.:Relm's Journal:.

Okay. So I thought I had seen it all. I mean COME ON... there was the floating continant, then our world was sundered, I tranced out to make a evil painting with a traped Esper inside it, & Grandpa Strago was in a friggin' CULT by all that's holy... but hey -at least I understood that. t least there was only one of me and I wasn't, well fused or whatever it is I am with Carbuncle. And I didn't come out of a bottle like some kind of genie...

Needless to say, this takes some getting used to. Not the least of which is why I remember the same past as a score of other "me-s" and yet we're all different species. It's like we're the same... but each with our own little quirks, growing different as we live our lives NOW... It's very confusing.

But you know what? Confusing as it is I'm pumped. Jazzed. It's like a whole new adventure. This place isn't likely to get boring anytime soon, especially not with so many who think as I do. Definitely a fun comradery there. Even the -what? Audio?- who's been here the longest and probably 'cause of that hot man of hers -hey, at least she has good taste!- and is less prone than some of the rest of us to 'play' never spoils the fun for the rest of us. It's like an unspoken covenant: because telling what another of us is up too spoils things not only for her but eventually for yourself. Picked that up right away.

Things that more than mke up for the confusion & wierdness? The house is magic. I hear it wasn't once, but now it's so infused with spells & magic & stuff that it's just great. Loads of fun. I even have my own studio. 'Coulda shared with the Audio, but I can read the signs and she's ... well let's just say it's the right thing to let her keep her privacy just in case.

Now if I could just have a use for this Ruby Light of mine... ^_^

I think I'll like it here.

Kid's got a mouth on her page 10461

Trelweny
A slight female walked through the woods, her red booted feet whispering on the natural trail, probably made by some sort of deer. Bellamue would have known. But the petite female did not feel like returning to her home to ask the skunk druidess. Green eyes rolled, mint green tail swishing behind her causing her cloak to rustle. No. Bella could be far too ... boring at times. All Relm's teasings seemed to roll right off the skunk female.

But she had been useful in telling her about how to get near Dji's tower. Not that Relm had any real purpose to go there, but it sounded like it could be interesting. And in anycase, the pictomancer was tired of the myrad of creatures she lived with. Tired of the multiple versions of her. At least for the moment.

Glowing translucent ruby light wings fluttered from her back. If she was lucky, some adventure would come her way.

A black & brown demonpuppy barked to get her attention and the girl smiled, stopping to squat down and pet Interceptor behind his ears.

Lady Aria Starstone
((-ponders a little- Hmmm... let's toss out.... -thinks, then pushes the flailing Jared-))
Jared walked out of the tower, heading towards the woods, his wings fluttering a little. The drow-hawk looked around curiously, and noted the sounds of a puppy and a walking person. He walks carefully, so as not to bang into anyone, and smiles a little

Trelweny
Interceptor's hackles rose protectively, hearing & smelling someone approach who was unknown. Mint green carbunkle ears twitched on the female's head, trying to hear what the demonpuppy had. Her hand slipped into the pocket of her green harem pants and withdrew what looked to be a basic paintbrush. Relm knew better. But then, any paintbrush in the pictomancer's hand was a weapon. Rising she turned in the way her canine companion was facing, free hand resting lightly on his head to hold him back if whatever approached them was not a foe. "Hello?"

Although a question, there was no hesitancy to the quarry. It was the voice of a seasoned adventurer, despite the youthfulness.

Lady Aria Starstone
Jared blinks as the girl rises and holds a paintbrush in her hand. "Hello there... I'm Jared." The drow-hawk stops at a respectful distance, noting the dog at her feet. "I mean no harm, I was just taking a walk for some fresh air. The tower is delightful but occasionally, air is wonderful too."

Trelweny
Lowering the paintbrush she looked the male up and down then gave him a lopsided smile. "Easy, Interceptor. It's all right."

Instantly the demonpuppy calmed. Or at least he stopped acting like an attack dog. Instead he bounced around the girl's legs like a puppy. Relm laughed. "Yeah. Can't do much without air, can we?" Another grin. "Pleased to meet'cha, Jared. I'm Relm Arrowny. An this is Interceptor. He's such a good boy!!"

With that she bent back over and playfully pet the dog who wiggled happily. Relm grinned, thinking that Shadow would be having a fit. "You live in the tower?"

Lady Aria Starstone
Jared smiles, relaxed. "A pleasure, Relm and Interceptor. He seems like a good puppy, indeed." He tilts his head, and then pauses, before saying "Well... sort of. I live beyond a door in the tower, but it is not the same building, and the building it leads to is... not really near here at all...."

Trelweny
"Reeaally?" The girl quirked an eyebrow and regarded Jared as if in a new light. "So a magic door? We have a magic door where I live. Convenient devices those." She gave a stretch and her wings fluttered behind her. Relm made a face, seeing the light they gave off from the corner of her eye. She could not sneak after anyone easily with those. But then she had little need... she was always welcome to accompany anyone in her new "family" it seemed. Enough of the time. "So where is this building it leads to that is not really near here? Or if you'd rather not answer that, what is it?"

Lady Aria Starstone
"Yeah a magic door, I suppose.... It takes me home, and lets me come back locally." He tilts his head. "It's really there, my home, it's just not HERE. It's out near the coast, a distance aways. The door is a short cut. Well... My home in that I live there. I don't own it, Aria Starstone does..."

Trelweny
Relm waved off his 'my home/her home' mumbo-jumbo. "If you live there, it's your home. End of story. I don't go around saying 'Trel's home' so there's no reason you should have to say 'Aria's home' or whatever."

She glanced at him again, wondering if everyone that was what Trel had called AnthroBreedables were attractive. The one Bella had described -once Relm had coaxed it out of her- sounded handsome, and this one certainly was. Wouldn't that get awful boring...

"So's your door go other places? Either from this tower or from your home? And why walk the forest? If you live on the coast, why'n't you just walk that?"

Kid had a lip on her.

Lady Aria Starstone
"Well I suppose... She certainly isn't the sort to kick me out without good reason, so I guess indeed that makes sense." He ponders this. "I mean, she puts up with Morgathim's moodiness..." He sighs. "But then Morgath has reason. Anyways, why don't I walk...? For the same reason I don't fly."
He turns and points towards the FAR coast. "Cause it's a good 400 miles if not further."

Trelweny
Green eyes rolled. He had totally missed the question. "Espers, Jared. I didn't mean walk from here to there or the other way around. You'd need a damn airship for 400 miles. I was asking why you're walking here instead of walking there." She lifted a brow at the dark skinned male. "Both have air, don't they? Or's your home in a vacuum? Maybe I'm guessing wrong that it's on the land side of the coast?" She teased, thinking it would be most fun to have a house underwater. Something like the little house Trelweny had put in the beta tank at home.

Lady Aria Starstone
"OH. Well blame the pupfins. I didn't feel like getting randomly TACKLED and ending up on the floor. Good gods, I get tired of that. So I come here. Besides, more chances to see people I don't see all the time here." He nods and leans on a tree. "Perfectly logical for me to do.

Trelweny
Okay random thought: Jared leaning against the tree like that would make a nice painting. Relm smiled lightly at the thought a moment before coming back to the conversation. "Pupfins? I think there's one of those at my place." Wry laugh. "Hard to keep track. Loves swimming out at the lake though, or in the swimming pool."

