Seeing that increasingly familiar head of pink hair come up to him, Nic held back a sigh. While she had been somewhat of a help so far, she was the one who kept laughing at him at the bottom of the tower. The last thing he needed at the moment was a growing heat in his face. He was already sweating as it is.
"Hold on, wait a--AHH!!" the knight exclaimed, before getting a chance to back away from the touch. He clutched and rubbed his slightly numb calves, trying to remove the strange sensation from the muscles. By the time he looked back up, however, the fairy was gone again. "What was that about?"
Nicholas pushed himself to his feet, noticing that while he was still slightly short of breath, his legs felt as if he hadn't even started yet. He even bounced up and down slightly to make sure they wouldn't start aching right away.. Nothing.
A small smile crept to his lips. He'd definitely have to formally thank that fairy. That was the second time she helped him out. "Alright. Let's try this again! Can't be too much farther," he said, once again climbing his way up. "... I hope."
Again, Nicholas found himself just as he was before. With aching legs and out of breath. What was worse, he was he on his hands and knees crawling up step by step. But he wouldn't let himself quit, and it was that attitude that took him to the top. Having crawled with his head down, he didn't see the upcoming door on which he hit his head. "Ow!" he complained, hardly taking notice to what he hit as he rubbed the bump.
But as his eyes slowly glided up the wooden door, he got a new burst of energy. Enough to get him through the door at least before he was on his knees again. "I made it!!" he cried, almost too overjoyed to notice what lay on the bed not far from him.

The fairies had, quite easily, heard the knight coming from far off and had hidden easily, swooping to places of best vantage points before turning invisible.
The only one left on unawares in the tower was the sleeping "princess" - and, girl or not, he truly was a beauty (though the wig and dress helped that image along). Really, the fairies had done their job quite well, as the fair "maiden" lay in a manner so effortlessly beautiful that it would leave even one who had not climbed several hundred steps breathless. Streaming length of pink hair eased into a deep rouge... perfectly rose-pinked lips wedged slightly open... a gentle easing of breath... Aurora was an image of perfection.

But like it says. Almost didn't notice. It didn't take long before Nicholas's eyes caught sight of the sleeping princess. The only thing that kept him from being completely dumbstruck by it all was a trickling bead of sweat that ran down his neck, tickling him into awareness.
With mouth slightly agape, and remaining on all fours, he crawled over to where the bed was before bringing himself to his feet. In all his created images of 'her', what lay before him definitely wasn't one of them. Wiping his sleeve over his face to remove any moisture, he took a deep breath. He was finally about to do what he'd waited months to do..
Leaning over in a slightly kneeled position, he lowered his lips to those of the 'Princess' Aurora's.

Slowly, the "princess'" eyes beat open, though their dark hues were misted slightly with sleep. That didn't last for long, though, once Aurora realised, for the umpteenth time, just what had awoken him. A knight. Kneeling over him. Mouth on his, lips moving... Oh sh*t... He really hated that fairy, whoever it had been, who had placed this curse on him...
Of course, Aurora had been laying petrified in the bed for the past several moments. Which meant he wasn't moving. Which meant the man was still kissing him and... He sat up hurriedly, rather clumbsily bumping into the other due to his sudden movement. He raised an arm an hastilly wiped his mouth off on the back of his sleeve, making a disgusted and most unprincessly sound as he did, barely taking any heed of the knight as he did so. "Stupid fairies..." he grumbled slowly.
Clearly, there was no "Princess Charming." Not even a princess in this case, as Aurora hastilly ripped off the wig to reveal a head of considerably shorter (but still long for a guy), blond hair. He then caught full sight of Nic and gave him a hearty glare, his lips set in a heavy pout. Still, he looked like a princess with or without the wig. "Who're you?" he grumbled grudgingly, crossing his arms tightly over his chest.

