Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf It perhaps was not the most beautiful of days. The sun shone through streaks of thin gray clouds above the canopy of trees making the usual flicker of light that much more scattered. There was a mugginess, an electricity in the air that hinted at a possible storm; or teased with it.
Still the lone female walking through the woods found it beautiful. Perhaps it was not tranquil but it was natural and therefore beautiful to her. She knew the weather could tease on days like today and so wore a thin waterproof cloak around her slender neck, hanging in a stream behind her mostly hidden by her thigh length wavy black tresses. Just in case. A quiver and bow were slung there too, well used and well cared for.
A flame & blue sleeve partially obscured her pretty face as she lifted a hand to tuck her strand of straight white hair back behind a red ribbon as she bent down in her bright but woods-friendly garments to check on a seedling. These were not the woods Bellamue had come to think of as her own, but they were woods and therefore to be cared for. Her black and white tail flicked behind her, seeing that the sapling's current damaged state was not natural. Bright blue eyes hardened slightly. Who would come into a woods to chop roughly at defenceless saplings and then not take the wood severed? Lady Aria Starstone Dorayno walks along the path in the woods near the tower, lost in though, his long red hair swaying as he moved. He wasn't thinking about others on the path, and there for he bumped straight into the pretty skunk girl, and gave a startled cry, almost falling as he tries to back up. "OH! Pardon me, Miss... I didn't mean to run into you so." He seemed relaxed, though he looked around, as if watching, then back to her. "I didn't realize anyone would be coming up the path in the other direction. My apologies." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Her gasp of shock at the contact was more an expulsion of air than a true sound. Caught off guard the skunk female shot a whiff of warning scent into the air in an automatic safeguard. Blue eyes lost their fleeting hard edge to slip into worry as Bella had to regain her balance in such a way that she would not fall and further hurt the already damaged sapling she had been inspecting. Her bow arm, wrapped for protection went straight as her hand caught her weight on the ground. Once stable she turned her face to see who or what had run into her, black hair trailing lightly upon the forest floor. Any negative thoughts that might have started to form were pushed back by the sound of polite appology and she smiled a little up at him. She wondered what he might be watching. "I.. Apology accepted."
"It happens, I suppose." Noticing her scent the femle felt comforted by it, then worried. Many did not like the scent she made. Her eyes widened and she looked more than a triffle embarrassed -as if she expected a scene. "oh... I'm sorry..." Lady Aria Starstone Dorayno's nose wrinkled, a little, at the scent, but he shook his head at her words. "No, no no, It is my fault, I startled the Skunk lady, and a natural response occured. I am lucky it did not get on me." He moves, just a little, so that he is upwind, to lessen the scent some. "Are you all right, ma'am? I should really be more careful..." He brushes a lock of hair from his eyes, looking quietly at her, then offers her a hand to her feet. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Her sigh of relief is evident throughout her entire body, relaxing like the unstringing of a bow. "No. I'm fine. I..." Lightly she put her hand in his, accepting his offer to assist her. Skunk lady. She was not sure what to think of that. That was what she was, certainly but...
"Thank you." A hesitant smile as her white streak of hair started to slip back in front of her face. "Though you probably should. You could get hurt, not seeing where you're going."
A pause until she was standing. "I'm Bellamue." Then she gave his a real smile, soft & light. Lady Aria Starstone "I am Dorayno... Bellamue? Makes me think of my son, sort of, Belarion. Some what similar names. Maybe I'm rambling. My apologies." He sighed softly. "I just was lost in thought, thinking about... well, my son, his father... and a friend I haven't seen in a bit." He shrugs a little, and then smiles. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Nice to meet you, Dorayno." As she dusted herself off a softness touched her bright blue eyes. "You've not seen them for some time, I gather?" Lady Aria Starstone Dorayno sighs. "I've seen my son occasionally, he's often out and about... His father I avoid.... Raine.... I guess he's been busy." He sighs softly. "But ah well, I am sure I will see Dear Raine again." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Blue eyes regarded the winged male with unvoiced curiousity. Why would he avoid his son's father? But she had only just met him, and such questions were not, in Bella's mind, apropriate for her to ask. Sympathy washed over her. "Is there not a way to see your friend, within his schedule?"
Lifting a hand the female automatically brushed the errant white hairs away from her face once more. Lady Aria Starstone "I do not know Raine's schedule. I'm not sure he has one, per se. He's just such a friendly fellow, I'm sure he has lots of friends who want his company, so he's often elsewhere. But he's sweet and kind, and has helped me a lot with some... issues." Dorayno nods, and smiles. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "That must be nice..." Bella murmured softly, her eyes looking off into the distance as the male's had been doing. "To have a friend like that."
She was not solitary by nature but the skunk lady was uncomfortable with the hustle and bustle of countless creatures in and out of the main house of the family she was now a part of, however ambiguously. The human liked her scent, but others were not so enamored of it so adding that to the other it was simpler to have her own place away from the house. But it was lonely. And she had yet to make friends of her own. The woodland creatures had less intelligence than the fae of her family and could not be considered friends in a mutual sense. "He sounds wonderful. Perhaps you should drop him a note."
