I better start a journal for sweet little Rosie! From Sally's Journal I was awakened this morning quite early by a knock on the door. The sun had just barely risen in the sky chasing the remaining threads of night's darkness away. Thinking it was maybe Sylvestanya, I rushed to the door and flung it open with excitement. Now that I think about it, why would Sylvestanya knock, this is still her home. At least in my mind it is. There was no one at the door though. I was about to shut the door when I noticed a small bag laying on the front step. Bending down I picked the bag up to examine it closer. There was a note attached that read "Plant Me." Curious, I brushed it aside to discovered the small bad was actually a satchel of seeds! And judging from the picture printed on the front of the satchel, they were red rose seeds! 'How lovely' I thought and rushed to the garden to plant them. Morning is the best time to plant you know, and it certainly seemed like these were in a hurry to be. I planted half the bag thinking I would save some for next year, it's not often a mysterious person leaves a bag of rose seeds on your doorstep. I hope they start growing soon, I've not had roses in the garden before. They should smell lovely! I think I'm going to go back to bed for a bit now though.

June 3, 2007From Sally's Journal Oh my goodness gracious! You will never believe it! After my nap this morning I went out to water the roses I had planted only to discover they had already grown waist high! Not only that but their vines were weaved together into one almost like they were supporting something. So I moved closer get a better look and imagine my surprise when I noticed in the center of the tower of rose plants there lay sleeping a tiny little red colored pae baby wrapped up in leaf swaddling! I simply could not believe my eyes! A child had bloomed from the roses I had planted only that morning! I reached out and plucked the little infant out of the rose, waking her up. She had the most amazing pale white eyes, a stark contrast to the deep red of her skin tone. Her wisp of hair was a dark green. She was colored exactly like a red rose! She smiled at me and reached her tiny little arms out, grasping for my hair.
In that moment I think I felt the first surges of love for the infant. She was my baby, I had given birth to her. Not physically no, but I had planted the seed that blossomed into this wonderful gift. Never had I felt this way before, not even with Sylvestanya. It filled the empty hole in me her absence had left. Sylvestanya didn't need me anymore. But this little infant did, just as I needed her. The Guardians must have sensed that need and sent her to me. Bless them.
I brought her inside the pumpkin. Strangely enough I couldn't quite tell what she was - demon, angel or faerie. It didn't really matter to me though, she was sweet and innocent and she would be loved with all my heart no matter what kind of creature she turned out to be. I felt a bond between us, me once being a pumpkin, her blooming from a rose...it felt like fate. I pulled the rocker over to the window to let sunlight stream down on her face (plants need lots of sunlight you know, especially growing ones), as I hummed her a song. After awhile she drifted back into a peaceful sleep.

From Sally's Journal Rosie (that's what I decided to name my little blossom) bloomed into a toddler today! She just crawled off into the rose bushes and there was a pale green light and when she came out again, giggling her little head off, she had grown. That child spends most of her time giggling I swear. I wish I knew what she was laughing about. But not knowing doesn't stop the smile from spreading across my face as well. The rose on her swaddling moved up behind her ear, decorating her hair. It is a real rose but somehow in the past week it has not withered or wilted at all. I'm guessing it's probably magical somehow. And she's now got a vine crawling up her right leg, complete with thorns. Every time I try to remove it for fear of her hurting herself on them she screams in protest. They don't seem to be bothering her much anyway. And she's a demon after all! I wonder if a demon will be more difficult to raise than an angel. I suppose it makes sense after all roses have thorns and demons have horns. At least I think they do. Now that I think about it Alaera doesn't....oh well. She loves spending time out in the garden just as much as I do which is a wonderful change. Sometimes small roses seem to sprout up out of the ground around her. She's such a sweet little thing.

[chainedfaye] Sally had taken Rosie for a short walk. Both of them were tired of being cooped up in the pumpkin house, stranded by the rain. Even Alaera hadn't come to visit in days to provide them with some amusement. And so they had set out into the forest where they were at least somewhat protected from the torrential rains. Sally didn't think it had ever rained this long, not that she could remembered. Not even when she was still a pumpkin. Before long Sally grew tired of walking and from holding the toddler, she was getting quite heavy. She briefly wondered if the girl was going to grow soon, remembering that it had been the same with Sylvestanya. She rather hoped not, she liked taking care of the toddler, children were too independent.
The pumpkin pae searched for a place they could stop and rest and found one under the overheard of a cluster of trees. She placed the child down on the ground and warned her "Stay close." She too sat on the ground looking out - from here see could see a great expanse of a rich green field of grass. "How pretty" she commented to no one in particular. Rosie meanwhile was exploring the new land. It was a bit soggy and muddy but she rather liked the mud. She crawled over and started playing in a great big puddle. Before long she was covered - you could barely even tell she was red! immortalmina Rain had gone out to see if he could find his brother. He was home and he very much wanted to talk with him. He found out that he was on some sort of wedding quest.
Rain ended up in the clearing by change as he was looking for the beach and became lost in the real rain.