"But yea... understand the need to get away." And to see people. "Of course you could get randomly tackled by those people you don't see all the time, couldn't you?" Not that I could blame them. Though it would be funny to see Gau do so. Just once. Then he could go back to the Veldt.

((O_O okay.... *wonders at Relm tonight*))

Lady Aria Starstone
Jared looks pained. "There are... ELEVEN... of them at my house. ELEVEN. And they're tricksters and loonies! Trust me, I'd rather not be tackled by a stranger but they aren't better and they can... TELEPORT... and tackle you from NOWWHERE...."

Trelweny
Relm could not help it. She started to laugh. "oh! You poor baby... Yours must all be full grown... Ours is just a pup... doesn't 'port well." Then she paused, looking up at him from where she now sat on the ground, Interceptor wriggling like a playful puppy into her lap. "wow. 11. wow. There's a lot of members of my family, but I think only with kitsu are there more than 10 of the same species. Some of the kitsu can apparate, but they're to 'good' do do things like tackle with it. Those that live with us anyway."

Green eyes were studying the male again and she grinned. "Want me to tackle you so you don't feel homesick?" She was teasing, that much was apparent in her voice. But she would also do so in a heartbeat, because it would be fun.

Lady Aria Starstone
His voice sounded distinctly panicked at her offer. "No! No thank you! Tackling I get enough of! No more! Pleeeeeease! Yes, 11 full grown pups... 40 something anthros... gods knows how many else of other things... It's insane sometimes... I can't help but want to get away!"

Trelweny
Her teasing smile melted into worried alarm. "woah. easy there cowboy. hold your horses and rope that steer or some such nonsense. I was only kidding. Hell, I won't even touch you, if that'd make you feel better." Getting a rise out of somebody was one thing, sending them to insanity was another thing all together. "Look. You're safe here. If ya want, I can cast a spell on you so physical attacks bounce off." She did not know if it would work for playful tackles, but she didn't bother to tell him that. Relm just wanted to calm him down. Interceptor rrERred curiously at the male's odd behavior. "It probably wouldn't see you home... but atl east you wouldn't have to worry here."

Lady Aria Starstone
Jared calms down. "No, no, sorry... THIS is part of why I wanted to walk here, were I can see others... so many others at home but all of them, every day... the insanity there can be... too much... So I come here to escape that...." He pulls a hand through his hair. "So I over reacted, my apologies.... I... should probably continue down the path... perhaps I will see you on the way back, when I have gathered my wits more. I am sorry." He bows, and moves off, holding his head, looking embarressed.

Trelweny
Disappointment flashed in her green eyes. "yeah. sure. Hey, it's all right. Maybe I'll wait here..." Slender shoulder's slumped. He was gone. "Dammit, 'Ceptor. He's not s'possed to make me feel bad... wanna stick around till he comes back boy?"

Laughing she took the dog's rapidly waving tail as a yes. "Okay boy!"

.:Relm's Journal:.

There's some new family members joined us recently. Yeah, not really that much of a surprise in this household... except that they're like Bellamue & me I. Humans with animal parts/traits. What's really interesting, is that they know of a lot of the same things I do... they have 'befores' like I do. They're not from my 'before' though. We all know of chocobos & moogles & ... well what I call Espers they call GFs or Guardian Forces & they're not all the same. Recognized me straight off as Carbunkle, and I know that rude Seifer is Bahamut -even if it is different than the Esper I knew.

Like me, there's others of them already in our big happy family. It's kinda reassuring. Anyway. Should be fun. The boys are easy to irritate. Zell especially, though there's more fun in upsetting Seifer. Rune... well she never gets upset. I like her. Too quiet though. Kinda like Terra. With some Celes. But she's stronger than either of them, just quiet, dreamy.

.:Alchemist finds a home:.

It was mid-morning when he found the pretty path in the woods, uncertain how he had come there. The young man looked at the flower lined path, a soft smile on his face for the natural beauty. That the path itself was lined with green growing things other than frail grass amused him. Someone here liked nature, put the right plant in the right place so that it would thrive. He wanted to meet that someone, if he could. A detour in finding his brother again.

He turned down the path, following it into the woods. A cool breeze seemed to always blow here, perhaps drawn in from across the lake he had recently passed. It played lightly with the end of his red coat, whipped his ponytail a little from his neck. Behind him his striped tail flicked, something he was still getting accustomed to. Like the matching ears upon his head that caught sounds he never had heard before.

Okay, so there's this totally cute, totally naive anthro that's joining our family. Thing is... we kinda know about him. From his 'before'. From Liliana. Espers... don't know how she & that cute alchemist of hers are going to take the news when they get back from their little "vacation" (hehe. I'd call it a honeymoon but they have chaperones and her guy's not full grown yet so they can't go all the way on the hanky-panky now, can they?). But I guess it just proves that Elrics are adorable. For Al's sake I do hopehe finds his brother. Maybe I'll keep a look out for him too. Sure. Why not?

I think we scared him though. ^_^ Poor guy. Guess we are a bit much to take in quickly.

Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf
It was a pretty day. Just pretty. Nothing spectacular about it, except maybe that it was not as hot as it could be for the time of year. That made it nice.

A lone girl was out for a ride with what looked like a small menagerie. Maybe nothing quite that fancy, but she rode one great feathered bird while leading another, a pair of demon pups running at their feet. One was silent, black, with a brown underbelly and golden eyes that sometimes would glance outward in a protective fashion that showed he had the training of an attack dog. The other was brightly colored, and oddly enough seemed to be a dead match for the anthro girl's ears & tail, even the ruby shining brightly on each of their foreheads.

They raced through a clearing, the yellow chocobos neck and neck though one bore the weight of the small female upon his back, her light brown curls and red cape billowing behind them. They wore bridles but no saddles, the petite femme holding on with arms and legs as she laughed out loud. So she had to get out of the house, did she? Well Relm would show them how well she would do that!

Stormbreaker7
The door opened to the house as a guy walked out. His green eyes looked around for a minute before sighing. The day had been a little tiring so far with the crazyness of his new roomates inside the house so getting out was pretty nice right now.

He adjusted the strap to his black and red guitar with one hand for a moment. The australien shepard was barely ever seen without his instrument. A song he had been working on came to his mind and he started to whistle it.

The whistling soon stopped as he heard a laughing nearby. His ear twitched and he stopped walking. Someone was around here?

Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf
The girl turned her head as the black & brown demon puppy gave a sharp bark. Green eyes glanced around curiously, looking for what he might be alerting her to as her carbunkle ears swiveled. Now that she thought about it, had she heard whistling? "What is it Interceptor? Someone around?"

Beneath & beside her the two chocobos continued to run, causing the girl's smile to return once more. It turned impish a moment later. "Helloooo!!" She called in a sweet alto voice, pulling a little on the reigns to slow the feathered steads the slightest bit. Her clear voice sounded only a little breathless, but in the fun way of someone who has been enjoying themselves and going very fast.

Stormbreaker7
Now that he heard the bark and the girl's voice he smiled a bit. The voice sounded friendly and, being a dog anthro, he liked dogs.