It felt both odd & easy to speak so simply with someone she had met so suddenly. She supposed lonliness and solitude could do that to someone. Probably why Dorayno is continuing to speak with me as well. Whatever the reason, Bellamue was quietly glad for it. Lady Aria Starstone "It is nice, I just wish..." He pauses, then shrugs. "Perhaps you are right, I should drop him a note. I do miss him, a lot." He smiles brightly at her. "So what brings you into the woods today, Miss Bellamue?" Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf What do you wish, Dorayno? Again she did not ask the question, letting the matter drop as the dragon male clearly intended.
A flicker of small joy touched her bright blue eyes that he might find her suggestion useful. The brightness of his smile warmed the solitary female to the point she did not mind if he was forcing some of its brilliance around his thoughts. Enough that she had someone to speak with even if only for a while. "I'm always in the woods. Though these particular woods, not so often as the ones where I reside." A soft chuckle, sporting more than a bit of nerousness. "I'm not certain why I headed to these words in particular. Though I believe this way is the place from which Trelweny obtained the item I came from." It ws an interesting notion to Bella, who remembered a lifetime of knowledge and being spurned from some misty memory that seemed to have followed her to this life. She was unchanged from her memory, but the things and places around her were mostly unfamiliar. Lady Aria Starstone "Ahhhh the... trials of working out how you came here... Yes, a number of people go through that." He nods quietly. "Some know... I moved here to stay with a friend. Some of my house mates seem to have... come from her head, being here gave them form, such as Love or Lust or..." He shudders. "Pride. And some aren't sure how they got here. And they spend time trying to work it out, some try to go 'home.' Some don't bother. None have succeeded so far." He tilts his head. "You are fond of the woods, then? I enjoy them on occasion, they are a peaceful place to escape my thoughts, or those I wish to avoid. I don't venture out of the ten mile zone from the tower, it gets more dangerous out there, I've been told." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Dark tresses tied back with red ribbons flowed like ebony waves as Bella shook her head slightly. "Not exactly. I know where I am, who I am -I don't need to know more than that of how I came to be here. I only remembered that the tower was in this viscinity after the fact." There was no real reason she explained that to him, other than she did not wish him to hold the wrong conclusion of her.
"But yes... I like the woods. I have some... skill there." Her smile was followed by a light laugh, her tail dancing almost playfully behind her. "I suppose they could be dangerous, if one is not accustomed to living within."
"My home is more than 10 miles from here, but I must conceed that the most peaceful parts of the forests lie on the fringes." Lady Aria Starstone "Well I know that the lady Dji's powers extend in a ten mile radius around her tower, and I for one prefer to stay in that ten mile zone. With in it, it is safe enough, there are no threats, save the occasional angry... or otherwise... anthro, and I just dislike going out there. Here, my needs are met, I am mostly safe, and I can enjoy the woods without worry that a bear will charge me down and eat me." He sighs a little. "I have no great skills in the woods, but I do enjoy them." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Bella knew she had glossed over what he had said of his housemates, though she had heard him clear enough. It reminded her aof a warning her fmily had given her of a creature with similar style name: the name of a Sin. Love ws not one of those, but she had to wonder wat the rest's similarity. It was something to keep in mind. "I tend to forget the extent of the lady Dji's powers, not living nearby. My family's home is protected by a comglomerate of magics and technologies, and though I live on the edge of that I am grateful for the security it offers."
Her head tilted, causing her lock of straight white hair to slip again from where she tried to keep it. A slight smile curled the edges of her lips. "You've nothing to fear from a normal bear, Dorayno. Omnivores they may be, but they seldom go after large prey."
She was silent a moment, thinking of needs met. For the most part she was content with her druidic duties and quiet lifestyle. 'Family' was really never far away and she could go to them for most everything she needed.
Except a friend. Friends within the family never seemed to quite have the same effect. "No skills are required to enjoy nature but the senses we're born with."
or pop out of a bottle with Bellamue thought with a smile. Lady Aria Starstone "I've heard bears can, when upset, be dangerous and injure folk... I'd rather not risk it. And being here, I do not have to worry, it is safer and I am happier that way. Besides, big cats and the like can be dangerous to." He shrugs. "I am comfortable here, in the area of the tower. I will let others adventure..." He pauses, then adds "Even if it adds to the image that I am a 'harem boy', as P... some one once told me. Bah. I may be sheltered from battle but I am not that, I know this for sure." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She could not deny that the bid cats were certainly dangerous, though she was more than tempted to defend the bears who though dangerous when angered were not easily made so. Unless one was foolish. But she ws not n argumentative sort. Battles should be chosen carefully whether of flesh or word and Bella did not wish to battle however minutely now. Even just to educate.