"Oh, hello. This isn't the beach is it?" He asked the girl he found. [chainedfaye] Sally looked up with a start. She wasn't used to coming across others. "Beach?" she repeated. "No, no beach here. Just trees and grass. And rain." She sighed heavily. When would it ever end? She missed tended to her gardens. And the sun. Rosie's eyes grew big as she saw another person enter the clearing. She hadn't seen anyone other than her Mommy before! And he was pretty too! The ball of mud crawled over and clutched onto the new person's leg. "Hihi!!" immortalmina "The rain's got me all lost. Oh, I'm Rain...I mean my name is Rain, not that I am rain..." He never thought his name sounded odd until that moment.
Rain looked down at the toddler. He hadn't really ever been around kids. He smiled, best he could. "Oh, hi there." [chainedfaye] Rosie blinked? Rain? He was the Rain? She didn't understand. "Wain?" She asked looking up at him and then looking out at the rain falling just beyond the trees. She pointed there. "Wain?"
Sally smiled. "I think the rains got us all a bit lost. I've never seen it rain so much and for so long. It's nice to meet you though Rain." she laughed lightly at irony of their meeting. "I'm Sally and the clomp of mud attached to your leg is Rosie." "Wosie Wosie!" the little girl repeated cheerfully, clapping her hands together. When she was done she clasped back onto him hugging both his legs together. He was hers now, he had to stay and play with her!
immortalmina "With a name like mine you would think I like the rain or it was my power. But no..." Rain chuckled and made small rainbow. It was slightly solid so Rosie could touch it.
"Nice to meet both of you. So, what are you doing in the rain? Besides getting messy." He did his best smile at Rosie. [chainedfaye] The toddlers eyes about bulged out of her head when she saw him make a rainbow. "Pweete!" she exclaimed while leaning forward to touch it hesitantly afraid it would disappear as soon as she did. When it didn't she giggled with delight and clapped her hands excitedly, beamed up at him. She liked this new person.
Rosie crawled back over to the middle of her mud puddle and started slapping the ground, flinging mud everywhere. "Pway pway!" Sally was quite amazed to see him create a rainbow. "How remarkable" she softly said as she looked on. "Rosie dear, I don't think the nice young gentleman wants to get muddy with you." immortalmina "Ah, yeah maybe not." Rain said. The rainbow then disappeared. "Oh, but I can make a slide for a few seconds or minuets. I'm really not sure how long it will last." He though that might make the kid happy. Though, he didn't know kids very well either. [chainedfaye] Rosie cocked her head. A slide? What was that? She looked up at him with questioning eyes, waiting to be shown. Sally relaxed, leaned back on her elbows to watch. This guy seemed much nicer than the last she had met (well less creepy anyway) and it appeared Rosie had taken a liking to him so he must not be too bad. Idly she glanced over at the still falling rain, wishing it would slow already. She had gardening to do! immortalmina Rain smiled and then made a much smaller slide. Maybe this one would last longer because it was smaller. Plus, it was only a toddler who would be using it instead of a teen and adult.
"There you are. You sit up here and then slide down. Want a lift?" Rain asked her. [chainedfaye] Rosie toddled over unsteadily nodding excitedly. She had never slided before. And on a rainbow! Rainbows were quickly started to become one of her very most favorite things in the whole wide world. Sally smiled indulgently at the little girl. She was such a friendly little sweetheart. She was sure Rain had a new friend whether he wanted one or not. She glanced back out at the rain habitually. Was it her imagination or did it seem to be slowing somewhat? immortalmina Rain watched the little girl with a smile. Little ones really did know how to make someone smile. "Only thing is it doesn't last forever." And just like magic it poofed into air. "There it goes." [chainedfaye] Her eyes fell as the rainbow disappeared and she looked back up at him sadly. "No more 'bow? Me want 'bow back!" Sally rose and walked to the edge of the overhanging tree branches and put her hand out. Drops of the liquid still fell upon her hand but less often. It was slowing. Turning she said to Rain " I don't think it will be much longer until the rain clears. And then maybe we can find this beach of yours. " immortalmina Rain looked at Rosie. "Oh, well it doesn't last for very long yet. I haven't' really learned to do it that well." He smiled half way. "It's better then before, though."
Rain too went and looked. "Oh, yeah you're right." [chainedfaye] Rosie nodded sagely though she had no idea what he was talking about. But she did understand that pretty things were special and if they were special you couldn't always have them. Instead she tugged on Rain's teal colored wings trying to lead him back to her puddle of mud. She wanted to build a mud castle and was certain her new friend would be able to help her built a magnificent one fit for any princess. Or her. She giggled happily. Sally was actually excited to see this beach place more closely. She had seen one from a great distance while planting seeds with Ivy, but ever since then she had been a bit curious about what sort of treasures the rest of the island might hold. She still adored her garden the most but why not look around some? Maybe she could find something new she could plant. immortalmina "Well, it looks like someone still wants to play in the mud. Are you sure you don't want to play in the wet sand? It's like mud only...softer?" He really wasn't sure the difference, but knew there was one.
Rain walked over with her and shrugged his shoulders to Sally. He would at least humor the girl for a bit. She was only a toddler and a cute one, so why not? [chainedfaye] Rosie cocked her head. Sand? What was sand? It was like mud? She wanted to see!! "Wosie want pway sand!" She reached her arms up wanting to be held and taken to see this sand by her new friend. But Sally intercepted, stepping forward to pick up the little girl from her mud bath. She got herself filthy in the process but it was only, she was sure there was enough water to wash it off, especially after all this rain. "Sorry, she's a little energetic." Sally apologized. immortalmina Rain would have picked her up but Sally did. In a way he was glad. He never had held a toddler before. He didn't want to hurt her or something.