"Hello?" he called back and started to head over to where he heard the voice. He heard the sounds of somthing big running now. Were there more then just dogs with this girl? Soon he spotted the one he had heard and something else that caught his eye.

His eyes widened as he saw the chocobos. He had never seen an animal quite like them. "Giant chickens...?" he said quietly to himself.

Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf
oh! There was someone near! Well! Now that made getting shoved out of the house a whole new kettle of fish, didn't it? Beaming, Relm pulled back on the reigns & getting frustrated 'wark's from both creatures. But they heeded, obediently slowing to a stop.

Taking both reigns in her hands the slight female slid from her ride's broad back and strode purposefully towards the unknown male. Her green eyes spoke of intelligence as she looked him over with an artist's careful gaze. bending down she pet the puppies, adding many 'good boy's to Interceptor's rub while smiling at the stranger. "Yeah. Guess you could call them giant chickens. They're chocobos though. Riding birds." Her smile seemed innocent, warm.

The reigns were now together in one hand, her other crossing the space between them. "Hi. I'm Relm Arrowny."

Stormbreaker7
Eliajh watched the girl for a moment as she petted the dog. He smiled a bit, debating on if he should ask to pet the little guy too. He really did love animals. He stared at one of the chocobo again, his eyes widening slightly. "Chocobos, huh? Wow... Never seen a bird like them. Cool though," he commented as he seemed to stare at the birds with quite a bit of interest.

He looked down at the girl. "Cool meeting you, Relm. Names Elijah," he said and gave her a warm smile. "You have some pretty neat animals."

Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf
Relm let her hand drop, only a flicker showing as she decided that shaking hands must not be how Elijah greeted people. Didn't phase her... it was something she picked up from Zell anyway. Or had it been someone else? It did not matter, really. "Pleased to meetcha, Elijah." The warmth of her smile was more honest this time, her green eyes flicking from him to glance over her 'pets'. "They're my whole family's really, 'cept for Interceptor." The puppy mentioned stepped closer to her leg, at once looking both ferociously protective and as playful as a puppy. The girl grinned more, mint green tail swaying behind her, ruby fae wings fluttering softly. "Wanna meet them?"

Stormbreaker7
Elijah had been so distracted by the bird he had forgot the whole shaking hand thing. It was sort of too late by the time he remembered to do it. Oh well... Everyone was forgetful every now and then.

"You have more? Sure! I would love to see all of them," he said wtih a nod of his head. He took a moment to glance over at her wings and such. Ruby was a pretty nice color... He thought the wings were quite pretty.

He looked down at the dog again and squated down at bit and put his hand out to let the pup sniff it. "This ones pretty cute."

Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf
Relm laughed. "More family. Not really more pets. Though I suppose some would be thought of as pets." Her wings were fluttering, realizing Elijah was looking at them. The precocious artist was quick on such things. Interceptor sniffed the man's hand then gave a look of permission after glancing to Relm and seeing her nod. Coming beside him, the carbunkle pup leaned his nose in, tail wigging as he wanted to be greeted and called cute too. "Those are Interceptor & Rubin. The chocobos are Figaro," she indicated the male she had been riding who was the larger of the two "and Thamasa."

A gentle softness touched her voice at the name of the female chocobo, her green eyes softening and looking off as if into the distance somewhere. Then it was gone, her smile back as if it had never happened. "If you like animals, well, I guess you'd probably like my home. But I'd be leery about whether you really wanted to meet them all. Took me weeks and I'd hate to overwhelm you, seeing how we've just met."

Her eyes took on the look of someone much wiser, well versed & knowledgeable in the world. It seemed to say that she would only do that after knowing him longer.

Stormbreaker7
Eliajh laughed gently as the other pup made it known it wanted attention too. He petted both of their heads. "Not only cute, but friendly," he said. He looked to the birds and nodded after hearing their names, wondering if the bigger one had some story behind it since her tone changed when she said it's name. After petting the dogs for another moment he stood up, a hand on his strap to make sure his guitar didn't slip off from his shoulders.

He tilted his head slightly to the side and seemed slightly confused at her words. Wow... must be quite the family she had. "Weeks huh? You have quite a bunch at your house I'm guessing," he said jokingly and laughing gently again. He caught the wisdom in her words. It was understandable. They had only just met and it was a smart thing to do.

Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf
"Yeah. They're pretty friendly. Rubin especially." Relm leaned against the male chocobo. Figaro 'kweh'ed softly and set his head down on top of her beret, squishing the feather there. Thamasa squawked and stepped nearer, possessively laying her head over the larger male's back. Smiling Relm stroked the back of her neck. "You could say that. But it's fun. Never a dull moment."

Relm debated painting a picture of her massive family & decided that would likely overwhelm him too. Though that could be fun. Maybe later. She nodded at the instrument over his shoulder. "You any good?"

Stormbreaker7
Elijah grinned and took off the guitar carefully on his back, not wanting to drop it accidently. "Yeah! Well I better be anyway. I'm playing this thing all the time. Almost never leaves my side," he said and held it in poistion like he was about to play.

"I write stuff too sometimes. I was in a band until it broke up some while ago. It's why I ended up around here... been trying to either fix it or get into a new one," he explained. "Do you like music?"

Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf
A sweet smile. Seemed Elijah was with his guitar like she was with her brush. Not that it could be seen right now, safely stowed in her pocket. "Yeah. Yeah I do." She laughed, her tail flicking lightly behind her as Rubin chased its motion. Interceptor had not left his place by her feet. "Hard not to, Trel singing around the house as she does. Always music of one type or another playing."

There was a glimmer of sympathy for his broken band. She missed traveling with her companions too, but what could they have done after saving their world? Didn't matter now, here in Gaia. Though sometimes her and some of her 'duplicates' thought it might be fun to adventure together. Not as much fun without anyone else to tease though. Espers but it would be fun to pick on Cyan or Sabin again.

Her smile was crinkling her eyes with her inner mirth. "What kind of music do you play?"

Stormbreaker7
The fact that she liked music made Elijah happier. He knew he was going to like this Relm. "I mostly play rock, but I play other things too sometimes," he said and smiled down at his guitar fondly. He played a quick chord, the notes coming out quiet and smooth. "But there really isn't a better genre of music then rock I think. My personal favorite." He looked up from his guitar to Relm. She had a pretty nice smile he thought.

He was in the mood to play a few songs now that he was talking about it. He restrained himself, however, wanting to speak with the girl some more too.

Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf
This guy was honest. Relm refrained from blinking in surprise. She had a feeling that if she 'painted' him she would see nothing different than what he was showing her now. Perhaps more surprising... she liked it.

"So ... Rock." A playful grin. "Any specific type? Pop, Hard, Classic, Acid?" No act this time, pretending she might know more of any of them than the names. Just a show that she knew the names at all. Even if a style was played in their house that did not mean she recognized any particular song to be in any particular style. "Not that it matters, long as you like it."

A gentle flick of her fingers towards the instrument, smiling in appreciation for the sound it made. Relm was non musician, but she could and did enjoy music. "It'd be easier to show me what kind. Go ahead... I can see you itching too."

Her smile inviting. She really did want to hear him play.