The rest of what he said perplexed her. Harem... she only vaguely new the word and was unable to pull up the meaning. All she could remember is that was what the Relms' pants were called: harem pants. But her vague thoughts on what a harem might be did not mesh with any of the Relms in her new family. In fact only one had a romantic interest and that was chaste enough, to the others' mirth.
Bella looked the male with which she spoke up and down. "I'm sorry... I don't follow. Why would anyone say that of you? Not that it's any of my buisiness. But everyone cannot be adventurers. There would be no balance if they were." She did not miss how he had started to say a name, which though she did not comment upon sat knowingly in her bright eyes.
"Maybe you just know different battles..." she murmured, barely a whisper. Lady Aria Starstone Dorayno opens his mouth, then pauses, then finally said "He had spent weeks saying things like that... It was part of his campaign to convince me I should be grateful he wanted to sleep with me." Dorayno looked away with a sigh. "He won, in the end, but it left me scarred, deeply. What can I say? It amuses him, but then... He's Pride. It, in a twisted way, proves to himself that he's so much better, because he had that power to hurt me." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf That was more than she expected to hear. Shock and sympathy filled her warm blue eyes. She never could bear to see anyone in pain. Her hand moved to lightly rest on his arm, to offer what comfort such a touch could. "He played you? I'm sorry."
It sounded so lame, the word simply not enough to express what his tale made her feel. So she still did not quite have a grasp on what a harem boy was. Bella understood that the dragon had been decieved, made to believe he was something less than what he was all because someone had wanted something of him. Things like that should not happen. She knew they did, but that did not make them any less wrong.
"Your battles... I don't think I would have the strength for them." It would be hard to mistake the tone of her gentle words. It was a tone more commonly associated to when one spoke of a great hero, a winner of battles or some other such feat. And she applied it to Dorayno, for having come through what he did. Lady Aria Starstone Dorayno looked at her, quietly. then gently he lays his hand on hers and squeezes it. "I only had strength because of my son. It is amazing what having a child will do for your strength and your willpower. I refused to let him go through what his father put me through. My son is a wonderful boy, handsome, lovely... Far lovelier then his father... and I couldn't let Pride destroy his heart. For my child... I could gather strength." He pauses, then adds "I think most parents would be able to do so." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Perhaps it was foolish, but Bella felt great joy in what Dorayno told her. She was a druid and knew that in nature there was balance; there had to be balance -life death, joy pain- for the cycle to continue. But she also liked for joys to exceed the pains & sorrows; for there to be that chance at a happy ending. "We can hope they would. What matters is that you did."
For all the woods experience that filled her memories by what ever magics of the Lady Dji that had brought her into being here, Bellamue felt intensly sheltered. Dorayno had called himself sheltered, but he had hurt & learned in ways she could only begin to understand. Though she had never felt its pierce, the skunk lady could comprehend that a wound of the heart or spirit hurt more than any physical wound, much less those she had memory of enduring to obtain the skills & knowledge she bore. "You found strength & used it for a great good. Like any Hero." Lady Aria Starstone Dorayno blinks a little. "Hero? Heros do great good, I just protected my son. I am no hero, just a father... mother? who loves his son and would do as any true parent would... Anything I can and everything to protect my dear child." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She brushed her white stripe of hir back from her face, tucking it into the nearest ribbon where it made a small loop against the dark curls. Her smile bordered on teasing, an edge of pushing about it. "And a parent cannot be a hero? Who else teaches and guides and shows a child how to love. All with no payment or reward, except perhaps a hug or smile that is not guaranteed and a sense of doing right?"
She shook her head softly, the loop of her white strand bouncing like a crescent moon against the darkness surrounding it. "No. A good & loving parent is the greatest unsung hero."
Bright blue eyes sought the dragons. Her tail lay gainst the thick colored leather of her skirt giving the appearance from a distance that her hair continued down its length. "Can you honestly say a parent does not do great good?" Lady Aria Starstone Dorayno looked at her, considering this. He plays with a strand of his red hair, pondering, then says "I suppose you are correct, in a way. But then many of my household are heros, for they helped me protect my son, hide him, and helped me get past my pain. And Raine is a greater hero, for he showed me the way to break past it fully." He shrugged a little, his long lashes fluttering. "Or at least so I see it." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf She watched him lightly, not staring as she did so. It as not until he finished that Bella spoke again. "And they are."
Her soft smile flickered with gentle humor and she let her hand slip from between his hand & where she had set it to turn to the sapling that had been chopped. Bending down to it as she had been when Dorayno bumped into her earlier she tenderly touched the slash mark of the cut and whispered an unknown word. A tiny green light went from her finger to the cut, glowed faintly a moment then faded. When it had gone a film of new green covered the cut. Bellamue stroked the sapling as one might a cat. Her voice was barely audible when she spoke. "I could be a hero to this sapling, at no strain to me and never think twice on what I did. Anyone can be a hero, to someone in need."