"Okay, let's go and find it then." Rain began to walk back the way he came. He had to be close...how did he get lost anyway? [chainedfaye] Sally nodded and followed him, with a smile. "Well, lead on because I certainly have no clue where we are going." The small toddler in her arms was squirming uncontrollably, wiping most of the mud off onto herself. Great now she would need a bath too. "Rosie, stop it, I can't hold onto you like this, what if I were to drop you?" But Rosie didn't care. She didn't want to be in Sally's arms, she had wanted Rain to picked her up. She continued to struggle and started to scream "Wain Wain!"
immortalmina Rain shurgged. Great he was lost and now he had to lead three to where he was lost from in the first place. He smiled a half smile as he began to walk. Flying might have been easier but his wings were a bit wet.
Rain kept walking as he hear his name. "Oh, um...yeah?" He asked the toddler. [chainedfaye] Sally didn't care that he didn't do where he was going, it was just nice to finally get out and see some different landscape for a change. Rosie finally slipped out of Sally's arms and ran stumbling over to Rain. She jumped up and down in front of him, her arms raised. "Wain up!" immortalmina Rain looked down at the toddler. "Alright." He then picked her up. "This good?" He asked never having held a toddler before.
"This, way I think... maybe we should fly?" He asked as he began in the direction he was pointing. [chainedfaye] Rosie smiled happily and nodded, wiggling a bit around in Rain's arms to get comfy as she stuck her thumb in her mouth. Once she got comfortable, she snuggled up against his chest. As she listened to his heartbeat she started to get a bit sleepy and her eyelids began to droop. Sally blinked. Fly? She'd never really flown before. Well, not for long periods, she had always preferred to stay closer to the earth. She wasn't sure she could even do it. But she nodded and flapped her wings experimentally anyway. "Ok. Can you fly with her in your arms like that?" immortalmina Rain thought about that for a moment. "Yeah, you're right best not to. I wouldn't' want to drop her or something." He thought he could make it, but he had flown with a toddler in his arms before.
"I'm sure it can't be hard to find on the ground anyway." He began to walk again. [chainedfaye] Sally blushed a bit. She hadn't meant to say they couldn't fly. She just wanted to make sure Rosie was safe. "Well, I'm not sure if it's the same beach or not, but I saw one once when I was with Ivy. It was a little it outside the forest. And the fastest way to get out of the forest is that way." She pointed in a south-east direction. Rosie was sleeping contently in Rain's arms as they walked along, occasionally making a small noise and burrowing even deeper into his chest. immortalmina Rain nodded. "Well, even if it is the other beach it will lead home. All the beaches are around the lake. And that's where home is. Well, my home now anyway. Where do you live?" He asked as he walked carefully with the toddler in his arms. [chainedfaye] "In a pumpkin." She said simply as if that explained everything. But after a moment or two she realized how strange that probably sounded. "It's back in the forest a bit" Sally added on, feeling a bit foolish. "We were adventuring. Rosie got tired of being couped up inside by the rain. She's normally a little ball of energy, it tires me out just watching her. I don't know what's gotten into her today though. " Rosie, blissfully unaware, continued to sleep. immortalmina Rain nodded. "Oh, well that's interesting. I just like in a purple tiki hut with my mom. At least for now. I lived somewhere else before." He trailed off as he didn't want to continue.
"Really? Well, at least she is sleeping now." [chainedfaye] "A purple tiki hut? That sounds like something to see!" Sally said as they broke out of the forest. She looked about, gathering her bearings, just able to see the edge of the beach in the distance. "Ah well there we are!" immortalmina Rain smiled as he too saw the beach. "There it is! Thanks so much. I do think the rain got me all lost." He walked over to the beach and then looked for the hut. "Now, she she wakes up she will see the sand. It is a bit muddy-like." Rain smiled. [chainedfaye] "Yes well it is rather strange not being guided by the sun with all these clouds blocking it." Sally sighed softly. "I do rather miss it. " She giggled somewhat as her feet sunk into the wet sand, squishing in between her toes. "Oh wow that feels strange. I'm sure Rosie will love it. I'm bet she won't want to leave!" immortalmina "Should I put her down?" Rain asked Sally as he looked to the little toddler. "She's sleeping." he nodded. Rain didn't want to wake her, but they were there now. [chainedfaye] Sally frowned. She wasn't really sure what to do... She knew the toddler would love to play in the sand but then a moment's break from the energetic girl seemed too good an opportunity to pass up. She hesitated a moment before answering. "Well...I don't see your purple tiki hut, shall we keep looking for it?" immortalmina Rain nodded. He knew it wouldn't be right to wake a toddler up. They needed all the sleep they could get. Maybe she'd wake up once they got there?
