Yali just smiled. "You're a natural," she said simply, as if stating common knowledge, or some well-known fact. Yali wondered what it would be life if you knew what you wanted in life. To Yali, her future wasn't something to be planned. She was just living every single say as it came, and letting just letting fate have its fun.

"Okay, I've got one. How do fish know when it stops raining?" Her jokes mostly had a fish-y flare about them. Still, it was where she grew up.

Shaking her head, Yali shrugged, "I don't know." When Yali noticed that it was another ocean-based joke, she just brushed it aside. Coral was a naiad, wasn't she? It wasn't surprising that she was telling jokes about her home.

"When a Rainbow Trout swims by!" Coral giggled and even grabbed her tummy she was laughing so hard. She thought it was one of the best jokes she had had. Besides the shell phone one that no one got.

(( Soooo sorry about this huge delay. @.@ Between net problems, thunderstorms, and coastal visits, I haven't been on Gaia much.... ))
It took Yali a few moments to understand the joke, but once she did, she clapped her hands gleefully and laughed. "That's goo-eek!" Yali was abruptly cut off when a rather large wave blanketed her up to her knees. "Sorry," Yali amended. "I'm afraid I don't know how to swim."

((That's alright I understand.))
Coral smiled and laughed a little more. "Oh really? How come?" She couldn't think of any reason someone couldn't swim. It was such an odd idea to someone born and not able to leave the water until child.

Yali tilted her head to the side, wondering how she could explain to someone who's whole world was the water. "You're born in the water, so you don't have a choice about swimming. In fact, you probably know it by instinct. Me, however, I was born on the land. I don't need to know how to swim. And since swimming isn't required by me as a survival skill, it isn't something I know naturally. I have to learn it on my own."

"I guess it's like walking and breathing on land. I couldn't do that without my necklace and even then I had to learn...well sorta. I just got out and tried. You could do that." Coral shurgged. Then again, she didn't have a necklace to breath in water in case she couldn't do it.

Yali laughed. "But that's the problem. You have your necklace to help you. I don't have anything. If I jumped in the water and just tried, as you put it, I would probably drown."

"Well, sure but you could just try in the shallow end. It's not all deep. You could walk." Coral shurgged it wasn't up to her wheather or not the demon tried to swim. It was something she had to decide and try on her own.

"I suppose so..." Yali answered. Tentatively, the stepped into the next wave, giggling a bit as the sea foam tickled her toes. Soon, each of Yali's steps was bolder than the last, until Yali was pratically running. Before long, the water was up to her shoulders, and Yali's feet was skimming over the sandy bottom. "Did I go a bit too far?" she asked, laughing.

"Nah, not if you want to drown." Coral just joked and then swam out to her. "Okay, if you feel like you can't just grab on to me. I'll swim you back to shore." Coral didn't want her new friend to hurt herself.

Yali smiled, "Thanks for the offer, but I think I'm oka-phft!" A wave easily tumbled over Yali, and she floundered to the surface, sputtering and laughing. "Well, like you said, I'm not going to drown here."

Coral smiled and chuckled. "Well, just be careful!" She swam around the other girl with a nod. "So, how do you like it? It's nice and cool anyway!"