((continued page 11558))
Stormbreaker7
”Been playing mostly hard rock lately, but nothing ever beats the classics,” he said and pulled a string lightly on his guitar. He liked this girl. He could tell she was no expert on the subject, but she did know the names and it didn’t seem like he was boring her. He nodded in agreement. “Yeah as long as you like it… music is meant to be enjoyed after all.”

He grinned after she gave him permission to play. That was exactly what he had been hoping for. It almost felt like she could read him. “Sure thing,” he said and began to play something that was classic rock. He knew it would sound better with the amplifier, but of course, he didn’t have one of those on hand at the moment.

Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf
Well, the pictomancer had done more than her share of watching people in her life and figuring out what was going on beneath the surface without her special gift that it was almost as if she could read Elijah. Growing up... there had really only been the typical bard tunes and sometimes something from the Opera House. Like that song Celes used to sing. Trel sang it often too, now.

As he started to play she listened intently, her head finding the beat & nodding with it lightly. She would not know if she was missing out with the amplifier or not. Sounded good to her.

Stormbreaker7
He played every note by heart, not messing up at all. This was probably one of his most favorite songs he took such care to learn and practiced over and over again. If there was one thing he was proud of about himself it was his guitar playing for sure.

The song came to an end soon enough and the dog anthro let go of the guiat with one hand. He looked to his one person audiance. "One of my better pieces to play. You like it?"

((continued page 11607))
Trelweny
Even if he would have fumbled a note or two, Relm probably would not have noticed unless it was blaringly obvious. As it was, she more than enjoyed the performance. Wrapping the two reigns around her wrist the artist smiled and clapped. "Like it? That was terrific!"

Green eyes flickered merrily. "A better piece to play you said, right? Does that mean it's also a favorite song? Or do you just like to play it?"

Stormbreaker7
Elijah strapped the guitar back on his back. He grinned after hearing the compliment. "Heh thanks. I'm pretty proud of that one." He was rather pleased seeing that she had enjoyed it. One of the perks of being a musician was having other's like what they play.

"Both, or at least it's a favorite out of the ones I've written myself," he answered.

Trelweny
She was smiling, nodding and then... "Wait... you wrote that?" Her head pulled back, light-brown curls spreading against the chocobo's yellow-gold feathers, a look of wonder in her eyes. "Wow, Trel sometimes comes up with a new little melody, but nothing for an instrument. Definitely not anything like that." Relm was not one who was too keen on handing out compliments. Usually she prefered to make people squirm uncomfortably.

"You should get more of your songs out." The girl nodded sagely, seeming older than she really was."

Stormbreaker7
Elijah sighed. "Yeah.. thats what I want to do. I actually was trying to do that before my old band split up," he said and frowned slightly. "Eh.. but I'll fix that soon. Even if I need to get a new one."

He smiled again. "But I'm happy to know someone liked it that much... It's good to know." He didn't feel like he was talking to just a 16 year old girl. She really did give him an impression of her being older then she looked. The thought of her age hadn't even came to him...

Trelweny
"Wouldn't mind hearing more sometime, that's for sure." When she was 10, before she trailed what would become her companions to save the world, Relm was already far too knowledgeable about things she should know absolutely nothing about. That hadn't changed, basically 6 years later. "Well I hope you can get a new band together then. Shame to keep a sound like that unheard."

The girl was smiling, a mischievous wink in her eyes. "Maybe if the others are as good as you I could be convinced to make up some promotional posters." Green eyes twinkled, her slightly twitching smile curling & waiting for the most logical question he could follow with.

Stormbreaker7
The way she said things made him feel like he was one of the best guitarist out there. He was quite happy he ran into this girl. Finally someone around who could really appreciate something as great as the guitar. "Heh thanks." He put one of his hands into his jacket pocket while the other one loosely hung onto his guitar strap.

"Promotional posters? You draw?" he asked. After telling her about his interest he was curious to know if she was into something the way he was into music.

Trelweny
"You're welcome. And no. Paint actually." A glimmer in her eyes hinted that what she said was very much the understatement. "I dabble here & there. Mostly for fun. If something catches my fancy."

It was true. In a sense. Unless something caught her attention there was little enough reason to paint, as much as she loved to do it. With or without her magic... painting was sometimes too easy. Still Relm loved it. Her fingers slipped to pat her pocket, momentarily tempted to paint a rabbit for the pups to chase. Rubin was rubbing around Elijah's legs like a cat & she giggled.

Stormbreaker7
So he was almost right. "Art huh? Something tells me you do more then just dabble. I bet you're pretty good too," he said.

Elija looked down at Rubin with his green eyes. He laughed softly and kneeled down to pet the dog again, taking his hand out of his pocket. He looked back up to Relm. "I would like to see your art. It would be cool to have someone do promotional posters... when I get this band going."

((continued page 12052))
Trelweny
Her grin crinkled with impishness. "You could say that." In her world... even without magic Relm had been the best. With magic... Well that was another matter all together.

She giggled as Rubin wriggled happily beneath the pettings, Interceptor seeming to give him a dog version of rolling his eyes. "As for seeing..." Green eyes glanced around as the lithe girl stopped leaning upon the chocobo. "I can give you a display after I tie these two up somewhere. They heed pretty well, but can spook and I don't feel like chasing them."

Or displaying that scope of my abilities yet, should I need to paint a net or cage to trap them like last time. Relm thought to herself silently.

Stormbreaker7
Elijah looked to the two chocobos. He wondered how fast they could run. Were they like horses or maybe even faster? "Sounds good. If you a hand with them in anyway I can help just tell me," he said and continued to pet the dog. He caught Interceptor's look and snickered a little at him, finding it funny.

Trelweny
"Just keep Rubin busy a moment." Relm said with a grin, spotting a good place to tie the chocobo pair up and leading them over. "Interceptor Stay." She commanded as the black & brown demon puppy moved to follow her.

Tying the chocobos to a tree she scattered some seed on the ground for them. Hm... no saddles or saddle bags. This demonstration would rely on her telling him at least something of her magic. Once she was satisfied they would be quiet she jogged back, thinking about that.

Relm scratched Interceptor between the ears with a 'good boy' then looked contemplatively at Elijah. "Random question: what do you think of magic?"

Stormbreaker7
Elijah picked up the green up and continued to pet it to keep it busy like he was told. He looked back at Relm after the question was asked. "Magic...?" he blinked. That really was random. "Well... I think it's cool though it's a shame a lot of it doesn't really exsist," he said and frowned a little. He had never seen any real magic happen though he supposed there were some kinds around."Why do you ask?"

Trelweny
Her mouth twitched and behind her Relm's carbuncle tail flicked. A bit of red glow like that around her fluttering wings flickered from the ruby centered in her lightbrown bangs. "Some does..." She said slowly. Softly. With almost a mysterious air to it. Opening her thigh pocket the pictomancer withdrew a bundle of long wood not quite as tall as herself and around only a tiny bit smaller than the pocket opening. These she set up into a stand before pulling from her pocket a canvas and fastening it to the wood. Next, her brush and an artist's palate, although it seemed impossible that the palate could have fit through the opening of her pocket. It was not a huge display, and Relm did it without fanfare. This was about her art.

She glanced between the blank canvas & the male dog-anthro. "Now... what should I paint..."