"Okay, let's keep going. I think this way." Rain pointed left and then began to head in that direction. [chainedfaye] Sally nodded and followed after him. The sun was just started to peek back out from behind the clouds and there was a damp coolness in the air from the rain still. It was almost like walking in the very early morning hours, one of her favorite things to do. Thinking of this reminded her of her company - she rather wished she knew what some of his favorite things were to do, it would at least give them something to talk about. But she wasn't very good at conversing, at least not with strangers. Her mind fumbled for something she hoped wasn't too awkward to talk about. "So, Rain, do you have any young ones of your own? Rosie sure seems to have taken a liking to you and you do so well with her. " immortalmina Rain blushed a little. "Oh, no. I haven't even been around them often. So, I don't know why she likes me." Rain chuckled softly. He was glad of it. If he did find the right someone he knew that children would be okay. "I guess I haven't found the right girl." [chainedfaye] "Oh" Sally replied lamely, feeling a bit embarrassed. Wanting somehow to ease the awkwardness she blurted out "Well, you're really only the second male I've ever met and I must say, this time's going a lot better than the last one!" immortalmina Rain smiled. "Well, I'm glad to hear that. I've had some hard times, not just with girls. Still, maybe one day I'll have a little one too!" He nodded as he looked down at the toddler in his arms. [chainedfaye] Rosie choose that exact moment to open her eyes, sleep still clinging to them heavily. She giggle and clapped her hands happily seeing that she already had Rain's attention. The toddler wiggled herself around to get a better view of their surroundings. Spying the gigantic puddle of water as she thought, she pointed at it, looking back up at Rain. "Wha dat?" Sally almost sighed when the toddler woke up. There went her few quiet minutes of the day. immortalmina "Well, that is the lake. And we are at the beach." He said as he kicked the wet sand for the little one to notice. "Oh, and the purple building down the beach is where I am living with my mom!" He pointed as he saw it. [chainedfaye] Rosie's eyes grew big as she noticed the sand beneath his feet as he kicked at it. "Down down! Me want pway!" She squirmed about in his arms trying to get free. Sally followed his pointing hand down to the bright purple speck further along the beach. She smiled - it certainly stood out even from this distance! "It looks very welcoming. And cheerful" she added with a laugh. immortalmina Rain set the toddler down. "There you are. Glad to see you want to play here!" He chuckled as he looked back to Sally.
"Yeah, it is very nice. I'm glad to be back there, really. My mom is also very nice." Nicer then he had thought. Rain shook his head full of his father's lies. [chainedfaye] Rosie started scooping together as mush sand as her small little arms could gather, and began shaping it into something only her toddler mind could appreciate, humming happily as she did. This was even better than mud!! With a sideways glance at Rain, Sally grinned widely at the girl, sitting down at on the wet sand with her. "Shall we make sand angels?" The pumpkin pae laid back and started scissoring her arms and legs back and forth. After a few moments she carefully stood back up and looked down to see her angel form left in the sand. Rosie's eyes grew big as she saw the imprint Sally's figure had left in the sand. "Pwetty! Me want make!" The toddler immediately flung herself down and started moving her arms and legs as fast as she could, sand flying everywhere as she did so. immortalmina Rain watched the two making angels and it reminded him of something. "When I was little it snowed, but not on the beach. We made snowmen and sandmen. Sandmen when we were on the beach." He then made an angel as well. [chainedfaye] "I've never really seen it snow. It's only been a bit frosty since I've been awake. I kinda wish I could I bet it would be something to see." Sally thought for a moment before adding with a laugh. "Though with all the strange weather we've been having, snow doesn't seem as unlikely!" Rosie giggled happily as she finished her angel and watched Rain make his. Snow? Sandmen? She looked around a bit fearfully of men made out of sand and crawled closer to Rain for protection. "Sandmen?" she asked a bit of a tremble in her lip. immortalmina "It was a freak snow storm. Didn't stop snowing for weeks. Then it stopped cleared up and never snowed again." Rain explained. It had been odd.
Rain smiled down to the little one. "Oh, well I don't think you should worry about them. We'd have to make one. We could just make a castle instead."

[chainedfaye] Sally nodded. "Yeah that does seem a bit strange." She too wondered what a snowman..or sandman was. Rosie felt better. If Rain wasn't scared of sandmen, then she wasn't either. And if you had to make them then they couldn't be all that scary. Her happy smile returned. "Otay! Cwastle" immortalmina Rain smiled. He sat on the sand and pulled some sand to him. "Okay, you can make it anyway you want. That's part of the fun!" He then began to move it around. "If only we had a bucket and spade. They would help." [chainedfaye] Sally joined the two already sitting on the ground, gathering up her own pile of sand. She started humming happily, and without thinking much began to shape her pile of sand into a pumpkin.