She looked back to him then, with a smile. "Heroes need help too." Lady Aria Starstone Dorayno considers, then smiles. "I suppose that's true. " He nods. "Thank you... You have... helped me as well, your wisdom helps me feel better in myself, about myself... so on. You are a kind and wise lady." Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf A gentle blush suffused her cheeks, but Bellamue found she could not say anything about how she was what he said not without her own words being turned against her. More stuborn than wise... "You're welcome. And thank you... for bumping into me." A playful smile. "I needed that, more than anyone could know."
Standing she took a step to go. Lady Aria Starstone Dorayno smiles warmly at her. "Heh I think we both did. I am pleased to meet you, my new found friend. It was a good thing for me, even if it nearly hurt us both. I have few enough friends and I am most happy to call you one, now." He nods. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf "Friends..." The word came softly like a unexpected prayer. Light sparkled in her bright blue eyes. "Dorayno, my friend... the pleasure is mine."
Deft fingers flitted to lightly touch his hand in a gesture of goodbye. She was not far enough from her new family not to pick up dome of their need to touch. "I should get back to my woods." Unspoken that the pull to come tonight by fate seemed to have been satisfied. "They're to the east of Bass'ken, if you ever have need of me. You have but to send word." With a last smile she turned and slipped deeper into the forest before the magic of the moment could be broken.
She had made a friend.

~Alchemist finds a home~ It was mid-morning when he found the pretty path in the woods, uncertain how he had come there. The young man looked at the flower lined path, a soft smile on his face for the natural beauty. That the path itself was lined with green growing things other than frail grass amused him. Someone here liked nature, put the right plant in the right place so that it would thrive. He wanted to meet that someone, if he could. A detour in finding his brother again. He turned down the path, following it into the woods. A cool breeze seemed to always blow here, perhaps drawn in from across the lake he had recently passed. It played lightly with the end of his red coat, whipped his ponytail a little from his neck. Behind him his striped tail flicked, something he was still getting accustomed to. Like the matching ears upon his head that caught sounds he never had heard before. ((to be continued))

~cottage gains a guest~ Cats or not, Alphonse had to leave the odd magical home that was now his. There were just so many... and with so many different ways of life and abilities. But mainly just the many He felt... crowded. Overwhelmed. Circling the house once, Alphonse paused to nod at the small cait, once more to be seen in the gardens though this time Amaryllis was in the vegetable gardens. Idly the young alchemist wondered where the cit's powers fell within the laws of Equivalent Exchange. Perhaps in the calories and energy she used? Perhaps it was something he could look into. Certainly it would be easier than thinking about the odd things his new 'family' was telling him. Seeing multiples of the same 'person' in different species was strange enough, hearing so much talk about his brother as a kitsusagi (and there were plenty of that species amid the family that Al could almost visualize what Edward would look like as a kitsu) who was practically family & practically mated to the venerable looking Remus' daughter was decidedly more difficult for Alphonse to swallow. Especially as both Edward and the one called Liliana were out on some adventure & he could meet neither one. It did give him hope though, in a way. That maybe he really could find his brother here. Lightly, his boots turned and carried Al into the forest though not by way of the main path only half following the blue bird that had winged in before him. It was beautiful in here. Al paused to fill his lungs with the feel of air in here. Sometimes, something as simple as breathing brought him such joy. But then, now he remembered how much he had missed such things. "So you are the one making all the stir." A soft voice spoke, without accusation, not very far to his right. Al turned quickly, shifting into a battle ready pose, martial skills & alchemy at the ready. Brown-gold eyes blinked seeing an elegant anthro skunk female, completely at home in the woods and looking anything but a threat at the moment. Yet from the bow & quiver half hidden in her black hair & the protective sleeve on one arm the younger Elric brother knew she was certainly not defenseless, and knew how to use her weapons quite well. He gave her a smile, which she softly returned. "What stir?" Bright blue eyes studied the young man calmly, her smile never once faltering. "The stir at the house. It's all over the communicator channels. They're glad to have you. Glad you're safe." Her words were soft, gentle, comforting. Even though all she said was simple information. "You like the quiet of nature?" He nodded, curiously watching her, watching him -Studying her as she did him. "Yes." Her smile grew, bloomed like a soft flower in the sunshine. "They can be quite much, sometimes. One of the reasons I have my own place, out here. I am Bellamue, young Alphonse Elric." She gave a polite bow, & not sure what else to do Al mimicked it. "My cottage is small, but it is a nice place away. Whenever you need it, I would be willing to share it's space with you."
"Thank you." The youth replied, looking perplexed still.

Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf A young man traipsed through the woods, a soft smile on his searching & intelligent face. Every once in a while he would pause, the striped feline ears on his head twitching. It was nice to have found somewhere where he had been accepted, by a 'family' of sorts that took him in unquestioningly. But there was someone he needed to find.
Besides, the day was too beautiful not to go out & see it with his own eyes.
