I dunno sayshana. remember when they're on the shore and Jack's picking who can go with him and who cant'. He says to Tia Dalma, you creep me out, or soemthing like that. And she replies something to the effect of, "That's not what you said then," or something like that. I took it to mean that Jack had also gone at it with her. Also, I thought that it was implied in teh second movie, but I have been wrong before. The touch of destiny thing still weirds me out. And Arkahm doesn't believe it because I said it. He thinks I'm making it up. I have found the same thing in unconnected places. Plus, that guy who wrote it posted something about the opera of the flying dutchman about how the curse works.
Besides, they announced that after all editing was done, they cut out an additional 20 minutes to make it under three hours. They didn't htink people would go for the three hour movie. Then again, look what the three hour length did to "Gods and Generals". What's Gods and Generals, you say? EXACTLY. No one wanted to sit through a 3.5 hour civil war epic. With out romance. Or comedy. Sigh. Not important. That's why there are two volumes to kill bill. It was one movie Terentino wacked into two. This is off subject. I know what i'm reading. There is much general confusion over the ending.
Frankly, it doesn't really make sense in tune with the rest of the movie. I don't want Will and Elizabeth to go off and buy a cottage and make babies, but I don't want them to be perpetually forever apart . . . and lonely. Bah. I was getting close to dealing with them just being apart. I was not happy. I was sad, its true. Thos eof you who know me outside the wonderful world of gaia know the distress. But I was close to talking about the ending without feeling choked up. But I can't imagine them dooming their characters like that, especially with dreams of sequels. Although Kiera Knightly is saying she's finishing up her current projects and retiring acting now. WTF??? Sigh.
Let me find links! I will find links to these loverly conversations with people that I have stumbled across. Besides if they DON'T make a fourth movie, then I can believe whatever the hell I want about the ending, regardless of whether or not I can prove it to arkahm. Although Arkahm still says there's no singing at the end of the first movie. Sigh. Okay this was a long convoluted rant. I'm going to go back through and paragraph-ize it, so it's not a long rambling . . . ramble.

I didn't really think the ending was that big of a deal. I don't understand why people get so worked up about it. I mean, you don't see people sobbing over davey jones's death and he was a pretty awesome villain.

Because we desire confirmation to our unconscious belief that nothing bad can happen to our heroes. They are beyond harm and do not have to sacrifice what they want to be our heroes and we expect them to have a happy ending. In that way, we find the confirmation that our heroes are not actually invincible to be disconcerting (i lurve that word) at best. Truth be told, it's just disappointing, really. I mean, Will and Elizabeth not getting happily ever after is like Romeo and Juliet getting a divorce. It's just not the way it should be.

I do morn the passing of captain davy jones, he was a true villan and one to be revered. As for the generals... unusual trouble of dealing with the end, she will return to normal within a week or so.

I'm not sure if I wanna see it. I didn't like the second one. I'm not saying it wasn't a good movie, it just didn't strike my fancy very much.

lol. The second one has to have the third one to be complete. It's less like potc2 and potc3, it's more like potc2 part 1 and potc2 part 2. Oh well. It was a lot darker than the first one, and that's not quite as much fun sometimes.