Rosie was grinning widely as she created a miss-mass of shapes for her castle. immortalmina Rain smiled as he looked at what the girls were making. "Very nice. It's like the house the Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater put his wife in." He chuckled. Rain was making your standard castle [chainedfaye] Sally froze and looked up at him with a confused expression. "Peter peter pumpkin eater? What in the world is that?" Rosie looked over at Rain's castle. His was much better than hers. Annoyed at her pathetic attempt, the toddler smashed her hand down on the piles of sands that until moment early, was her sand castle. She giggled in delight and specks of sand flew everywhere. Amused, she flung her other fist down into the sand. "pwatte cak, pwatte cak!!" immortalmina "Oh, it's rhyme. About a man who did have a house for his wife so they live in a pumpkin shell. It's odd, but all of them really are." Rain had read a lot when he was living with his father and his father's family. [chainedfaye] Sally froze, her work on he sand castle forgotten. A rhyme about a person living in a pumpkin? That was strangely coincidental. "Well, its not that odd" she said slowly. "After all that's what Rosie and I live in." Rosie was still happily flinging sand around as her arms flailed. This was fun, but the sound of her hands hitting the gritty sand below just wasn't as satisfying as the lovely "smluck" sound that mud made. An idea occurred to her and she grinned deviously. Gathering together clumps of wet sand with her tiny little fingers she formed them into a roughly shaped ball. Now...who would her victim be? She glanced back and forth between the two adults - Sally always had a fun reaction but she was too far away to really splatter good. Better go with her new friend, he was closer. She reached her arm back and flung the sand ball at him with all her might (which admittedly wasn't much). She giggled madly. immortalmina Rain looked at Sally with a surprised look. "Really? Hummm... Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater had a wife and couldn't keep her. Put in a pumpkin shell and there he kept her very well. So, where is Peter?" Rain chuckled as he was only joking.
As Rain chuckled he was hit by a sand ball on his leg. He looked over to Rosie. "Oh, my little sneak!" he winked and then made a rainbow ball and tossed it at her. It was soft and wouldn't hurt. [chainedfaye] A blank looked crossed Sally's face for several moments. What in the world did he mean? Wait....a blush broke out over her face. "Erm...well there really isn't a Peter" she stammered out, not understanding that he was joking with her. Rosie giggled insanely as the swirling ball of colors came towards her. It was so pretty! She tried catching it but her hands were too clumsy and the ball tumbled out of her grasp, dissappating as it did. She frowned sadly. immortalmina Rain smiled and winked at her. "Oh, I'm sure there will be one day." He chuckled as he was just teasing her.
"Oh, well how about this?" Rain made a small rainbow bracelet. "I hope that stays longer." He said as he tied it around Rosie's wrist. Though, he wasn't sure it would. [chainedfaye] The pumpkin pae just nodded blankly in response, her mind whirring away. She'd been after Alaera for who knows how long to find someone to be with. But she'd never really thought of looking for a special someone for herself. She'd always just been satisfied by her pumpkin friends and caring for first, Sylvestanya, and now Rosie. But what would happen when they would no longer needed her....? Rosie's eyes grew huge as she looked at the bracelet. It was the most beautiful thing she'd ever seen in her whole entire life! Stumbling up from the sand, she lumbered over to Rain and threw her arms around his neck hugging him tightly. "Fank You Wain!!!" immortalmina Rain smiled to Sally. He only meant it as a joke. He hoped that he didn't hurt her feelings. She had Rosie. All he had was his mom. Which was nice, but not really the same.
Rain hugged the little girl back. "You are very welcome. A pretty for a pretty girl." He nodded. Hopefully it would last. He really wanted it to. Maybe that would work? It was his power after all. [chainedfaye] Rosie blushed at the compliment before releasing his neck and toddling over to Sally. "Mommy Mommy Wook!!" She proudly displayed to her the shimmering bracelet of colors twirling around her wrist.
Sally broke out of her reverie. Looking down at her little girl's wrist she smiled and laughed at the girl's excitement. Pulling her up into her lap she kissed the toddlers cheek and hugged her. "Well isn't that a pretty little treasure you got!" She hoped that it lasted longer than Rain's other rainbow creations, or poor Rosie would be saddened. She glanced up at Rain. "You have a wonderful way with children." immortalmina Rain smiled. This time it would last. Some how he knew it would. It was small anyway. That might help it out. He beamed at Sally. "Oh, well thanks. I don't know why. I don't have any and I missed my brother's kids when they were young." he scratched the back of his head. Rain never even thought about having kids, though after this it might be nice. If he found a girl anyway. [chainedfaye] Rosie was still admiring her pretty new bracelet. It was her most special-est treasure ever now! A thought occurred to her and she frowned slightly...Rain didn't his own special-est treasure though! Well she was the girl to fix that!
Leaving her Mommy's embrace she scurried over the sand, head down looking for something. She didn't know what, but she knew somehow that she'd find something special. She kept wandering ever closer to the taste, scrunching up her nose at the feel of the now wet sand sinking in between her toes. She rather liked it but there was no time to play now, she had work to do!
The toddler almost stepped on it before she saw it, half buried in the sand. Her eyes growing big at her discovery she clapped happily before bending over at picking it up, brushing the excess sand away. A shell! It was beautiful, scalloped shaped, with stripes of chocolate brown layered over creamy vanilla on one side, while the other had a purplish tinge that blended together with a light shade of blue-green. She liked this side the best, it was the prettiest. Holding her discovery carefully she raced back to the adults, rushing up to Rain's side as she held the little shell out. "Rain Rain! For you! Tweasur!"
Sally let the girl scramble out of her land, watching in wonder as the toddler did who knew what. But she had wandered too far away. "Rosie" she called "Come back here now! Not so far away!" She started to rise to go fetch the girl when Rosie started to come back to them herself.