((continued page 12071))
Stormbreaker7
Elijah's eyes widened a bit. Wait... was anything of that possible? He rubbed his eyes and took a double take on what he just saw. "Wait... did you.. how?" It was like a cartoon how all that stuff was able to fit. A canvas in her pocket?! "...wow..." he said in shock. He didn't even hear her last question. 'She's amazing...!!'

Trelweny
The prictomancer grinned, but not too broadly. After all, that had not really been her magic, just that of her pocket. "Magic pocket." She explained, as one who saw such things every day but still knew how impressive it could be. And how functional. "Mine's different than the ones the wizards can make. A different type of magic. From when I was an adventurer 'before'."

An understanding smile. "But that's a long story. So.... what should I paint? Or should I just paint the lot of us, hanging around in this glade. Relm flicked her brush in a circular motion, indicating the two of them and the four 'pets'.

Stormbreaker7
Elijah shook his head to snap out of his stupid state of shock. He still couldn't get over it. "Wow.. magic pocket? This day sure is turning out to be something special," he said and smiled. Magic really was real. Quite nice to know in his opinion. "Uhm.. anything would be fine though that idea you just had sounds great," he answered and would of responded to that question the first time if he hadn't been so shocked. He wasn't used to magic. This girl was pretty interesting to him.

Trelweny
Relm smiled, 'dipping' her brush into the paint on her palate. This was part of her magic, being able to form the magic around her into real paint that would last. Unlike other 'paintings' she could make that disappeared when she was knocked out or sleeping. These paints once tested would show as real paints too.

Her art was her own though, no magic to her skill. It was simply the focus for her magic. Again and again her brush went between palate and canvas, setting the scenery, the animals, Elijah & herself. The positioning was a bit idealized, The chocobos sat, the anthros using them as comfy back supports while sitting on the ground beside them. Interceptor rested head & paws upon Relm's leg as she sat cross-legged, Rubin lay flopped on his back for a belly rub in front and to the right of Elijah. The musician was carefully leaning over his instrument on his lap to comply, smiling. Relm had her brush out & in her hand, looking to be telling an invigorating tale.

The oddest thing about the painting, was that though the scene itself had not happened she had captured the setting & the personalities of those involved that it almost seemed more real than reality.

Stormbreaker7
Elijah wandered over to her to take a closer look at what she was painting, the dog still in his arms. A smile crossed his lips and his eyes widened slightly in amazement. She had done it so well. It captured something he could really see happening. The dog anthro was impressed. It really was just like magic, best way he could think to describe it. "You're good... really good," he commented, his eyes still on the picture.

Trelweny
Relm smiled, tucking away her paint palate and stepping back as the paint dried. "Thanks. I've been painting since I can remember." An odd laugh. "Sometimes I'm teased that it's an obsession." Fae wings fluttered before Relm turned and looked at Elijah as she spoke. "It'd be nice to have something designated to paint for a change."Her grin made her wink. "Like your band & promo posters. Once you get them together."

Stormbreaker7
Elijah raised an eyebrow. "Teased? You shouldn't. You have a heck of a lot of talent here and only an idiot wouldn't be able to see that," he said and looked to her again. He might of not knew much about painting and such, but he could tell she sure was special when it came to art.

He laughed softly. "Consider yourself hired. If you can make something like that for the band I'm making were sure to get noticed," he said and grinned.

Trelweny
Relm laughed, not seeming too upset about the teasing really. "It's okay. I give as good as I get. And they're right, you know. Art's my life."

Well art & magic. She remembered being so afraid when the Espers were leaving her world that she like Tara would lose the magic side of her forever. Whether she had or not ... none of the Relms in her family knew. they had very little recollection of the time after defeating Kefka. Save learning who their father was.

"But thanks." She smiled into his eyes. This was a sweet guy. It would be hard to find something to pick on him about. "Soon as it's dry you can take it, to convince the rest of your band as you find them."

Relm became thoughtful, her brush end tapping her chin. "How were you intending to gather a band together?" Soft laughter. Maybe I should make a promotional poster for you while you look for them. Or flyers business cards."

Stormbreaker7
Elijah put down the dog since Rubin was becoming a bit heavy. "Well... I've been just been hoping if I went around and met some next faces I might hear of about some people..." he said and sighed. He rubbed the back of his neck with one hand. So far that plan had been failing him. His ears perked a bit at her suggestion. "That is probably a much better idea then mine," he said. "Ah.. before I forget, you might want some money for posters. How much would you like?" he didn't have much on his hands at the moment, but he didn't want to go asking her to be giving him free art for free. As nice as the girl was that was a bit selfish to ask, wasn't it?

((continued ~ page 12210))
Trelweny RosePhoenixWolf
Smiling the artist waved a hand. "We can haggle that later if you really insist." There was an odd twinkle to to her eyes. "Like tickets to shows, or helping me clean the chocobo stables."

The light in her eyes seemed to dance and intensify. Likely the girl was joking about the later.

Stormbreaker7
Elijah glanced over to the Chocobo out of the corner of his eye. Stables huh? That could be pretty messy. He laughed at that either way, but still hoping she would prefer tickets though he wouldn't have much of a problem lending a hand to her if it came to that, especially if she made him posters like that. The dog anthro got the feeling she was probably joking anyway.

"Alright sounds good to me. Haggling it is," he said. He stuck on of his hands into his pockets and took another look at the picture. " And I'll be sure to give you free tickets anytime."

Trelweny
"Awesome!" Relm smiled and clapped her hands, noting how he looked at the picture she had given him. Should she tell him? How sometimes the hardest thing about being an artist was finding things that really inspired her to paint? Doing something different, that would be interesting. "You come around this way often? I could be by again in a day or so with those cards. Or at least bunches of ideas for them. I could actually get started now but I'd rather wait. Let the ideas shift & settle."

Stormbreaker7
A he looked back to Relm with a smile on his face. He nodded in response. "Yeah I do. I come out here to find a place to practice my music alone usually," he said and brought his free hand over to hold onto his guitar strap. It felt like it was slipping a little. "I have no problem waiting." There really was no rush. He had no other members yet or even a new proper name. Things were starting off slowly he had to admit.

Trelweny
"Oh, I probably won't keep you waiting long. Just don't like deadlines." She winked. "Deadlines are like diets, totally evil." Relm of course was one of those people who could eat whatever she wanted.

"But, practice?" Relm made a little pout. "Running into lil'ol me isn't cutting into that, is it?"

Stormbreaker7
Elijah laughed a bit at the whole diet thing. "I have to agree with you there," he said. He shook his head to her question. "Nah. I'm not out here to practice right now. I came out here to get out of the house. Besides, I'm really glad I met you." Meeting someone who liked music was always great and not to mention someone who could make him awsome promotional posters. He thought Relm was cool.

Trelweny
"Oh yeah. Diet is just 'die' with a 'T'." Gosh she enjoyed saying that.

Like a plant needing water, Relm seemed to blossom at that. How he was glad to meet her. Often, it did not seem many where. "Me too. Glad I met you that is." Interceptor barked at her knee and grinning Relm pet him. "I think that's why I took up the chocobo duties: to get out of the house. Don't get me wrong! It's wonderful! But it's good to have something to get out and do." Relm winked up at him.