Brother, where could you be? Alphonse Elric thought to himself as his black boots crunched upon the forest floor as he left it, heading out into an open field. His red coat snapped in the wind as it caught him, the tail of his ponytail echoing the movement but softer. He passed the lake, headed towards the cliffs. And beyond. To another forest. One in which the others like him said was a tower, where often those like them had come. He wanted to see... Maybe his brother was near there. BlackPidgeot Another, red coated young man had placed himself out there in the wilderness, giving himself some space and time to think. A small meadow scattered with the occasional boulder. One of which he sat beside, back against it and arms folded behind his head. A pair of floppy dog ears adoring his head and mingling with golden hair that was twisted into a braid.
Half-lidded gold eyes stared at the sky above, watching the clouds go by as he chewed lazily upon a piece of grass. A warm and equally lazy summer day it seemed. Edward Elric didn't appear to have a care in the world, but then appearances could be decieving. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf He crossed more lands, not really in a hurry though he had destination in mind. It was not a true destination, really. Just one of those times when someplace is picked simply to have somewhere to go. Better than wandering completely aimlessly. Besides... if he was unlucky in his true purpose, there was always the chance that someone in the area might have seen or heard something... anything.
Al sighed looking up at the sky to see a bird shadow across the sun as he stepped from between some trees into a meadow of sorts. He smiled at the bird, its freedom, letting himself mentally soar with it a moment. Another deep breath of the fresh air. Having a body again was wonderful. If only...
He glanced across the meadow, half looking at best. It was dotted with boulders and one... Brown-gold eyes blinked and the youth started to walk towards the splash of color and darkness that seemed out of place amidst the green of the meadow & the grays & browns of the stones. Far too much black... and red...
Alphonse broke into a jog. "Brother?" He called hopefully, not quite a shout. "Brother is that you?" BlackPidgeot The afternoon was perfect and he was a bit tired from his own traveling. The temperature was just right and the breeze was soothing... to the point that Ed thought that taking a nap might not be such a bad idea. Infact, his eyes closed... the only sign that he was still awake being the waving of the grass stalk as he chewed on it. However, a voice caught his attention. Far enough to perhaps be mistaken as something else.. but to him.. it was recognizable. As if from a distant dream.
Eyes opened immediately as he heard the voice again. Arms unfolding and the dog eared alchemist pushing himself up enough to peer over the boulder and look in the direction it had come. Blink. He saw a figure coming his way. Someone who seemed to share his taste in clothing for that matter. But wait.. he knew that sandy brown hair and those eyes.
"Al?" he asked dumbfoundedly, not seeming to believe what he was seeing. Not only was it his brother, but he wasn't a soul trapped in a suit of armor. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Gold hair, gold eyes, a familiar dumbfounded expression... wait, dog ears? Well he had cat ears so...
His face lit up radiantly. Alphonse's jog was nearly a run now. "Brother!!!" Ed better watch out, his baby brother was about to tackle him and squeeze the living daylights out of him in a hug. BlackPidgeot "AL!" Edward practicly lept to his feet, still in a state of shock and disbelief that his brother was right there before him... and... running in his direction... with that killer hug look in his eyes. Oh geez.
Eyes went wide and Edward stiffened, preparing for the impact which was inevitable. A cry of surprise as he was promptly tackled to the ground and squeezed. "Al... can't... breathe!" he squeaked, eyes practicly bugging out of his head. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf But Alphonse was laughing too much to hear right away, a light trickle of tears falling from his eyes. Tears felt good. Especially these tears. "Brother!!"
A pause then he was laughing again, sheepishly letting his 'big' brother loose a little. Smiling. Hugging tight. Loosening. Smiling again. Al sat back, hands holding him up from behind, feet on the ground, knees up. "We're here!"
Yeah. That seemed to sum it up. BlackPidgeot Once Alphonse loosened his grip and let Edward breathe again, the older of the two looked to his brother with a soft smile. "Yeah..." was his reply, before Ed moved forward to hug his brother back but in a less constricting fashion. His brother.. in the flesh. However, the younger Elric might noticed the hard feel of automail underneath Ed's own coat as he embraced him. Seems that Edward wasn't as lucky. Although now that metal arm came around Al's neck in a playful manner before a noogie was bestowed, a silly grin plastered on the elder's face. Ha! That's what he gets for the bone crushing hug! Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Alphonse didn't notice right away that Edward had his automail. He was too happy to be alive too happy to have found Ed!