[chainedfaye] Sally was taking Rosie for a walk, the toddler being much too active and playful to keep couped up for long. Rosie actually seemed like a great big bundle of energy from sunup to sundown - once it was dark outside the girl practically dropped right off to sleep. Sally wasn't sure if this was a blessing or not, while it certainly kept her busy during the days, the dear wasn't as fussy as she remembered Sylvestanya being as a toddler. She closely watched the red-colored little girl as she walked closely beside her, an amused smile on her lips. Rosie was just learning to walk and kept tumbling down, usually tripping over her own legs after losing her balance. The whole spectacle was agonizingly adorable. The toddler seemed to finally be getting it though and Sally was a bit relieved - she'd been half afraid the girl would get hurt before too much longer. Rosie was concentrating hard as she put one foot in front of the other, while keeping her balance. Walking was harder than it looked! She'd taken a couple of tumbles so far and her bottom was starting to hurt a bit but she wasn't gonna give up! Nope! Rosie moved her back foot to catch it up with the front one, but lost her balance and fell to the ground with a thump. She almost started to pout but something in the distance caught her eyes. Pretty colors. Lots of them. She pointed to them and said "Ook Mommy, fowers."
Kira of Flames Pastela was with Seth playing with the little Fae in a flower field. She was excited, since Koorie had let her watch Seth all by herself. She giggled, putting a bright red flower in Seth's hair next to the Bird of Paradise that he wore. She loved being with Seth, even more than dessert.Seth giggled, his little Fae wings fluttering as his older sister put a flower in his hair. "Stewa, Stewa! Put blue fower in your hair!" He giggled excitedly, holding up the blue flower to her.Pastela grinned and giggled. "Ok!" She happily took the flower and placed it into her hair, arranging it so it fell slightly over her hair. [chainedfaye] Sally shielded her eyes from the sun to look where Rosie was pointing. A field of flowers, how pretty. She squinted. Was that too children sitting in the middle of the field? Her suspicions where confirmed when the sound of laughter was carried over the slight breeze. Rosie heard the laughter too. And laughter meant other people right?? She raised her arms up to Sally, her intentions clear. "We go pway!" Sally bent over to pick the small child up and walked over to where the two figures sat. But as she neared them Rosie started to squirm in her arms, and getting the message, Sally put her back down on the ground. Sometimes, she felt like she was running a taxi service. Rosie walked forward, still waddling, until she was right in front of her new friends. She was certain they would be her friends, after all she hadn't met anyone who wasn't her friend. "Helwo!" she cried out cheerfully. Kira of Flames Pastela blinked, seeing a little red Pae with green hair comming towards her and Seth. She smiled and waved at her when the little Pae waddled up to them. "Hi there!"Seth blinked, looking up at Rosie, then a bright smile covered his face. "Fower!" He pointed to the red rose in her hair.Pastela laughed and patted Seth on the head, messing his hair a bit. "This is Seth, and I'm Pastela. Sethy calls me 'Stela' though. What's your name?" [chainedfaye] Rosie sat down the ground with them. She grinned, happy he had noticed her rose - it was her most precious thing in the whole wide world. But he had a flower too! A couple actually. "You fower too!"
She smiled even more. "Me Wosie!" Sally came up behind her. "She means her name is Rosie. And I'm Sally. It's nice to you met you Pastela and Seth. " She smiled warmly at the two children. Kira of Flames Pastela giggled, holding out a yellow flower to Rosie. "Want to play with us? We're making flower crowns. Have you ever made a flower crown before?" Seth giggled and nodded. "I have fower too!" He confirmed, pointing to his Bird of Paradise in his hair. He never went anywhere without it, since it brought him a sense of calm and security, even through the scary storms that had just gone through recently.Pastela smiled up to the older Pae and waved happily. "Will you play with us too?" [chainedfaye] Rosie went and sat next to Seth leaning up slightly to sniff the flower in his hair. "Smell pwetty! Wosie want pway too!" She clapped her hands happily and reached out for more flowers. Sally continued to smile as she sat down with the young ones. She wondered what they were doing here all by themselves but figured they were safe since she was here now. She'd have to make sure to take them home before she left though, their caretaker must be frightfully worried about them. Then again, children on this isle had a tendency to wander about alone. "Sure!" she replied "I love flowers too. Especially wildflowers like these." Kira of Flames Seth smiled and happily took the wildflower that Pastela had put in his hair and offered it to Rosie. "Here! Haf mine!"Pastela smiled happily as Sally joined them, and quickly got to work making a yellow and orange flower crown. She handed it to Sally. "Here, you can wear this one!" She had a proud smile on her face, glad of a job well done in making the crown. [chainedfaye] Rosie beamed. "Tanks!" She took the flower and wrapped it around the vine of thorns crawling up her leg. She plucked a few flowers from the ground around her and added to her vine as well. "Pwetty! You make pwetty now!"she said looking at Seth. The toddler rose and stumbled around picking up all the yellow flowers she could find and brought them over to Pastela. "Stewa make neklas for Sef?" "Oooh how pretty. And it matches me. Thank you dear! " Sally exclaimed as she took the crown from Pastela and placed it on top of her head. It was a bit tricky getting it on with her halo in the way but she managed. "If you show me how to make them, I'll make you one too!" Kira of Flames Pastela smiled. "Ok!" She happily took the flowers from Rosie and began to tie the stems together. She beamed happily to Sally. "I don't mind showing you! Just tie the stems together, see?" She held up the chain of four flowers to Sally to look at.Seth crawled around in the flowers, then slowly got up on to his feet, standing up to a big bush with some pretty pink azalea flowers on it. He took a couple of then and then picked some red flowers and brought them back. "Make bwacellets fo' Wosie?" [chainedfaye] Rosie watched Pastela twist the flowers together and plucked a few more off the ground to give it a try. Her fingers were too clumsy though and so she rose and toddled around gathering as many flowers as she could get her hands on. "Fowers pweetty!!"