Stormbreaker7
He laughed a bit more at that. She was funny. He liked that.

"Yeah I know what you mean. My place gets kind of crazy sometimes so getting out is cool," he said. He looked down at the dog for a moment. He really needed to get himself a companion like that. "Chocobo duty must be cool too. Riding on them and everything... is it hard riding them?"

Trelweny
Well fancy that, he had laughed. Relm laughed too. It was kind of nice, not being the only one laughing.

"Hard to ride a chocobo?" Relm thought a moment. "Well I don't think so. They're not as smart as horses, but they're loads easier to hang on to." Tilting her head she looked Elijah over. "Why? Want to try?"

Stormbreaker7
Elijah looked over to the two chocobos. There were two of them and it sounded fun to do. "Sure if you don't mind teaching me," he said and looked back at her. This seemed like it could be fun.

Trelweny
Relm beamed. It was not often she was able to do something productive other than magic or painting. "Don't mind at all!"

Actually, she seemed quite enthusiastic about it even bouncing up. Green eyes lit upon his guitar and Relm paused. "You're not going to want to wear or carry that while learning. We should find a safe place to put it."

Stormbreaker7
Elijah glanced back at his guitar and frowned for a moment. "Hm.. you have a point," he said. The thing was praticually attached to him half the time so parting with it was something he disliked to do, but he wanted to ride a chocobo so it had to be done. He took off the strap and looked around for someplace he could hide it. Better to put it somewhere safe then to have it fly off or something when he was riding. "Hm... maybe if I put it into a bush..." he mumbled. That might not be the safest place to put it, but he could hide it decently.

Trelweny
Green eyes flickered. Damn. It would be easy to 'paint' a protective place for the instrument but Relm didn't want to advertise her own magic yet still. Better he thought of her as just a normal girl ... not some magic freak.

But she could put one up after it was set out of the way. "Or in a tree? Tie it to a trunk?"

Stormbreaker7
Elijah grinned. "Good idea!" he said and took the strap completely off the guitar so he could use it to tie to the tree. He stuck his tongue out slightly as he tied a knot, trying to make sure it was tight enough so it would be safe and not break any strings. "Alright... that should do it," he said after he was done.

Trelweny
Thamasa warked as the hand neared then settled into a more happy kweh as she was petted. The pictomancer grinned. "Oh good. That at least starts you with some basics. Like the basic way to sit." She laughed, a look in her eyes saying that he would not believe how some people could not get that idea down. "It's easier to stay on a chocobo. More to hold on to, because you can wrap your arms all the way around their neck if nothing else. And you sit more forward, even in a saddle. Not the most dignified thing, but from pictures I'd say better than riding camels."

She grinned. "Wanna try getting on? You have to grab the skin of her neck and swing your leg over. They can lower for a rider sometimes, but that's rare."

Stormbreaker7
As he petted Thamasa, he listened to what Relm said. He laughed a little. It was true. A lot of people couldn't even sit right, always lazily slouching back and such. The hand petting the chocobo slid back onto the bird's neck as Elijah grabbed the skin of the neck with his other hand as instructed. He swung his leg around next and climbed on top. "Like that, right?" he asked as he looked over to Relm. He adjusted himself so he would be sitting properly on the bird.

Trelweny
The chocobo of course squawked as her neck was grabbed but Relm had tight hold of both lead & reigns so she could not go anywhere. "Just like." She grinned, pleased.

"There's a bonus to the two legs, chocobos can't 'buck' like a horse. Might try to shake you off, but no bucking. Tugging on the lead Relm walked the bird forward."

"Now you're up there you've two choices for leading: gripping hold of feathers & skin on either side of her neck and leaning the way you want to go or..." Relm flicked the reigns over towards Elijah's hands. "... the reigns. Speed signals with your legs are about like that of a horse, though it's harder to specify with chocobos. Lots only have two settings: casual and race."

Stormbreaker7
"Good to know about the bucking," he said. He remembered the first time he had hopped on a horse. A friend he had teaching him the first time he got on a horsehad a weird sense of humor and put him on a horse that did not like strangers much and tried to buck him off. Not a happy memory though looking back on it it was sort of funny...

He caught the reins and nodded to her words so she would see he understood. "Okay, got it."

Stormbreaker7
"Alright," Elijah said, making sure he had a good hold of the reins. . He wanted to make sure if it did for some reason lose control he could do something to help. He watched her as she mounted the other chocobo for a minute He gave the bird a squeeze with his legs. It was just like riding a horse... well almost.

Trelweny
The bird was a fairly well trained one, that and tied to Figaro the female was not about to be to out of line. But she did break into a light run, a fast pace indeed with her long legs.

Relm whooped as she kicked the male into pace with Thamasa, looking over with bright eyes to see how Elijah was taking this ride. The moment she thought he looked overwhelmed or green or about to fall Relm was prepared to pull the chocobos to a halt.

((continued page 12292))
Stormbreaker7
Elijah kept a good hold onto the chocobo as he enjoyed the ride. It would of been something like a pony ride if it hadn't been for the faster pace that the bird was going at. A grin spread across his face. The ride seemed to be pretty easy so far. Now he just had to make sure it stayed that way. He glanced down at the bird he was riding for a moment with his green eyes before looking around for a moment and then back to Relm. "Am I doing alright?"

Trelweny
The pictomancer grinned, leaning further over the neck of her ride. "Yup!!" Her mint green tail wagged in the air behind her. "Trick is to keep hold, and you've got that pretty good!"

Relm nodded her head to his hands. "Guitar strong hands." Her eyes twinkled, as if it was something of a pleasant joke.

Stormbreaker7
Elijah nodded his head once and chuckled a little at the joke. "Heh thanks," he said and slightly tightened his grip. He wondered if Relm's dogs had trouble keeping up with the larger birds. He also had to wonder where such birds came from. Never had he seen creatures like them. "Hey Relm... where are these birds from anyway?" he asked, curiously.

((continued page 12318 ))
Stormbreaker7
Wait.. so.. she was saying she came from another world altogether. His eyes widened a bit. Was she lying to him? No... Relm didn't seem like the type from what he knew so far and she didn't seem like she was joking. "Wait a minute.. so you're telling me you come from some other place far from here?" he asked. He didn't seem like he didn't believe her, more like he was completely surprised about it. "Wow... and these birds too....? Wow.."

Trelweny
Relm winced a little. Damn. Couldn't she have explained that without bringing herself into the equation? Well, too late now. "Eh... yeah. Pretty much." Her eyes darted back and forth across their path, avoiding making eye contact. Then she smiled & looked back. "I like it better here though. Miss some of the people I knew then, but theres more things to do here. Like seeing a band play a show."

The pictomancer winked. "Besides... there's always a chance someone'll show up. Like Interceptor." The dog barked. "He still has Shadow's training, but he's different than the Interceptor I remember in size & shape." She shrugged. "Little things. He's still 'ceptor though. Still a sweet little doggy." NOw she was leaning over the side of her chocobo, talking sweetly to the demonpuppy and scratching his head.

Stormbreaker7
Elijah watched her though his eyes seemed distant. So she was someone who wasn't even from the same planet so to speak? It was hard for him to believe he would admit... but somehow he could. Perhaps he just had a feeling?

