"What? No!" Isi yelped as quietly as she could to Zuri, looking at her pleadingly. No, she didn't want to split up! They wouldn't stand a chance alone. But then again, they didn't exactly stand a chance to begin with. Aghast, she stared at the chase that ensued between the two, and dared a glance back at 'her' hyena. Good gods, was she big.

She looked at her for a moment, her fur on end and her blood running with electricity. Then the lioness ran, her black legs pumping hard as she ran towards Pride rock. She had to get there, with Zuri or not. Hopefully Zuri would be okay, and more importantly, so would Isi!

The young hyena was right. Zuri was headed the wrong direction. She was headed away from the large cliff, not closer to it! Not only that, but the only place Zuri was running towards was a dead end! A large pile of bones stood in her path, blocking her from being able to escape.

Perhaps if she were able to climb or leap over the pile of bones. She had little time to think about it, she was getting closer and closer each second. Only several seconds went by before she was a few feet away from the pile.

Zuri leapt off the ground, digging her claws into the pile, trying to pull herself up. The pile was loose and started to fall apart, several bones falling down as she hung on. If she continued to stay like this, the pile would only collapse on top of her. She had to keep moving!

Zuri pushed herself up with her hind legs, leaping up, hoping to jump over the pile. However, she only crashed down into the side of it, crumpling beneath some bones. She remained still in pain and panic as bones laid on top of her, holding her down. The hyena would be there soon, no doubt, and find Zuri trapped in the pile.

Oh, what could she possibly do now?

Shira sighed, "Pity... I thought you would have ran faster..." with a shrug, she bounded after her. Her golden fur danced between bones and raced through inside paths through bones, rampaging through them without much care. The thrill of the chase and a possible kill was fueling her. She moved about, the lioness in her perifieral vision.

"Come now, you must do better than that!" she called out, slowly running down a slope that would soon intersect with the path the lioness was taking. The the only hinderance was the skull that faced her. Well... it seem that would have to break now, wouldn't it?

Ophos slowed down before the trapped lioness. He scoffed and shook his head.

"You are just pathetic... my friend could do a lot better than you, and he's just a cub. At least when I chase him, he could avoid me..." he placed a paw on a bone and flicked it off. "Why did you even come here anyway? Are you just that stupid? This graveyard is the home of the Graveyard pack, we are your damn rival species. Do you even have a brain in there?"

He flicked off another bone. It was apparently he did not want to harm her... not yet.

((OOC: Since Crowfoot hasn't replied yet, I'll post my reply so we can get through some of the RP between Ophos and Zuri, seeing as Zuri and Isipho are seperated at this point anyways, I don't think it would be a problem.))

Zuri felt the weight of the bones coming off her slowly. She knew that the hyena must be on his way down to get her. Zuri needed to act - and act fast.

Pushing her body as hard as she could, she leapt out from the pile of bones, just past the hyena. She stood behind him, proud that she was able to get out, but still knowing that she was not yet safe.

"Hey," she said, provoking the hyena's attention for some reason that she was unable to find. "I'll make you a deal. You let me go free and this whole thing will be forgotten about. Or you can continue to chase me and waste your energy. You won't succeed."

Zuri instantly regretted these words as they came out of her mouth. Provoking the hyena was probably the worst decision she could make. She knew the hyena is much more powerful than she is, especially on its turf. Yet, the words gave Zuri a new feeling of confidence. Whether the confidence had any reason to support it was another story.

He jerked his head back with a grin. Quick thinker and a body to keep up. If one's mind and see things so quickly but the body cannot keep up with it, it's useless. He flicked his tail and turned to.

"I could careless if you died here or died at the border, I am not the only hyena that is on patrol here. And my mother's occupied. If you don't get killed by me, then by all means get killed by the other ones closer to the border," he shrugged.

"I had every intention to let you go if you just stayed in hiding. Could have just said that I could not find you. However, it seems that you truly were stupid to come out in front of me. So I guess that means, I will have to add another lion kill to my name."

He bunched up into a ball and sprung at her with snapping jaws. He was quick but his power was much less than his mother's. However, that did not mean that the bite was weak, no it was still gonna hurt. A lot.

He landed in front of her before glancing at her.

"I suggest you run, you stand a better chance against me than anyone else out here."

The hyena certainly didn't have to tell Zuri that twice - the hyena tossing himself at her so aggressively was perhaps the scariest and most intimidating things she has ever seen in her young life.

