"Well... if you eat anything with a person who makes snide remarks at you.. anything you eat in their company is bound to disagree with one sooner or later I think." She watched Aika's eyes.
"Yes well.. I haven't lived out here so long myself. In fact.. I think I ran into Bruce my first day out in these areas.. and he seemed rather new to these parts as well. In fact, he was on his way here to meet you I believe."
She nodded and listened to Aika'a little snarky comments. "Yes.. Well, I'm sure you're right. I did find it a consolation that he left me a rose on my window the next day that is the same color as my eyes... which is fairly remarkable for a boy who's only spent one day with me..." She had a smirking grin on her face now. Not afraid to show it since Aika wanted to be all catty. Then, she got up and walked closer to them.
"Ok.. I'll eat your fish Toto..." She all the time kept her eyes on Aika. She looked back at Aika. "Yeah. and you know.. it doesn't really offend me if he didn't talk to you about me. I'm sure he was more excited to be with his friends than to talk about new acquaintences. and... it's not like I need any one boy to brag about me. I have plenty who do it already." She winked at her saying this.

Aika totally ignored the girls first comments and herself grabbed some of the fish, looking more relaxed. Something with her way somehow made her feel better. Guess its when someone defend themself like that. Smiling she nuzzled to Toto.
"MMm he ran into my Toto first. Am happy he came after us, I had missed him soo much." to her, Bruce was like a brother and she couldnt imagine a life without him. He was family. "It seems as such, that he will stay here.. He moved in with my sister and already planted dozens of roses." Aika wasnt a least surprised that he had left a rose, as it was like his mark which he used sense he was very young.
Aika looked very content right now. Giving Toto a lick on the cheek. "Hon, I dont think Bruce is very much interesting in joining now. They live quite a bit away from here you know. Maybe later?"

Toto looked at Ness, wondering "So you liked getting a rose? and you don't like romance? well then what? guess he wanted to attract you by leaving you a rose? specially as it was on the first day you knew him?"
Then Toto looked back to his wife "Well we can send him a message to come over as we ave a friend staying by?"

Ness sitting there thinking. As much as she would like to see Bruce, she was becomign quite a different numa out of the experiences she was having lately. She went from having zero friends to lots of them. She went from flirting with one boy.. to having lots of flirting with many boys.
She decided to let some of Aika's mannerisms slide. Who knows.. maybe one day she'd feel like she needed to do the same. When Toto asked about romance, Ness just got this ridiculous look on her face. "Well.. It's just a rose. and it's not like I was super happy I was left a flower. But, the fact he left anything meant that he had a good time I guess. And, I always aim to please.."
She then started to feel rather proud and puffed up about not believing in romance as she often convinced herself was the case. "I really don't believe in romance. I mean.. it's ok for those who want it.. but, for me.. that's really just a trifle. Girls like me don't need someone to tie themselves down to." She looked back at her tail to smooth it out.

Muffling a caugh with her paw, a quick glance of insecurity was shown in her eyes as she looked over to Toto. She had many romantic and fun evenings before him. It wasnt romance that made her want to stay, but love. Yet, she didnt feel comfortable talking openly about it around Toto in fear of hurting him...
"Romance.. and mating.. isnt exactly.. the same.." she said while her eyes kind of flicked around. "I dont think you should take Bruce so serious tho, he never really takes anything serious himself ^^"
Still, Aika seemed to see that something in this Ness seem to enjoy tokens of romance. Maybe she just had not gotten as far as to totally appriciate them. Who doesnt like a pretty gift? Shiny gifts...
With puppy love eyes Aika looked at Toto and then back to Ness. "The best gift I have gotten is my necklace <3 I can honestly say, meeting and mating Toto is the one thing I will never regret." And Aika had alot of things she semi-regretted in her life.

Toto was surprised from Ness's tone "Ooh, you may stay like that till you fall in love? or what do you think, Koki?"
Toto started to eat some fish while watching the girls.

Ness just smiled friendly and waved a paw off like she was shoo'ing away a fly. "Yeah.. yeah... whatever... romance.. mating.. falling in love.. I mean.. I'm sure it's all nice and good. I mean.. I think the idea of falling in love is great. I just don't think that's gonna happen to me. It takes a lot more than nice words and pretty things to settle me down..."
Ness got a shiver at saying that, and her wings fluttered for a second. "Well, I have a lot of friends.. and I'm content to have them. She walked up, took a piece of fish, and walked back to where she had been sitting. "I just want to have a good time. I'm young and pretty. I need to be out having fun.. not worrying about having any stupid boys love me.. heh. I mean.. not that they can't love me on their own... I am just too much of a free spirit to be tied down like that."
She then ate her fish sitting quietly for a minute not really looking at either one of them. All this feeling of interrogation and defending herself. It was cramping her style. She really wanted to just showboat for them, so they could see how full of awesome she was.

