Should you have the right to die?
Yes. Without a doubt 100% yes.
What is your opinion on this whole thing with Kevorkian?
He's a good man for allowing those who wanted to die to have a mechanism by which they were able to kill themselves.

Helping those who will inevitably die, die comfortably should not be a crime, we do it to our pets all the time. Why not grant ourselves that comfort if it is what we want?

I support Kevorkian's work, if some one wants to die then there should be some one available to make it as comfortable and painless as possible.
However I do not think that he should be completly embraced by the Pro-choice side. People have enough trouble with calling us killers now, and his name has been so dragged through the mud that it would only reinforce the "pro-choice baby killer" steryotype. Maybe i'm too much of an image conscious PR type person but one of the things that the pro-choice movement has going for us is our lack of crazies. I dont think Kevorkian was crazy but alot of people do.
And right to die: Oh Hell yeah

I support the right to die.
I think it should be a personal choice and an "end of the road" choice-- though the only sticky situation to me is the issue of mental illness.
We say that people who are terminally ill and in pain deserve death with dignity.. this sort of excludes people with mental illness (for obvious reasons) and I just feel bad.. that while everyone else may eventually have a way to kill themselves relatively easily and pain free while they're suffering, people suffering mental illness who comit suicide will likely die horrible, lonely, painful deaths as per usual.
I just wish there was a way to make it even across the board for suffering of all people that can't be regulated, while making it safe and not "Pro-Death".
I do think that everyone deserves a "death with dignity" if they wish one-- I can't imagine a better way to go than to go surrounded by my family.
