Of course her father was fun. He enjoyed playing with them, he cared for them well, and was small enough for them to overpower him if they worked together... which was always fun to do, so long as she didn't get too dirty doing it. But even after that, her daddy was brilliant yet again - being as OCD about being clean as her, he was excellent at cleaning her off when she needed it. In her opinion, the perfect father.
An approving smile lit up her face as Tetemeko started washing his fur, certain the other lion would be much more presentable once he was cleaned up. She arched an eyebrow, though, as she spoke while she watched him. "You mean the way you disturbed my sunbathing with flying mud?" She nodded slightly, pondering his point, accepting it but not agreeing with it. "I see what you're saying - the dirt isn't an obstacle for your fun. But dirt is still horrible, so if it's there and in the way, you could always go and do something else that's not quite as... dirty, but still fun. Which is what I would do. Dirt makes everything not much fun for me."

Tete stood in the water where the water almost reached to his belly, and he swirled around his paws one at a time to get the loose dirt off. He stayed in the water for a little bit, apparently not something else he minded too much (evidentally a good thing if he was ok getting dirty). His front paws were the dirtiest and he had to take more time to get the mud off of them.
"I guess, but there's not much sun out right now anyway," Tete pointed out, glancing up at the cloudy sky between a lick of his paw. He was pleased to hear that he was making sense, "Yep, you got it! I like doing things that aren't dirty too, but sometimes I choose other things." Satisfied that his paws were clean, Tete walked out of the water.
"When I met Shaji, I was laying in the sun," he said matter-of-factly, proving that not everything he did was something Sin wouldn't like or would think he was weird for. It had been a nice day for that sort of thing, today had seemed like a good day for digging.

Sineri looked up at the sun for a moment, agreeing that this wasn't quite sunbathing weather any more. Gingerly, she let herself lay down, settling herself and then stretching out slowly, trying to minimise the amount of dust and dirt she got on her coat that she'd have to spend time cleaning off later - or that her father would. "It was better weather when I fell asleep. That must have been quite a while ago." She actually laughed at Tete then, an oddly delicate, quiet sound that almost didn't fit with her earlier stern attitude. It fit how she looked, though; looking at her, one would guess she was exactly like that, sweet and kind, and nothing more. "It's obvious you think getting dirty is fun. I just... don't get it. Being dirty feels so... icky," she said, for lack of a better word.
Her lips quirked in a smile. "See, even you like sunbathing. It beats being dirty any day, don't you agree?" Her tone matched Tete's matter-of-factness, not feeling like she'd got one over on him, just feeling that he'd admitted a point she agreed with.

Tete was smart enough to keep a safe distance from Sineri as he shook the water from his fur, though there wasn't much water flying from his legs as he shook each one individually. It did appear he'd gotten a good deal of the dirt from his fur, though there were darker spots on his back legs where the fur was white and the mud had been- similar to the mud on Sineri's head, only more evident thanks to the color of his fur.
"Must have been awhile, that happens to me sometimes," he agreed, glancing back up at the sky. It was nice to have a conversation where he wasn't entirely defending his own actions, they had different ideas about dirt but everything else seemed OK.
"It depends on the day," Tete answered, seeming almost reluctant to pick one activity over the other, "But I guess you're right." The best days for sunbathing were the least fun for playing in the dirt, and he usually was more cheerful the better the weather. Not to mention it took extra work getting yourself clean again. Better mood, less inconvenient work.. Even if you didn't just sunbath but did something that didn't involve dirt, as Sineri liked, it still sounded better when thought about. She was right.

She gave him a look over, noting the mud stains still on his white fur, her nose wrinkling. His white fur made the dirt stand out more in a way that made her glad her fur wasn't so... clean-coloured. It'd make it even harder for her to keep it clean, and that would drive her crazy. Still, he was cleaner than he had been, and that was a major improvement.
She smiled lazily, stretching a bit, as if remembering how comfortable it was to lay under the sun and let it warm her. "It's not a bad way to spend a few hours."
She nodded slowly, having to agree with that. "Well... yes... I suppose that's true. A cloudy day, like today, isn't good for sunbathing. But there are always other fun things to do. Clean things." She looked up at the cloudy sky while thinking of an example, and then her eyes drifted slowly toward the watering hole, the sparkling of it drawing her attention. "Like playing in the water. That's always fun... and you use water to get clean. Perfect fun."

Tete didn't need to follow Sineri's eyes to guess that she was making note of all the muddy stains his fur obtained in his little digging adventure. He rolled his eyes a little bit, but then realized that she didn't seem to think it was that bad now. That was good, easier to befriend her. It was very obvious she had no tolerance for dirt, and if they were going to be friends he'd have to be careful about it.
"On sunny days," he chimed just before she went on to describe what today wasn't good for, and then what it was. He was a bit surprised when she suggested playing in the water as a cloudy day activity. It shouldn't be too surprising, because she was right about it being clean, but it was because it still seemed like something that could mess up your fur. Tete glanced shiftly from Sin to the water, and back again.
With a smile, he turned back around and hopped into the shallow part of the water.
"Prove it," he challenged her from the water with a grin. He might be in the potentially muddy part of the water hole, but he wasn't a far push from the deeper water.