"Well that's simple enough!" Sally said brightly. She couldn't help but like others who liked nature just as much as she did. "What a clever thing to think of! And sure, little man, I'll give it a try!" She took the flowers from Seth and started to twist them together. Kira of Flames Pastela smiled and walked over to Rosie, her feathered wings fluttering a bit. "Here, Rosie, I'll help you tie the stems together! You picked some very pretty flowers!"Seth giggled and clapped, watching Sally twist the stems together. "Wow! You weally good at it, jus' like Stewa!" [chainedfaye] Rosie held out two flowers to her, holding them carefully by the base of the flower itself so that the stems stuck out for Pastela to tie together. "Fanks." Sally laughed and patted the little boy on the head. "I have a feeling by the time we are down we are all gonna be decorated in flowers." Kira of Flames Pastela giggled and petted Rosie's head. "Of course! I'm more than happy to help you!" Seth giggled and clapped happily as Sally patted his head. He then crawled off to another part of the heavily perfumed meadow. As he crawled, he felt something weird going on in his arms and legs. Sitting down, confused and curious, he looked down at himself, fluttering his little wings. In an explosion of light and perfume, Seth found himself having changed physically; he had grown. He was confused at first, but slowly he found that he could stand up without having his legs wobble. Remembering Sally, he hoped she'd know what happened within that strange flash of light, and he made his way back to the group.Pastela looked up, seeing Seth and his changes, and covered her mouth. "Oh my gosh...." [chainedfaye] Sally smiled warmly at Seth as he returned. "Well, aren't you handsome little man! You're growing so fast!" She ruffled his hair lightly. Rosie's eyes grew when she saw Seth return. He was big! Her face fell. She'd feel a strange sort of connection with this boy, some sort of kinship, as he was a flower just like her. But he was so big now and pretty too! She felt so plain in comparison. She crawled over to poke him, taking in all the changes. All was betrayed now! He had grow up without her! Her eyes teared up and her lower lip started to tremble. Why couldn't she be big and pretty too! she thought with her first ever pangs of jealousy. Kira of Flames "G-growing...?" Well, that probably explained why the ground was farther away from him, and why he could walk better. He went to smile to Rosie, then saw her beginning to cry. "N-no, don't cry Rosie!" He hugged her tightly, not wanting his first ever friend to be sad.Pastela giggled. "Seth is my size now! I wonder how Mom will react..." [chainedfaye] Rosie tried pushing him away. But he was much stronger and much bigger, her eyes only reaching him mid-chest. But then she started to fee a bit funny and instead of trying to push him away, she clung to him. What was happening? She tingly and light headed, the smell of roses overpowering her small little nose. She sagged in Seth's arms, looking almost like she was about to faint, when a glowing red light emerged from her as well, traveling up her body, from the tips of her fingers and her toes to her chest, transforming as it went. When it finally centered above her heart, the light completely enveloped her. When it faded, she too had changed, grown into a child. She stared blankly at Seth for a moment, looking him straight in the eyes from her new height, before looking down at her self.
Her legs were longer now and she was standing upright without difficulties. Her thoughts seemed cleared to her as well. But nothing else had really changed. The vine of thorns twisted about her leg was as present as always, but thicker and probably poking Seth rather uncomfortably in his own leg. Kira of Flames Seth, feeling the painful pricking in his own leg from Rosie's thorns, let go of her and sat down, tears in his eyes. "Owie owie owie....." He held his leg, trying to sooth it.Pastela smiled brightly. "Wow! Both you and Rosie are my size now, Seth!."Seth looked from Rosie to Pastela in confusion, then blinked. His older sister was right, Rosie was the same hight... which meant that the flash of light must have had something to do with her growing. [chainedfaye] Rosie didn't understand why Seth had pulled away from her, why he had tears in his eyes, why he was hurt. He had just been hugging her, how had he gotten hurt? He hadn't fallen down....
She crouched down next to him, tilting her head slightly in concern and confusion. She didn't like that her new friend had an owwie. But what had caused it?
"Why Seth cry? And how you get hurt?" It seemed that though her thoughts had cleared and she had grown, her language skills were still a bit behind. Sally just sat back and watched the scene unfold in front of her, her fingers still twisting around the flowers in her lap, as she worked on the chain of flowers. Kira of Flames Pastela was instantly beside her brother, worried. She didn't want him to get hurt, but she hadn't known what had happened. "Seth, you need to use words...."Seth, who was still sniffling in pain with watering eyes, nodded. "Rosie's thorns.... they hurt against the bare skin...."Pastela blinked, then started giggling. "Ohhhh, the little thorns on her leg got you good, didn't they? Don't worry, you'll be fine, Sethy!" She then smiled to Rosie and giggled more. [chainedfaye] Her thorns? Rosie frowned and looked down to the spiraling vine about her leg. But they had never hurt her before. Or Mommy either. She didn't understand - why would her thorns hurt Seth?
