rolleyes Based on the evidence I've seen, it takes just as much faith to believe in evolution as it does to believe in intelligent design. And intelligent design is far more interesting, if you ask me. I mean, maybe some of you can come up with some better arguements than the people I've discussed this with in the past, but I doubt it.
Besides, in the end, does it really matter what we think? If it's evolution and there's nothing after we die, then oh well. We lived our lives how we felt like and it doesn't matter anymore. If it's intelligent design, then the people who didn't believe it are gonna get pointed and laughed at.
razz I'd rather go with the more interesting of the two theories and possibly end up in a cool place after I die. If I'm wrong, then it won't make any difference, will it? Unless of course, some other religion has it right. Then I'm probably screwed. But that's a risk I'll just have to accept. *shrug*
After all, ants probably don't know humans exist, but that doesn't make us not real. If there was a being out there who had about the same amount of advancement over us that we do over ants, then obviously we wouldn't be able to comprehend its existence, would we? (making a guess about the gap) If a human builds an ant farm, the ants don't know the difference. If some kind of greater being creates a universe, humans probably won't know it, either.
Humans give evidence of their existance by providing food for the ants (and sometimes shaking up the sand...). Perhaps some of the ants sort of understand that there is something giving them that food and the other ants think they're stupid. If there is a greater being, they seem to be giving evidence of their existance by doing various things as well. Of course, it could be random coincidence, but what if it's not?