Sineri blinked with surprise as Tete ambled away from her and to the water, having not expected it at all. He wanted to play with her in the water? He actually knew how to have sensible fun? A little smile was tugging at her lips as she lifted herself to her feet, though, and she began to pad forward toward the water, tail flicking behind her. "All right, I will."
She stopped at the water's edge, apparently examining how muddy the water was, testing it with a paw as though gauging how dirty it would make her fur. Her attention was apparently all on her foot as she withdrew it from the water again and put it back on the ground, then abruptly and without warning launched herself at Tete, sailing toward him in a well-aimed pounce and grinning widely, making a loud "HA!" as she did. She was aiming to catch him off guard and topple him into the cleaner, deeper water. She didn't mind playing in muddy water - she could always move into the cleaner water after - but she'd rather splash around in the cleaner, if she could.

Tete watched her very carefully from the water, and managed to keep a straight face as she tested out the water. To him, it couldn't really be anything except trying to determine how dirty the water was. He was caught completely off guard by her sudden pounce, letting out a yelp and easily behind pushed away into the deep water. Luckily it was in water so he wasn't stuck, and not without splashing he swam his way away from the sneaky lioness.
"H-hey-" he sputtered, steadying himself in the water and starting to laugh. With a mischevious grin, he made an effort to get her back and leap at her- but with less solid ground to push off it, it mainly ended up being a big splash.

Sineri laughed gleefully as she heard that yelp, knowing she'd succeeded in fooling yet another person. It was one of her strengths, she thought. Sin knew she looked perfectly innocent and unlikely to do anything like what she'd done to Tete, and often she used that to her advantage. She let herself fall away from Tete as he stumbled back from her, standing up in the water, the line of the surface a bit below her belly.
She yelped a bit herself as Tete made a jump at her, backing up a bit, but all Tetemeko managed to do was splash water at her. Shaking her head to clear the water from her eyes, she grinned at him. "Expect the unexpected!" she said, as she reared up on her back legs and then brought her paws down against the water again, splashing him in return.

Tete was pleased with his half-success at splashing her, leaning back as she went to splash back at him again with a warning of what to expect. As he fell back, he ducked underwater and with a kick of his feet he made an attempt to swim at Sin underwater. Maybe she would be distracted with the splashing, maybe he couldn't see clearly enough to keep on the right course, but he was certainly willing to try. Besides, now he was having fun again.

Tete was right, Sin's splashing did distract her from what Tete did. What little sunshine there was made the water bright, and almost white. She mistook it for the outline of Tetemeko, and only when she stopped did she notice he wasn't there. Her brows furrowed in confusion, and she looked around, expecting to find him in the water near her, but when he wasn't in sight, she frowned. Where had he gone? She looked down by chance, and that was when she saw him. Close. Too close for her to have much chance of getting away from him now. With another yelp, she stumbled back, trying to get away from him and back to the safety of dry land, but the water slowed her movements.

Tete, half-blinded from being underwater, swam for Sin as quickly as he could manage. She swam back just as he reached out to swat at her, the water slowing his movements as well and causing only a rush of water to pass by her. Running out of air, the youth was forced to surface as gasp for air- distracting him from his attempt at a head-on attack but not from making an effort to continue his ambush by splashing at the retreating lioness. He quickly became still as he tried to catch his breath.

Sineri squeaked as Tete continued to splash water and try to dive at her, struggling her way over to dry land, clambering until she stood just above ankle deep in the water, shaking and flinging droplets of water every which way. She quickly moved her eyes back to the water to find Tete, her body tensed and alert, ready for him to make another dive at her, the smile on her face big and gleeful.

Tetemeko floated, motionless in the calming water as he caught his breath. Holding one's breath underwater was one thing, but coupling it with such dramatic efforts to splash someone was enough to deserve a quick breathing break. As he stopped breathing so hard, he turned and looked towards the alert but grinning lioness.
He paddled calmly closer, trying to determine what value there would be in trying to get her again. She was almost out of the water, and she was expecting it.. but the main reason to try something again was the smile. When he could finally walk instead of swim, he kept slowly moving towards Sin until he was close enough to pounce.
His pounce, however, was poorly executed and he seemed to forget that he was still in water and had to put more effort into getting out of the water and jumping as far as he might have without it there.

Sin watched him come closer to her, half-expecting him to pounce and half-expecting him to collapse to take a breather, and her grin turned slightly lopsided as she waited to see what he'd do. If he wanted to take a quick rest, however, he wouldn't get a long one. She was having fun, more fun than she'd had with a stranger for a long time, and she wasn't about to let him stop now.
But he chose to jump at her again, which was much better. With a sound that was some kind of cross between a squeal and a giggle, she tried to jump back, but she was standing in the muddy/sandy part, with part of the length of her legs in the water. The result was that she didn't get far. As she tried to move back away from him, the water, of course, slowed her down, and her back feet slipped in the soggy ground beneath her, making her land on her side and unable to get away from Tete completely, despite how she scrambled.