He shook himself out of his thoughts and smiled a bit, laughing a bit. "Wow.. you learn something new everyday I guess," he said and scratched the back of his head. He had been leaning a bit off the chocobo without noticing, but caught himself before he fell off. Guess he was a little stunned.

Trelweny
Relm looked back up at him, a worried look in her green eyes even as she smiled. "It's... kinda hard to absorb I guess. I mean... I know it was tough to grasp when I showed up here, for me and I was used to strange things happening."

She gave him another, odd sort of smile. Almost an apology but more 'yeah I know this is weird stuff, sorry I dragged you into this.' "I don't know about all over, but where I live there's quite a few of us. From different places I mean."

The girl looked down at her hands buried in Figaro's feathers. Figaro... for the mechanical kingdom that could bury itself beneath the desert and travel under the mountains. Figaro, where her companions King Edgar & his twin brother Sabin hailed. She missed her companions more than she cared to admit. "I usually don't talk about it. That home. Didn't know how else to explain where the chocobos came from." That admission was just as tough.

Stormbreaker7
Elijah frowned, noticing she seemd worried about how he reacted. Had she gotten the wrong idea? "Huh? Oh no, no, it's fine. I actually think it's pretty cool, it's just..." he sighed," Just guess I'm not used to that kind of stuff. My life must seem pretty lame compared to yours," he chuckled nervously and shrugged. "Sorry if I forced something out of you, you didn't want to talk about. I won't go spreading it around if you don't want me too."

Trelweny
"Oh no." Relm shook her head, light brown curls bouncing around her face, swaying as she stopped and smiled at him. "Being in a band... I don't think that's lame! It's cool!" Her smile gained a new warmth, reassuring. "You can tell others if you want. I don't mind. Just..." She blushed. "Well not everyone would be as accepting of it as you are. That's why I wouldn't have said. Wouldn't want to... you know... put you off."

Because when it came down to it, the little carbuncle did not have a whole lot of friends. The chocobos & the demonpups didn't count.

Stormbreaker7
"Well... I guess it is a little different," he said and laughed gently. Well it wasn't like making a band was a easy thing. He smiled at her. "Ah I see... yeah I am kind of like that I guess. No use freaking out though there isn't any real reason to be freaking out in the first place. It's just so... amazing," he nodded, thinking he used to right word. "Not put off at all."

Trelweny
She gave an obvious and completely honest sigh of relief. Then her eyes were dancing, not quite mischievously. "Some would say that claiming there's other worlds much less being from one in any way would be a reason to freak out, but I'm glad you're not one of those."

Her features softened, and Relm looked more like a little girl than a young woman in her mid-teens. Not the precocious child she had been, but the lost orphan she had hidden from everyone. "Thanks."

Stormbreaker7
"Well... I'm not that normal either in a way I guess." He grinned. What did he care if his reactions to certain things were kind of weird? That was just the way he was!

"No problem. Anything for a friend," He gave her a thumbs up for the heck of it. His new friend just seemed to get more interesting by the second.

Trelweny
Friend. All clouds left from her eyes. Not that mouthy kid. Not another Relm. Not any of the other things people tended to call her. Friend. No wonder her 'sister' was so keen on her friends.

"C'mon." She said with a grin. "Hold on let's see how fast these birds can fly."

((continued page 12509))
Stormbreaker7
Elijah's ears seemed to perk at the last word. "Fly...?" He repeated. For some reason he had sort of assumed the birds were like ostriches or something and just didn't... fly. He's eyes widened a bit and he felt a bit more excited. "They can really fly?" The dog anthro had never been in the air before. Riding on a flying chocobo... now that would be some experience. His hands tightened on the bird's feathers a bit.

Trelweny
"Well, not literally." Relm correct herself sheepishly, giving Elijah a crooked grin. "Not these ones anyway. They're just normal. But Zell says there's golden chocobos that can really fly." A grin. "These ones just run like the wind!"

And as she kicked Figaro, they were off, Interceptor barking angrily as the pups were left behind.

Stormbreaker7
Elijah's ears went back to their normal position. "Oh..." He said and looked away for a moment to hide a slight blush that came up for naively believeing something like that. "I knew that," he claimed though he knew it was obvious he didn't.

Before he could say anymore the birds took off. He held on tightly. Now he saw what she meant by the flying. A grin came onto his face as they raced on.

Trelweny
Relm laughed as they raced, shouting back over the rush of wind in her face. Her beret had flown off at some point and now her light brown curls whipped unrestrained around her face. "And how could you know that, Musician? Seeing your first chocobo only today & me not telling you?" She was teasing him, but not unkindly, her laughter light and free. Behind them Interceptor retrieved his mistress' hat with an expression that could pass for a puppy-frown. Rubin seemed unconcerned, though he yipped pitifully at being left behind.

Stormbreaker7
"Well I do have my ways," he said, thinking of no better comeback to that. She got him there, though he knew that would happen. He had seen that the hat flown off and looked back for a moment to see Interceptor had caught it, luckily. He looked back to what was in front of him, feeling the wind whip through his face. He was thankful he wasn't wearing any hats, since he couldn't imagine how he could keep one on himself.

Trelweny
"Oh?" Relm teased playfully into the wind, glancing over to the male with a dangerously mischievous look in her green eyes. "I guess I must make it my duty to find those ways then."

Stormbreaker7
Elijah smirked back at her. "Good luck trying. I keep my secret ways pretty secret after all," He laughed a bit more, seeing the look in her eyes. He had no secrets like that so in a way he already won. Unless... she already found that out, which she probably did...

Trelweny
She might have. Not that the precocious girl would say. More fun to jest this way either way. "ha! Good!! The best secrets are those that are the hardest to get!" The tips of her ears were starting to sting from the wind. But it felt good.

Stormbreaker7
"Well I won't go easy on you then," he said, finding it amusing how this little game was still drawing out. It was amusing to say the least. His hair continued to blow around a bit. He could only imagine how messed up his hair would be after the little ride. Oh well. He didn't really care anyway.

Trelweny
"I wouldn't expect you too!" Games Relm could keep up all day. Longer even. Although, it was fun to play a game like this. With a friend. Seeing ahead was not wide enough for both birds to pass tied together as they were the pictomancer pulled back on Figaro's neck feathers & the skin underneath causing him to begin to slow. Mysidia, following the larger male's example, also began to slow. Relm grinned over at her new friend. "Safer to turn them."

((continued new thread page ?))
Stormbreaker7
The anthro dog nodded in understandment. Better slowing down then getting thrown off at a high speed after all. He scratched his head for a moment, running his hand through his messed up hair that he didn't really think about. It wasn't even that bad anyway. Absent mindedly, he reached over to where his guitar strap usually was, almost forgetting he had put it away for a while. He took his hand away as soon as he remembered. Though he knew the thing was safe he hated parting with it, but this was sure worth it.

.:Relm's Journal:.

I met someone today. Guess you could say I made a new friend. It feels... good. I'm not sure I really can explain it. Just is.

His name is Elijah and he's a musician. Not a bard like Trelweny -his music is modern. Rock. He's good too, from what I can tell. Certainly loves playing. So I offered to help with posters for his band recruiting. Really excited about this. Really. Had to paint a few already before forcing myself to stop for the night. I don't know why but I'm really inspired to paint these. It's great. Sometimes it's so hard to find something I really want to paint and having something... It's great.