Then... gah! caught! Noogie!! "Ah! Brother! Cut it out!" He tried to pull Ed's arm away. Strong. Too strong. He slowed in fighting off the noogie, a sad thoughtful look on his young face. Both gloved hands reached up to the arm around his neck, twisting in reverse for a playful burn. But he knew without Ed's reaction what it would tell him. Alphonse twisted, brown-gold eyes softly seeking golden ones. "Brother...?" Behind him, Al's banded tail flicked. Why was his brother not whole too? BlackPidgeot here was a laugh as Al protested the noogie, but things changed as Alphonse seemed to notice. The grin faded and his grip around his brother slackened as Edward sighed. The unspoken question was posed and Ed turned his gaze away from Al's. "Yeah.. its still there. I don't know why...I guess I'm still paying the price." His voice was solemn, as the subject dredged up old memories. Of how he had become this way... arm and leg replaced by mechanical prosthetics. Then a sad smile came to Ed's face as he finally looked to his brother again, placing his hands on hsi shoulders. "But you have your body back, Al." And the happiness that brings overcame the disappointment in lacking his own natural limbs. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf There was a softness and perhaps a wisdom in his young eyes, sad & solemn look within them as his brother turned his gaze away. Al could guess what he was thinking. He often thought of it too. Their failure. How Ed's quick thinking & sacrifice & called his soul back. Their journey to fix it... well some of that was sketchy but he at least knew it had happened.
But he smiled as Ed looked back at him again and he felt the difference clearly of the two hands upon his shoulders. "I do." He was still thoughtful, but nothing was meshing or clear enough to bring up.
"So Brother... how long have you been here?" Was that mischief in the younger Elric's brown-gold eyes, his gloved hand reaching up to scratch behind his brother's golden dog ear same as he would do to any dog passed on the street. "Dog...." He was giggling, eyes seeming to tease something ... something Edward had said when they were both still going to try to be state alchemists. ((continued page 11529)) BlackPidgeot The question caused Edward to ponder for a moment, "Not long... a few days" he admitted with a shrug of his shoulders. However, a scowl of annoyance was given when Alphonse scritched behind his ear. Using a hand to fend off his younger brother, "Quit it!" Nevermind that it did feel kinda good... darnit. Stupid... dogness, or something.
Huffing, Ed folded his arms across his chest, looking peeved. "I guess I really am a dog of the military now, huh?" Quite literally at that. One eye then peeked open and he smirked, reaching out to lightly tug at Al's tail. "And you're a cat, heh." A roll of his eyes as he remembered how Alphonse liked to pick up any stray cat he came across. How incredibly fitting for him. Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Al burst into giggles. That was exactly what he had been implying. It did not even matter that Ed had pushed his hands away from petting... he could probably do it again. "Yep!"
Then he yelped as his tail was pulled. "Hey! Not for yanking, Brother!" Alphonse stuck his tongue out then grinned. "Yeah. It's kinda... nice, you know. Different but... I think I like it."
He must, for he started to purr softly. A fact that brought a slow blush to his cheeks. BlackPidgeot Grinning triumphantly at his brother's protests, he let go of the tail and smirked. That's what he gets for tweaking his ears! However.. then the purring came and Ed's eyes widened slightly before he burst out in laughter. Finding the idea of Al purring to be very amusing.
However, once he contained himself, Ed settled back in the grass... resuming his chewing. "So... how long have you been here?" he then asked back. Ed hadn't really done much, but perhaps his sibling had? Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf Al managed a "not funny, Brother!" before laughing himself, hugging his knees and looking up at the sky. he had to think about Ed's question. "Hmmm... maybe three or four days? The first ones were kind of disorienting. Then I found this magical cabin with a strange huge family living there and they... took me in. But it's busy. So Bellamue let me stay at her smaller cottage a bit away. It's easier to take them all in with somewhere to go to breathe. Today I set out hoping maybe I'd find you, Brother." His smile brightened his face. "I'm glad I did. Wasn't sure I would." last post: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/viewtopic.php?page=11531&t=14312363#1278937178((continued Guild RP Elric Brothers Reunited))

Trelweny The druid tossed her black hair over her shoulder, careful of her unslung bow, and sighed softly. Lightly she placed her hand over the buck's lifeless eyes, closing them. The creature's spirit was gone... a hole through his skull from a bullet. Through the ears. His antlers were gone and the gentle skunk felt furious anger. Poachers. They upset the balance of life. "Your life is gone, but I will see you rejoin the circle." The female rose, striped tail high and looked around the forest she found herself. She was far from her home, but could easily find her way back. The buck could be meat for her family or go to the wolf pack that lived nearby. They had cubs...