The other's sudden movement sent him reeling backwards, landing him straight on his butt on the floor. So much for the gentle, eye-fluttering wake up he was expecting. Then again, nothing which had happened thus far was exactly what he expected. But when Aurora ripped off her lovely pink hair and sent him what he would consider a death glare.. that broke all limits.
Not that she?.. he?(Nic wasn't quite sure anymore) wasn't still beyond attractive without it, but he just knew ripping hair off just wasn't a princess-like mannerism. For what seemed like several moments, he sat staring at the angered boy?.. girl? whatever they were, in shock. "I-I'm," he stuttered, not seemingly able to find proper speech.
"Nicholas!" he finally blurted out. "Sir Nicholas. I came to.. rescue you?" He seemed much more unsure of himself than he had before.

"You and hundreds of others," Aurora cut in, seeming quite overly irked. "Really. I can't believe it's been a whole year and no one's updated the story yet..." he sighed slowly, running a hand through his pale blond hair, eyes closed in annoyance and irritation, for a moment before his dark hues fixed back on the other. "Look... this whole... curse thing... uh... Geez, I hate doing this...." he grumbled slowly to himself, shaking his head slowly, sending cascades of soft, lovely hair fwisking this way and that. Really, despite his gender, one could not deny just how overly attractive he was.
"Look, so... my parents really wanted a daughter, right? So they... dress me up like this even though..." he sighed slowly, raising a hand to his pale brow, "I'm their son. So I'm a guy. So you just... kissed a prince. Not a princess. Get that? Fortunately, the evil-witch-type-person cursed the princess, who doesn't exist... so we're not like... true lovers... or whatever else that bogus crap entails. I just got cursed with enchanted Narcolepsy, so that only a kiss can wake me whenever I conk out...." He explained all this with a rather bored, though quite irked, tone -- making it obvious just how many times he'd gone over this before. "Really, I almost think I'd prefure the original curse... then I'd only have to get kissed once...." he grumbled half-heartedly to himself.

Indi walk-drifted the distance from the middle of the kingdom to the edge of the magic filled forest. Once again he looked up to see just how much distance he had managed to travel since his last look. It just seemed like he'd made so much more progress from leaving the castle to his last distance check. He sighed deeply and walked into the forest, jumping, rather more daintily than a boy his age should, over the fallen trees and such that blocked his path."I will break her curse." he kept repeating to himself as he went."I will break her curse. I will break her curse. I will break her curse. I will brea...eeaa...aachoo!" he sneezed rather loudly as a feather on the wind tckled his nose.

Nicholas couldn't seem to actually register why the Princess-.. Prince was angered or even that he was angry in the first place. His eyes falling to the forgotten pink wig, rather muddled up in his own thoughts. Not a girl but dresses like one, messed up cursed, no true love..
So much for that happily ever after.
Wihtout bothering to get up from his position on the floor, he brought his gaze back up to the youth. So, he had actually.. kissed another guy? The thought of being with another man had never even occured to him. Afterall, he had grown up with the ideas of the whole rescuing damsels act. Not boys posing as damsels.
Despite the basically summed up story of Aurora's life, Nic looked up at him suspiciously. "Are you sure?" he finally asked, as if not believing the whole thing.
The response of a knight..

"Sure about what, pray-tell?" he asked vehemently, his arms once more resuming their position protectively across his chest. "Sure that I'm a guy? That's easily proven. Sure that my parents wanted me to be a girl? Well, why else would they forcibly dress me like this?! I... I hate being forced into... frilly dresses... can't even move properly..." He grumbled, a pout heavy on his lips, his cheeks flushed with general anger. "Sure that I'm cursed? Yeah, I was there... unfortunately. And about the whole true love thing being false? Well... how can I possibly have fallen in love with the hundreds of guys who have come up and kissed me -- I know even know them!! Never even spoke to them before... and they--you all just... just come and force a kiss on me!! It's.... it's disgusting, that's what it is." Obviously, the prince had quite a bad temper.