I think I stayed up too late already painting. I'm repeating myself. Maybe in the morning I'll paint another one of all of us... he was really good with Interceptor & Ruben, and even the chocobos liked him. As much as they like anyone.

Espers, I'm tired. But it's nice... nice to have a friend. I never knew...

... I never knew it could be so easy.

Trelweny
Rune seemed to notice that Maryline was moving again and still without looking kept an easy pace with the shorter female. There was really nothing else she could think to say to that, so she nodded.

They continued to walk through the woods together for some time in quiet company. Rune was contemplative, but sometimes pointed out a flower as being one Amaryllis the cait likely tended, or a small he SeeD trained eyes picked up the movement of.

That was until a scattering of birds announced another's arrival. "Ruuuune!!" A lithe girl was running towards them. "My turn with Zell's girl!" She grinned, a jaunty tip to her pixie-like face. In one hand she twirled a paintbrush, on her heels trotted a black demonpuppy with a brown muzzle & belly. "Relm Arrowny, Princess. I'm not a SeeD, but where I grew up I was an adventurer & hero too." "Relm...." Rune looked very uncertain. "Aw, c'mon. Seifer said I could. Anyway. Should be the Princess' choice." Bright green eyes lilted towards Maryline expectantly and with just the right touch of childlike innocence intended to help get her way.

Tartara
>>She enjoyed the silent walk in whole, not really getting a good one by herself, since the day she stumbled upon zell. That day now seemed so very long ago. She was soon pulled from her thoughts though as the birds burst into the air, snapping her gaze forwards. The princess froze...and then there was...a woman. She coughed slightly at the 'zells girl'<< Is everyone truly so eager to see me?

Trelweny
Rune arched a brow and quirked her lips at Maryline's question but could not say no so remained silent. It seemed that the White SeeD had more than said her share this day & returned to the silence with which she was more accustomed. The artist had no such things holding her back. "Oh, I've seen you." Her laugh was friendly, light and cheerful, fae wings fluttering in mirth upon her back as she tossed back shoulder length light brown curls behind her. "Meeting you is different. None of us expected Zell to ever be more than friends with anyone, so you're quite the novelty. On top of being a princess." Her eyes were bright and intelligent, teasing silently at how Zell had wound up with a princess.

Tartara
Well...truthfully, my status has nothing to do with our...status. >>She urged herself not to blush again. The zell topic again<< I hope to think that Sir Zell enjoys my company for who I am, and not what I am...just as it is with me, for him. >>More then friends. Oh yeah, it was blatantly obvious to the house now that they were together<< But I do not mind joining you, if Lady Rune holds no objections. I was with her to begin with.

Trelweny
"Oh, Zell doesn't care that you're a princess." The lithe Carbunkle anthro said with a dismissing wave and a laugh. One would have thought she thought herself a queen. "It's equally amusing that you would like him, being what you are." Pure mischief was in those eyes now, as well as something else. Knowledge. Perhaps understanding. "I used to hang out with a King & his twin brother, plus the champion of the kingdom of Doma & the Emperor's own General." There was much mirth in Relm's eyes as she said that though she seemed to ignore the pointed look the SeeD gave her. "I would feel better remaining, though I know you are apt in battle with your magics, Relm."

"Seifer was asking for you." The girl countered with a twitching smile, green eyes dancing.

Rune wavered. Her soft green gaze flicked in the direction of the house. "Well... I suppose I cannot object..."

Tartara
>>Well, perhaps it was a LITTLE surprising that she liked zell. He was infinately different from normal nobles...and no doubt nobility would snub their noses at his presence...but that didn't matter to her. She wasn't like other princesses...she wasn't tainted like they were. The female softly laughed at Runes reaction to Seifers request, a delicate hand over her mouth<< Then I do suppose that I shall see you again later Lady Rune. It was a pleasure talking to you... >>her eyes followed the other as she started off towards the house purposely, partly surprised. Just like that she was passed from zell to rune to realm. Who was next?<<

Trelweny
Relm giggled and rolled her eyes. "Espers, but I don't see what she sees in that guy."

Grinning, the artist skipped a few paces ahead of Maryline. "Still, he's tolerable with Rune around. Which is nice."

Once Relm was certain they were out of earshot from the SeeD she stopped and turned on Maryline. "Do you like being watched like this? Really. Cause I can understand not minding being protected by Zell, but... well I wasn't kidding about hanging out with a King. He hated when he was treated special or protected 'cause of it. Unless he wanted to hold it over us or something, but that was usually with me 'cause I picked on him all the time for being a skirt chaser, which he was."

She paused for breath, but other than the smile of remembering her former companion there was no mirth in her. Relm was serious. Her 'puppy' too seemed to have undergone a change. Instead of playful he seemed as on guard as a trained attack dog. Relm reached a hand to pet his head and for that moment Interceptor's appearance was once again playful pup before instantly reverting. "Seriously, what do you want?"

Tartara
Sir Seifer seems like a fine man. Strong and dependable. >>She murmered before moving forwards, watching the other spring off her rant. How people could do that...Maryline blinked as she abruptly stopped and in an instant changed moods<< ...well...I do not suppose that you could turn around and let me 'run away' for a little bit. >>Her voice dropped slightly, becoming quiet<< Being followed like this...does tend to wear on ones nerves, no matter who you are

Trelweny
"hmph. Well he is now." Relm didn't want to go into talking about Seifer. She'd pick on him mercilessly to his face, make the occasional comment of disrespect behind his back, but not share information she had learned through obscure methods. Besides... the FTC Seifer was actually pretty cool, having taken her equivalent of that species in as a 'sister' of sorts so maybe this one wasn't so bad too.

An impish grin flickered in the green eyes. "Not a problem, Princess Maryline. But you had better not get into any trouble, and be back 'fore Zell finds out what I've done. I'll be gone out as I'm likely to do so maybe they'll think we're camping if you're gone very long." The the look of conspiracy faded back to serious. "You'll call if anything happens, right? Zell'd never forgive me if something happened to you 'cause of this. Neither would I."

Tartara
Really? >>She honestly was a bit taken back, blinking at the woman. Maryline slowly nodded<< Yes, yes, I shall call if anything should happen. >>A hand brushed against the communicator in her ear. Too bad she had no idea how to use it<< And I shall try not to stay too late. I will be back before you know it.

Trelweny
"You'd better." Relm said firmly. For a minute it looked like she was going to hug Maryline but steeled herself off an looked away. Interceptor always at her heel sniffed at the princess before joining his mistress. "I just hate cages. Even well meaning ones."

Tartara
I simply need some time to think. >>Her hand lighted on relms shoulder<< I thank you. >>With that, Maryline stepped back and move into the folige, soon dissapearing from sight<<

.:Relm's Journal:.

Good chance I might get in trouble for what I did today, but really what's new about that? Princess or not, in danger or not... hell in love with her or not, they can't keep doing this to her. Keeping her "protected" here without real freedom. I know everyone means well -especially Zell- but it's still a cage. No matter how pretty the trappings.

She'd better not get hurt though. Then I might have to agree with the others.