She sighed, a small sob shaking her torso. Cursed poachers! Killing the creature in his prime for nothing more than his antlers! Angrily she wiped her wrapped arm across her bright blue eyes. Maybe she could find them. The area was trampled with how much they had moved the buck to cut out his antlers. The trail cold even when she came upon the spot. No matter... she would try. Leez0rz Mattias started walked off, unsure of what disturbed him. His eyes searched the ground and the surrounding area, his sense of smell tried to differenciate all the different smells of the forest and his hearing tried to seperate the sounds of his surroundings. He began moving, catching scent of something recent. The track of the anthro? Tilting his head slightly, he caught sight of a wounded buck not too far off. The odd picture about it was that his antlers were missing. What could have done that? He was too naive to understand what truly happened what could be the cause of it. He felt split sides. One to possibly devour the wounded animal and the second to pity it. It was odd having the sympathy of an angel yet the instincts of a feline. He licked his lips hesitantly as he moved on away from the wounded buck to find the anthro that had just come by the buck. Trelweny The skunk anthro might not have a predator's sense of smell for the hunt but she had other senses that alerted her to something back the way she had come. Not the poor dead beast, certainly. The poachers? No... that made no sense. Her tail lifted high in defense and warning. Silently she stopped and straightened, reaching for her bow. She attached the string and set an arrow. Her voice rang out calm, controlled, and bearing the harnessed anger towards the ones she now hunted. "Who's there? Show yourself." Leez0rz Mattias blinked and stepped forward until he could fully see the being that had spoke. His ears twitched as he curiously gazed over to the anthro who had spoke out. He felt the hairs on the back of his neck, stand on edge. Maybe it was the tone she spoke to him in. No one had ever spoken to him like that. The angelic feline tilted his head, looking at the skunk anthros. He's never seen one of those before. His tail twitched behind him. He was unarmed and was really defenseless. His eyes fell on the drawn back arrow and visibly shrunk back. His instincts told him not to back down, but he was never trained and was only taught a peaceful state of mind. He would never harm anything. Trelweny Her eyes softened as the winged male came into sight. It was clear he was unarmed. She lowered her bow, arrow pointed at the forest floor as the string went slack. Her tail lowered. The corners of her mouth lifted slightly. When she spoke this time her voice was still calm but certainly more gentle. "You're not one of them."
Relief and a trace of disappointment. Then a flash of hurt and anger in her eyes. She spoke again, her voice low. "But you saw? You saw what they did? Not the skin... not the meat... not the bones... just the horns for some foul trophy..." Leez0rz Mattias tilted his head slightly in curiosity. Who was them? He blinked, relaxing lightly seeing the skunk anthro lower her weapons. "One of who?" He asked softly, his soft blue eyes looking to her with curiosity. He stayed where he was, not wanting to get any closer in case there was going to be some trouble.
The angelic feline then saw the flicker of emotion in her eyes. His ears perked up, trying to catch what she was saying. Slowly, he tilted his head in confusion. "Saw what? .. I saw a buck not too far off." He lightly nodded. "But I didn't see who did it." He almost thought it would be her since her scent was last on the carcass but she would be carrying antlers if she was the perpetrator. Although, the feeling to soothe girl was strong, sensing her hurt over the buck, which is what he assume she was sad over. Trelweny A few tears trickled from her eyes; eyes that turned hard with anger. "Poachers did that. Death and killing is a way of life but that..." She shook her head, one of the tears flinging from her cheek. "There's no need for that. I was hoping to track them..."
Blink. "My apologies. I am Bellamue." Leez0rz Mattias moved to try and find a handkerchief for the skunk anthro. "I see.." The angelic feline shook his head at the actions of the poachers. All life needs to be respected, he thought to himself. Holding out the handkerchief to the anthro, he began walking closer. "Do you wish for me to help you?" He asked curiously. The feline only offered her a friendly smile. "Please, don't apologize. You have nothing to apologize for.. well, besides aiming your weapon, but I understand your actions now." He nodded. "A pleasure to meet you. My name is Mattias." Trelweny Bellamue let out a heavy sigh and reached out to accept the cat-angel's handkerchief with her sleeved arm. "For my weapon and my manners I apologized. I do not usually greet others over the point of an arrow. Poachers just make me so mad! But I am glad to meet you, Mattias." She gave him a friendly smile, the marks of her tears now dried but still visible from their trails on her face.
"I have never had help trailing poachers, but I would not mind it. However the trail is old... I regret I do not have high expectations of success." Leez0rz Mattias just smiled lightly. "I would hope so and I understand your anger." He blinked. "What exactly did you plan to do when you catch the poacher?" He asked cautiously. The angelic angel would only hope for a rational and just way to deal with the poacher. He just nodded. "Alright. Well, I do hope we are successful. Maybe if we did find this poacher, you wouldn't be so mad." He smiled hesitantly. Trelweny She handed the handkerchief back with a soft thanks, then reached behind her to return both bow and arrow to the quiver hidden by her long black hair. "I don't kill them, if that's a concern." Not outside of her own woods at least, and then only if she caught them in the act. Even then she preferred warning shots. Maiming only if she had too. "I hope to find who they are, get enough evidence and hand it over to the local authorities. I am no vigilante." She dipped her head, not quite blushing but nearly. "I do not usually anger so. This being one of the things that will bring me to it."