In a heartbeat, Zuri leapt off the ground, tossing in the air to turn her body. As soon as one paw touched ground, she started to run as quickly as she could away. There was a moment's delay before she actually started to move where she stumbled a bit from her nerves in the complicated stunt.

"Please don't hurt me!" she shouted, begging for mercy as she ran away. She paused for a moment and turned back to the hyena. "Please. I just want to see my family again!"

Ophos remained in a run, not a sprint unlike the female lion in front of him. He had to look like he was actually trying. He purposely cut his leg on a few out stretched bones. He needed an excuse to why the female had gotten away, after all, someone might have seen him chasing her already. More specifically, his mom.

"I'll hurt you more than you have your life when I catch you, lioness!" he barked as he slowly picked up speed. He ran a bit faster to make his own act a slight more convincing, even if this female did not know it. He could not quite kill a female, and even a lion more so. He had his reasons, but he was just not up to it. Not yet.

Just as he reached her tail tip, he snapped at it to frighten her. Snapping at her legs when they kicked out from underneath her. Snapping was all he could do to make it look believeable.

Zuri felt the sharp teeth of the hyena snap at the very tip of her tail. The force of the snap startled her some more as she began to run again. She knew better than to pause and look back again. The hyena was after her, though he seemed more exhausted than earlier. Perhaps all this running was too much for him.

Before allowing herself to find any pride in this, Zuri thought of an escape plan. She was on the move, running as fast as she could, but she didn't know quite where to go. She looked out in the distance, seeing that tall cliff that she was headed to with Isipho.

Isipho. Zuri wondered if she was okay. She was a strong and brave lioness, surely she must have found safety.

Zuri accelerated towards the rocky cliff in the far distance as quickly as she could, hoping she would be out of this nightmare soon.

The border line is only a sprint, jump, and a hop away. He had to finish this act up quickly before she finally got away. He snapped at her feet once before lunging up at her, paws trying to grip with blunt nails of a canine.

"GOTCHA!"

He held on the best he could, drawing up his hind legs to rest on her side, losing footing as she continued to run. He would have to let go eventually, but if anyone saw him like this, they would think twice before interferring with another's kill. At least he hoped so. He snapped at her before his head jolted back from the bouncing host.

Zuri's eyes widened.

A surge of pain rushed through her body as the hyena held grip of her. She felt the claws of the hyena scratch against her fur. The pain was unlike anything she has ever felt before, although her experiences with pain have been very little. Zuri let out a scream in pain as she tried to shake the hyena off her. She was so close to being out of these lands. She couldn't be held back now.

Her eyes began to get wet with tears. She squinted tightly to prevent the tears from dripping as she stood in place, trying to free herself from the hyena.

Ophos held on hard, to keep himself in place upon her side like a leech on the kin, holding tight and not let go. He had to hold on a little longer, but his grip was slipping. The purpose cuts from earlier were giving him more pain than he thought that he would sustain, but he still took it. He winced a bit as his head was threw back from the bouncing and got whacked by something hard. He could not tell what it was, but it hurt. His head spun as he tried to bite down onto her side. He needed his grip or else he would fall.

His brown-red eyes glanced at her as she seemed to panic, running faster and faster. It will not be long now that she would be out of the Graveyard... safely away from the pack itself. Can't say the same for that other female. She had the unfortunate fate of being stuck with his mother. The most hating and cruel one in the family. He sort of wished she wasn't, after all, he was even annoyed by her.

There was a feeling of relief as the hyena was released from Zuri's body, but this moment was soon taken away by a shocking instant of pain. Her side stung and felt damp. She must have been cut at her side. Trying to bear the pain, Zuri continued rushing forward, hoping to leave the hyena behind her. Her pace was a bit slower than before due to the pain, but it was not long before she made her way across the border out of the dark Elephant Graveyard.

She continued traveling out, far away from the terrible place, leaving behind her beloved friend Isipo and the hyenas that attacked them. Once Zuri was far enough to stop, she thought and prayed for Isipho's safety on getting out of the graveyard.

Ophos fell a ways and landed on his back on something rather hard, belly down and his head against the dirt, blood dried, bone-littered ground. He gave a sheepish chuckle. His head still rang and he knew he was more hurt than he had planned. He knew that the female was gonna get out, that was what he wanted after all. He laid there, in pain but he could care less. He could handle it... for now.

"That's.... the last time I help.... someone get out of here..."

He chuckled once again before his eyes closed. He was too tired... he was. Unconcious.