Indi continued onward through the woods. He had taken to whistling as he walked to ive himself something to pass the time. He practiced a few complicated hand motions that he was having trouble getting right for a new charm his mentor was teaching him."No...no...no." he chastised himself."It's supposed to go: up down up left right up right left up left down." he corrected the directions he was supposed to move his had as he chanted the incantaion. Before he even realized it he was coming up on a clearing. He looked up expecting to see the massive tower that cast the shadow over him.

Nic had one of those 'Uh-oh, I've done it now' expressions on his face. He didn't like when people were mad, most especially when it was being directed at him. And it seemed his simple question got him a whole new rant.
A new blush arose on the knight's cheeks as he watched the boy on in his speech. In his anger, with those flushed cheeks, he looked all the more beautiful, but this was a boy they were talking about. Shouldn't he be.. disgusted or something? Nic didn't feel any particularly negative feelings. Maybe he was just confused from the outfit and his delicate features. Either way, he told himself to completely forget about thanking those fairies. After all their warnings, they didn't even bother to tell him what awaited at the top. But Nic still couldn't bring himself to be mad. In fact, it took quite a bit to make him angry.
"Well," he started softly, pushing himself to his feet. He felt it was indecent to have a conversation while sitting in the floor. "In defense of everyone who's tried.. I'm sure no one thought they could actually speak to you until after they kissed you." And as if an afterthought.. "Oh! And it didn't seem like a forced kiss there until the end where you knocked me down." He tried to offer what he believed to be a humorous grin.

Indi cast his eyes skyward as he continued to walk. Just as his gaze rose high enough to see what he was looking for, he crashed face first into an enormous oak tree."OW! You stupid tree!" he shouted angrily and attempted to perform a reversal charm on the tree. Instead of it becoming a sapling, a cloud of butterflies and doves flew out of his overlarge sleeve and some flowers bloomed on the trees trunk. He cursed so loudly that he heard his voice echo back to him. It had to have been heard everywhere in the forest.

Aurora's shoulders rose towards his ears, his head angling down slightly, dark eyes staring up at the other -- he was still sitting down, after all. "I-it... is a forced kiss," he replied, though with less conviction and less anger, the pout still heavy on his lips. "Because... all you... people want is a 'happily ever after.' You don't think about anything else...." he mumbled slowly, his pale bangs making a veil over his dark eyes. It seemed that Nic had found a rather weak part of Aurora's anger -- and, as he couldn't argue it well... he couldn't hold himself up too well, either.
"Anyway... I told the stupid fairies just to wake me up whenever I fell asleep... but they never do it!! They keep insisting on dressing me up like this and... and... enticing men to... waste their time looking for a perfect... princess....." he said unhappily. He didn't seem nearly as angry as before - more resentful than anything else. Perhaps he experienced this so often that it was hard to hold his anger.

Indi looked around the tree and realized that he was almost at the tower. Another mile at most and he'd be at the towers base. The rumors of a dragon guarding the "Princess" had made him practice several spells for protection and he was prepared to counter any kind of magical defenses placed on the tower. "I can do this." he told himself as he reached the clearing where the tower waited for him."Any who guard this tower...I accept whatever challenges lay ahead for me. I have come to free the Princess from her curse." he called out from the towers base...hoping that whatever greeted him would not kill him before he had the chance to fight back.

Nic's own shoulders sagged slightly. Anything he hated worse than being the cause of someone's anger, was being the cause of someone's sadness or grief. "Well, of course everyone wants a 'happily ever after'," he said, though none too forcefully. "I mean, don't you?"
The knight wasn't about to take a place on the bed beside the Prince, so he remained standing where he was. Despite being tricked, Aurora was still royalty and it was only respectful to do, even if legs were still a bit shaky from the climb. But before waiting for a response from the other for his previous question, he continued to speak. "What I don't really understand is that if you don't like this whole routine, why don't you just explain to your parents and leave the tower? Since there is no dragon or anything to keep you here, and you're a grown, er-" his eyes drifted up and down the dress- "man, you should make that decision yourself."
