Very true. Artists and song really can't be defined by genre because they never share all the same characterisics. There are always exceptions.

I have a really eclectic taste in music. I like rock (and most rock-derivatives), hip hop, some rap, and all of that in different languages, too (english, japanese, korean, chinese, german). I also really love 50s-60s music, and a million other things.
I'd never dislike or judge someone based only off of what they listen to. Maybe it's not something I'd like, but I wouldn't want someone judging me just because they didn't like the stuff I like.

I don't really like much new music. I really like the 80's, 90's and early 00's. Some 70's are all right. My favourite genres are Pop, Rock, Country. I also like some dance, classical and jazz, and music from disney movies and other soundtracks. I really hate, well not hate, dislike rap, RnB, hip hop, heavy metal, umm...can't think over any other genres, so yeah. As for judging someone by the music they like, that's just stupid, cause it's just music, my friends and me have completley different tastes in music

T i f a I think it's immature to hate someone because of their music preference. I mean, who cares what other people listen to or how they feel about what you listen to? It's trivial. Really? Someones musical taste says a lot about their personality, I find it immature not to make judgements of other people based on surprisingly large parts of their character, such as musical taste. This wasn't really directed at you, but anyone who's said something similair, sorry if it doesn't make much sense, it's nearly 8 am and i'm yet to sleep ._. For the most part, I'm into slowish soothing music, nothing too upbeat, all the music on my pc is classified as either rock, blues or alternative. I'm definitely not a fan of metal, grunge, rap, hip hop or anything remotely "gansta"-ish

.:Where there is love, distance doesn't matter....:*waves* ;o Hi, MooMoo! x3
I'll listen to just about anything....I grew up loving country. (Tennessee gal, xP) And I love classical, I find the oldest and most complicated pieces fascinating and the composers genius. (yes, I'm a classical piano nerd too xD) I love rock to just listen too and have fun with, and I've found myself listening to more music from other coutries. x3 I've never particularly cared for rap or mainstream stuff but I can appreciate the work and part of their heart any musician puts into their piece, being an amateur artist/songwriter myself.

My favourite music? well i don't have a preference per say, i like all types of music, except country [ stabs country music with a spork ]
i really like Japanese and Korean Rap and Rock, i think they have a great beat and i love it when they go off there nutter xd
i like normal Rock, Metal, Trance would have to be a favorite of mine,
i like bands like Tool, Sound garden, i absolutly adore Jeff Buckleys rendition of Hallelujah and Silverchair.
as for foreign music i love listening to different cultures, i very much enjoyed watching Eurovision this year, pissed off Bulgaria didn't win but what ya gonna do emo
Indian & Hispanic (mariachi) music are my favourite genres of foreign music
as for Hating Someone for what they listen to? hmm, thats like hating someone for being a different color skin tone.. i respect peoples chocies and opinions so thus i can't hate them, otherwise i would be a racist of sorts.
Stuff related to music? Hmm, i play the guitar, who else plays an instrument and what kind is it?
