Ayden nodded eagerly before letting out an excited cry. "Ok, so we gotsa be quiet like? Which way are we going?" He lowered his head slinking from left to right as if scouting for the best path. Suddenly he smiled and pulled his head back and looked up at Zhenga. "I found the magic!" He cried pointing ahead with his muzzle where a small glint could be seen from the grasses. He nodded then began to creep forward so slowly he barely looked like he was moving.
He would get the magic water and then he'd show Ame and his mom. Then he'd get special foods and he could rule over everyone! If Dark tried to take it from him he would just make the water soak his dumb old wings so he couldn't get away from his sister. Maybe it could even make Mushyn see again, that would be good then she could say he cute he was! He giggled and looked over his shoulder at Zhenga. "Come on!" He hissed with a smile, "I can't get it alone!"

Zhenga giggled lightly at the foal. It was so nice seeing foals that hadn't been tainted by the terrors and unmoral ways of their world. Ones that still romped and played with great imaginations. One could never beat the power of one's imagination, that was for sure!
She lowered her head down low and creeped up next to him. Her thing tail snaking back and forth as she bent her knees a bit in a small attempt to hide her larger body. "You gotta be quiet. If you're too loud the magic water will hear you and flee before you can catch it."

His eyes widened before clamping his mouth shut afraid that he had already scared it off. He turned quickly to check that it wasn't gone already and could help but leap into the air in excitement when seeing it was still there. He giggled slightly and offered an apologetic lopsided grin to Zhenga for making so much noise. "You go that way!" He said pointing to the right with his muzzle. "And I'll go this way and we'll sneak up on it!"
He grinned at her one more time before slinking away from his fellow hunter to head the water off so she could get it from the back. His plan was foolproof! The water wouldn't know what hit it and before long he'd have the magic all for himself. Well, maybe he'd share a bit of it with Zhenga for telling him how to catch it but he wanted most of it!

"Ok." She whispered in reply, watching the colt slink off. Her slender tail wiggling in excitement. It wasn't often she got to play around with others. And this one seemed very intent on catching this 'magic water'.
A small giggle escaped from her mouth as she made her way quietly in the direction he had motioned. Keeping her head down low, braids nearly dragging on the ground. Her wings were tight against her back as she made her way around into a position that seemed right for capturing it.

The small colt stalked through the tall grasses weaving back and forth to confuse the water if it was watching. Then slowly, ever so slowly he began to creep toward the shiny source of the magic. When he was but a bound away he looked up and cooled see Zhenga's face directly across from him. He grinned at her breaking posture in his excitement before realizing his mistake and dropping back to the ground.
"I'll make a bunch of noise," He whispered. "And while it's distracted you jump it from behind." He wrinkled his spotty little nose as he studied the shine. To him it was the most beautiful tiny water sprite dancing about but in reality it was no more then a small quartz crystal. Realizing that he was being hypnotized by the tiny creature he set his plan into action bounding around before it shouting and making all manner of noise he could think of.

Before Zhenga could even nod her head, the colt was jumping out and making quite a racket for someone so small.
In an instant, she flared her wings and jumped out carefully as she too had spotted the quartz piece and didn't want to break it on accident with a heavy hoof. Her eyes gazed down on it before she gently put a hoof on top of it. "I've got it!" She laughed. This was too much fun, really. "Hurry before it finds a way to escape!"

With all the noise he had been making he hadn't even noticed Zhenga moved until she announced that she got it. He leaped into the air and began bounding around excitedly before settling by the alicorn. "Okay, you lift your leg up and I'll grab her up before she can get away!" He grinned as he kneeled proud of himself for coming up with such good plans. Sure she told him how it was to be caught but he was the one who thought up the ways.
He tucked his scrawny legs under his body then lay his mouth by her hoof so there would be no chance of the magic escaping. Once he was ready he tilted his head slightly in attempt to meet Zhenga's eyes. "Okay, let's go!" He said a little louder then was necessary.

Another small giggle escaped from her as she lifted her hoof quickly. "Be quick!" Silver eyes danced with glee at the little game. Though of course, it was no game to the colt! This was serious business!
Taking a slight step back to stay out of his way, her tail wiggled in excitement as she waited for him to catch it.

And quick he was. In the blink of an eye Ayden's tiny head shot forward to capture the crystal in his mouth. He pulled back and grinned at Zhenga glad his plan had worked. He ran his tongue over the rock expecting it to squish but it didn't. He blinked, tried to make it squish again and when it didn't he bent to the ground and dropped it. Looking at the crystal he felt his eyes welling up. "She got away..." He said nudging the crystal with his nose. "She ran off and all she left was a pretty crystal..." He lifted his head and looked around, the water was still all around them only now he couldn't see where the magics dancing source was.

The pink mare frowned lightly as she watched the foal and his eyes started to well up. It left a small pang in her heart which made her lean her head down and nudge him lightly. "Heeeey. Don't worry. I'm sure you'll find her again." Flicking her slender tail back and forth, the fluffy end dragged across the ground.
"Ya know. I've heard that if you keep these crystals with you, at night the little lady will come and visit you. Then you might have another chance to capture her." Her silver eyes seemed to dance in the sunlight as she tried to keep his hopes up. Seeing someone cry, let alone a foal, always hit a soft part in her heart.

Ayden's sniffles slowly stopped as he blinked up at Zhenga. "Do you really think she'll come back?" He asked his hope coming back. He really wanted to see her again and get the magic she had. he glanced back down at the crystal before nudging it a few times. Was it really like she said? If it was then not only would he get to see her again but then, the crystal its self was a present.
His spark had returned. The crystal was a wonderful gift from her, that meant she thought he was brave or she wouldn't come back. The thought thrilled him and he began dancing about. "She thinks I'm brave!!" He cried dancing about with a giant smile on his face. "I don't need to catch her, she probably put all the magic in her crystal! Right? Right miss Zhenga? Huh? Huh???"