She wasn't sure if she should say how she sometimes threatened poachers with her spray. Yes, it was designed to repel... but the druid couldn't help feeling it repelled as many friends as enemies. She sighed, looking to pick up the trail again. Leez0rz Mattias took the handkerchief back, folded it neatly and set it back into the place where he had found it, which was in a pocket inside of his robes. "I see. I was just wondering.. in case if they angered you that much. I've seen others who would easily kill someone just because they pissed them off." He smiled hesitantly. "I see. That's good then." He nodded. He wasn't much for violence, unless it came to it. The angelic feline laughed a bit, a bit amused. "It's okay. It's natural thing for you to get angry and you have a plausible reason for getting angry." He nodded again. "Shall we go on our search?" He blinked, looking to her curiously. Trelweny Her blue eyes closed softly. Briefly. "I kill when I have to... but I don't like to." Finding the trail she smiled. "Ah... there it is." Bellamue stood, gracefully moving a hand to indicate he follow her as she straightened & started along the trail. "They may be professionals. I suppose I should be grateful they have not torn up the forest as well as take the life of that creature needlessly." Leez0rz Mattias just nodded lightly with a faint smile on his face. "I see.. When exactly do you think you have to?" He asked cautiously. The angelic feline didn't know exactly whether that was a personal question or not. He just nodded as he followed after her. She seemed to know what she was doing. If only she knew what the poacher smelled like, then he could be a bit more of help to her, maybe. "I suppose so, but maybe they had a reason for taking the creature's antlers?" He tried to reason, really talking amongst himself. Trelweny Oh. He'd heard that, had he? Her face grew serious. "If my life is in danger of course. Or the lives of my friends or family, or those I've sworn to protect." Which in essence was nature, but she was almost lenient there. The whole death and killing part of the cycle of life. But she shook her head, a hard edge in her eyes. "Even if they did, there is no reason they could give me -nor I hope the authorities- that would leave the body behind. Killing should never be for sport. Only for the continuation of life."
The trail was very cold. it was difficult to follow. She barely looked back at Mattias now, her clear blue eyes focused on the path. The buck must have been a decent age, to have antlers this size. They hit the trees every so often, adding to the foot indents barely discernable upon the ground. Leez0rz Mattias smiled lightly, looking up to sky. "Of course.." He said softly. "You just kind of sounded like my dad." He smiled lightly before looking out in front of him since he was walking. He blinked and nodded lightly. "I suppose.. and I do agree. What if they were in a hurry and couldn't carry the body?" He said softly. "I know I might sound back for sticking up for someone, but I just.. believe there's good in everyone.." He smiled a bit. The angelic feline watched the skunk anthro focus on the path. He was curious too, looking around, trying to take note of the surroundings and what was different or off about it. Trelweny Bellamue frowned lightly. "Perhaps. But then why take the antlers? There is nothing edible on that. And I'm not saying there's no good in them... just that this 'bad' is something I do not well tolerate."
Pause. "I sound like your father? Would that be a good or a bad thing?" Leez0rz Mattias twitched his tail. "I don't know..." He shook his head lightly. "I know that.. well.." He bit his lip to stop talking. He was getting a bit too confused. His brows furrowed together and sighed lightly. When he turned to look back to Bellamue. "It's a good thing, I suppose. My father would possibly kill anything the would come to harm of his family or of his loved ones." He nodded lightly. Trelweny Her face turned as red as the bows holding her hair back. She could not meet Mattias' eyes. "Forgive me. Not many know that bout me. I fear we have met under very interesting circumstances. I confess I do not always like myself when on the hunt like this." Leez0rz Mattias blinked and tilted his head. "Why wouldn't you like yourself?" He asked curiously. He was sure that he did like her. She was nice, passionate for what she believed and reminded him a bit of his father. Those were all good things. Trelweny "I do not like feeling I lose control. That perhaps I may be a hypocrite taking a life. It is... difficult to explain for the moments thankfully do not come often so therefore I have little to go off of to understand myself at those times." She spoked calm and quietly as they followed the trail. Leez0rz Mattias just listened to her, trailing behind her, getting distracted by the smallest things. "I'm sure no one doesn't like the feeling of losing control." He blinked. "Well, it depends how you feel about it. If you believe it was for the right reason, then you shouldn't worry about what others say." He just nodded. Trelweny Bellamue grew quiet, very clearly thoughtful. And also... quite sad. Lonely. She had to double check the same spot three times as the moisture clinging in her eyes without falling was obscuring her vision. Her tail swung low against the length of her long skirt. "How can I worry what others say when I never hear it?"
It was almost a rhetorical question. Almost. Leez0rz Mattias blinked and tilted his head, hearing Bellamue get quiet and whisper something. Hurrying up his pace to match hers. "Are you okay?" He looked to he with concerned, quite confused. "Was it something I said..? If it was, I'm sorry if I offended you." Trelweny The skunk shook her head in a slow, graceful motion and offered a small smile. "Oh no, you have not offended me, Mattias. Yes... it was something you said but it is no fault of yours if your words unlock things inside me I would rather not think upon. Be at ease. I'm simply not accustomed to much company."
Her eyes remained overly moist but no tears fell.