And then she realized that she had been the one that had been the cause of Seth's tears and pain. Her own eyes started to water. She... she hadn't mean to hurt him!! Bursting out crying she ran over to her Mommy. "Aww, there there now." Sally reached down to pick her up and set her down in her lap. "No crying now. You didn't mean to hurt Seth did you?" "No." Rosie sniffled, her tears starting to slow down some. Mommy always made sense.

July 21, 2007I'm so excited now that I'm a child! Think of all the fun things I can do now! Mom says she's gonna take me to get my power in a few days won't that be super cool! I think I might already sorta have one though...sometimes when I don't mean to or when I concentrate really hard, I can make roses spring up from the ground. Neat huh!
Maybe now that I'm bigger (and cuter!) I can go out by myself more and meet new friends. It was lots of fun playing with Seth and Pastela the other day. And it was so cool when Seth and I grew together! Maybe I could go visit them again soon!
And maybe I should go see Rain again! I bet he'd be super surprised at how big I've gotten! I kinda miss his rainbows.

Sally took me to get my power today. I was a little nervous. The potion I made tasted HORRIBLE! I'm excited now that it's over, though. I bet I get a neat power!
[chainedfaye] "...and now I can teleport between different pumpkin patches that I've planted. Maybe someday if I get really good at it I will be able to take you along with me" Sally finished telling the little girl, who was grasping rather tightly onto her hand. Rosie had seemed a bit worried as they walked together to the Potion Master's hut to get her power, and so to try and relieve the little girl's fears, Sally had told her of her own experience getting a power. "So...so it won't hurt then?" Rosie asked a bit hesitantly, her voice trembling ever so slightly. She really wanted her own power but was afraid it was going to hurt terribly. "Oh no sweetie it won't! It might taste a bit yucky though, it just all depends on how you make your potion." Sally opened the door and led her inside. "Now all you have to do is pick an ingredient from each shelf and mix them together in that bottle on the table there" she instructed the girl, pointing at each of the three shelves and the bottle in turn. Rosie nodded, looking about the room cautiously. She wasn't sure she liked this place, it was kinda spooky with all these mysterious bottles and ingredients lying around. Picking up the bottle with the clear liquid inside off the table, she shuffled over to the first shelf, dragging her feet. She wasn't really picky about what to put in her potion, she was sure she'd get something neat no matter what and so she just scooped something off the first shelf into her bottle, before shuffling over to the next one and carefully pouring a bit of it in as well. The brown liquid she added (Bronze) made the potion inside turn a yellowish color and sparks fly out of the opening at the top, which started Rosie a bit and almost made her drop her potion! Clinging onto it tightly with both hands now she made her way over to the last shelf. These she knew! There were colors just like the rainbow! She took her time with these, finally settling on the nice ruby red one - after all, she was red too. After she added this in, the potion took on an orangish color and the little girl looked up at Sally hesitantly, her eyes asking the adult if she really had to drink this. An encouraging smile and a slight nod later, Rosie brought the potion up to her lips and drank the whole thing down in one gulp. Her eyes grew big and she stuck out her tongue, waving her hand in front of her face - it was hot!!! "Hothothothothothothot" she cried out, putting the beaker down as she rushed out of the hut, desperately looking for some water. Sally couldn't help but smile just a bit as she followed Rosie out, remembering that she had rushed out of the hut the same way when she had gotten her power.

So it's kinda weird. I haven't gotten a power or anything yet. Which is strange according to Mom. She said usually you start doing mysterious things and discover it on your own before too long after you drink the potion. And she said that you usually get a note from the Guardians telling you about it too. But I haven't done anything out of the ordinary yet. And there hasn't been a note from the Guardians at all. But I'm not really worried. I'm already able to make roses grow with just a touch. So I have a power anyway. I just wonder if I made my potion wrong or something...I know it sure tasted terrible but Mom said hers did too. Oh well.

Late Summer, 2007
AGH! I am soooo bored! Mom won't let me go out and play and explore and meet new people without her. And she never wants to go. I mean I like gardening too, but for heaven's sake you can't spend every waking minute out in the garden pulling weeds! I need people to talk to! Friends! And it's the summer too! I should be out on the beach having fun!
I think I might be going crazy!

Oh wow guess what! I turned into a teen today! Now Mom can't force me to stay locked up in the pumpkin. Alaera visited - she's been weird lately. Like distracted or something. And while she was here, I just sprung up like a weed! It was mad crazy! I'm so tall now I can't believe it! And Alaera said I'm something called "Hot stuff." I really don't know what it means but I think its a good thing!
Hey, I wonder if Seth grew too! I bet he did since we both grew into children at the same time before. And now I can go see him without dragging my lame mother along! Oh man this is gonna be so much fun! I love you Mom, and you are way awesome, but I can't wait to spread my wings!
Later!