Aika giggled amused and nuzzled closer to Toto.
"If I had mated every guy that romanced me, I would never have found my darling."
Aika couldnt help but see a little of both Bruce and herself in Ness, just not in the same.. hmm... obsessed way as they are both open for love but not cought easily. "Maybe, you just need to relax and take it day by day love" she said to Ness and grabbed a fish to feed Toto. "Here you go dear, its your catch, you are a man and you need more food" she said with a seductive tone, as to lure him to eat.
"mm.. I hope we can adventure soon again, been a while sense I was away.. But I have a new family now that I am getting to know.. Toto, he just got home from his latest adventure, didnt you hon?"

Toto ate from his wife own hands and then looked at Ness "So you think love would trap you? I guess my Kokki is free to do whatever she wants, I don't really annoy her, so maybe you just need to find the most fitting guy for your personality? or you don't like the idea overall?"
Toto licked Koki's arm "don't you wanna be loved? how no? I am sure you want that but you are scared of falling for wrong boy or maybe he traps your freedom"

Ness shifted kind of awkwardly and looked away from seeing them be affectionate like that towards one another. "Um.. no.. I'm pretty sure that's not it." It wasn't a lie, but Ness was such a proud numa for a female. She wouldn't ever give up how much anythign affected her publicly. Especially in front of two strangers who she just barely met. If they thought they could get her to spill her guts about things she didn't want to think about. They were dead wrong.
Ness laid herself low on the grass that was lining the shore. "Why does it always bother other numas if I don't want to be settled down yet? There's nothing wrong with playing the field. I happen to have quite a number of male friends with whom I am very close with. One of them even asked me to be his mate already.. and I told him like I'm telling you... that I just don't want that for myself right now."
Then, she had a humming sort of snicker to herself. "Then again, I am not like the normal numa girls you meet. I am not just up for frilliness and such things. I can play just as hard as the boys. I play video games; and I dance the night away in the swamps with my coffee friends. I lounge the afternoons around with my artistic friend. I quite like my life just the way it is.. thanks. I can't fit into everyone's molds of how girl numas should be. grow up and get mated. that is not even in any of my thoughts yet."

Aika poked Toto. "Hey stud, dont scare her."
Amused she looked in Ness direction. "You think I looked for someone to mate with?" she couldnt help but hold a giggle in "Toto is still afraid I would leave him even if I made my decision and I am happy with it.. I was quite the tease" and with that she stretched her neck proudly. "But.. one day, you just end up hooked up. Nothing wrong with having fun. I love fun. I love dating. And traveling. ^.~"
"But you know.." Aika started to pull some of her hair away from her eyes and behind her ear. "You remind me alot of Cotton. She is roaming this island as if it was her personal playground. I dont even think she manage to stay at home more than a night, now and then, in a row. Sometimes her stories about pirates and monsters scares me <.<" and with that she nuzzled close to Toto. "My protector" she purred.

Toto didn't want to annoy their new friend so he figured out it is better not to argue with her as she seemed real stubborn head like his wife.
"So, what are your plans, Ness?"
Toto teased Kokki with his tail, smiling at her then got his head close to her and whispered her
"Kokki what do you feel for? you think she's funny? cool? or what?"

Ness just laid there in the grass listening to them both. At some parts, she wanted to make a barfing gesture, but she figured she would at least make some attempt NOT to be rude. She rolled onto her side in the grass. Really... these two people... condescend on her. and try to boss her around and tell her things like they just know what's good for her when they hardly even know her. How presumptious that any numa would just take it upon themselves to decide what's good or not for her!
Ness was starting to grow agitated with the entire meeting. ~Next time, I need to watch where I'm flying, and where I'm falling... Someone please shoot me before I sit down with another couple.. gosh.~ she thought to herself.
Then, she stared into the ground, watching the wind blow the grass around. If Bruce did come; that would be relief.. wouldn't it? Or, would he take her side first? and leave her hanging still all alone.. and then it'd go from two to one.. to three to one. Ness just laid there... half feeling like just running off.

Aika first waited for a reply, but nothing came. Her ears looked as if they was turning in a tense way. Waiting to hear something. She stretched her back and put down a fish she was just eating. Feeling like a restless puppy.
"Ehem?" she asked, while watching the numa. Turning to Toto she couldnt help but roll her eyes. What kind of graditude is this? "maybe your fish made her sick" she sneared at Toto, but with a soft tone underneith, not really angry with him.
Annoyed Aika looked back at her. Here Toto invite her to join them for lunch and all she does is to talk down on numas that do believe in love. Or accusing her for a mate searching numa. Why would anyone wanna barge on someones happiness anyhow? A hint of tears show in her eyes but she quickly blinked them away. She had not mated for the matings sake.
"Whats wrong with you?" she simply asked Ness.

"Are you ok? I think not.." then he turned to Aika
"What do you think we shall do?" he asked his wife quietly
Then he looked back at Ness "agitating girl, guess only boys can fit as agitators, but girls? bah no way!.. and hey, if you don't like the way we think, you don't have to be like us, we are not demanding you? are we?"
