Aoaka smiled, too. "I will make it a point to go visit soon, then. I just wish I could find a babysitter..." he mused quietly, sighing.
Debi sat down and looked at him quizzically. Her papa never acted like that when she kissed him. "What germ?" she asked.

"Do, she loves visitors and loves to show off her garden." She smiled and watched the kids. "Aren't they darling!?"
"You, you have them. Cause your a girl." He said matter-of-factly. It made since to him of course. Boys didn't have things like grems.

(( Ooh, Haru's a cutie. ))
Aoaka looked over to the kids, smiling at their antics. They were indeed rather cute. "They certainly are. Oh, right. Are there any days that are better than others to visit? I don't want to interrupt something," he said.
Debi frowned. She still didn't get what a germ was, but Cutter didn't like them, so they must be bad. And she didn't like that at all. She wasn't a bad girl, so he must just be wrong.
She stuck out her tongue at him and blew a raspberry, before going back to her own castle and pushing handprints into the sides. It made the sand crumble a little, but it was pretty.
She stared at her handiwork for a moment, a pleased smile on her face, but then her devilish side kicked in, and she pushed her arms into it, the flung a bunch of sand into the air and rolling on the sand where her castle had been, shrieking delightedly and laughing as she did so.
"Castle go byebye!' she said, holding up the rescued 'flag' she'd been given before.

"Hmm..." Tawny thought, "I think any time is ok with her. She's usually there unless she's on an Elder task." Everytime Tawny dropped by, Ivy was glad to see her.
Cutter watched the girl as she basically destroyed her castle. "Girls are weird." He said and shook his head. He then patted his castle and tried to make it bigger.

Aoaka nodded, then thought of something else. "Oh! I should ask... what is her name? And she's an Elder?" he asked, a bit nervous now. Sure, he'd met several Elder's before, and they'd all been nice. Some he even considered friends... or more. But still, meeting a new one was always a bit unnerving for the gentle Pae.
Debi, now having thoroughly ruined her castle, looked around for something else to do. Her eyes settled on the moat, and she grinned, her eyes sparkling. But first... she needed to keep her flag safe. She rebuilt a tiny little castle and stuck the flag safely in the top.
Then, she turned her attention back to the moat, and pulled out handful after handful of sand, throwing it everywhere, making it rain down on both of the children. Her demonic nature had taken over, it seemed, at least for the moment. She was very happy with her antics, though, as evidenced by her happy laughter.
Aoaka excused himself for a moment, and focused a stern look on Debi. "Debi! You stop that at once. We do not throw sand at people," he said, half rising. "We'll go home if you can't behave," he added.
Debi's eyes grew round as the ultimatum was given. Go home? When she was having so much fun? No way! But... she couldn't throw sand if she obeyed. Her mind worked for a moment, and then she smiled sweetly. She couldn't throw sand at people. So she'd throw it other places.
"Okay. No throw at us," she agreed, and Aoaka settled back down, smiling at Tawny.
"Sorry... she's a handful. I've been trying to teach her manners, but she pushes and pushes. I wonder if it's because she's a demon?" he asked, thoughtfully. He wasn't completely expecting an answer, but if Tawny had one to give, he would certainly accept it.

"Yes, she's the Elder of Flora. Her name is Ivy. She's really nice though." She knew how some paes could get nervous around elders.
Cutter threw up his hands at the raining sand. "Whoa!" He said as he watched her. She was such a baby...
Tawny shook her head, "I don't know. Every pae is different. I have three boys at home. They are all handfuls in their way."
((Thanks, I really love how Haru turned out. biggrin ))

Aoaka brightened a little at the name, and said, "Elder Ivy? I've met her, briefly, when I met Elder Hi. It was at his headquarters for the mayoral race. She seemed very nice." He was pleasantly surprised that he'd get to meet her again, as it had seemed like such a random encounter.
Debi smiled brightly at Cutter. Now that she was trying to behave, the sand went towards the water, instead of all over them. She was rapidly expanding the moat, except that it was getting rather wide in one area, as if the castle would soon have it's own lake once it was filled.

"Oh, yeah? That's awesome. She is really nice and I'm sure she would love a visit." Tawny nodded with a smile.
Cutter shook his head and luaghed at Debi. He didn't know what else to say. "That's gonna be a big moat." He then made another tower on his castle.

Debi grinned up at Cutter, happy with her Lake-ish moat. Soon, it was curving around the castle's front, with sand still being flung into the water, making little ripples in the incoming waves as it struck.
Aoaka smiled. He wondered if she'd remember him. He made a mental note not to forget to visit. The smile stayed on his face as he watched the children contemplatively for a moment.
"Would you like to make a castle, too, Tawny?" he asked. He thought it might be fun. He briefly wondered if Pol had ever made a sand castle. He would have to ask her the next time he saw her, which he hoped was soon.

Tawny giggled, "Sure, sounds like fun." She moved closer to the kids, "Baby, where do you want us to build a castle at?"
Cutter smiled up at the adults, "Oh, over here!" He pointed to a place not too far from where Debi and him were building there's. He thought it would be fun to have them build one too.

Aoaka moved to where they had been directed to and sat down. A glance up at Tawny invited her to sit down as well, and then he pushed his hands into the sand, moving aside the dry stuff to get to the wet stuff underneath.
"Should we build a big one, like Cutter's, or some smaller buildings, like a city?" he asked Tawny.
Debi watched the adults digging in the sand like her and Cutter, and dissolved into a fit of giggles. Her papa was acting like a little kid! It was hilarious.
"Dig, Papa!" she encouraged, and through a celebratory fistful of sand that scattered across the water nearby.

Tawny sat down as to Aoaka's glance. She smiled at the kids, "I think a city would be nice." She helped gather sand and started to build a few buildings.
"A city for the King to rule over!" Cutter said as he tried to finish his castle. He was happy that his Momy was playing too! More fun!

"A city it is, then," Aoaka said, and started to build his own buildings, as well. He added in a few flat curvy areas, for paths. After a couple false starts, he even had a tunnel that dove under another path. He sat back and admired it for a couple seconds.
Debi was distracted for a few moments by the sight of the adults playing in the sand, but soon she was back at work on the moat. However, she now came to a dilemma. The moat went around the castle, Cutter had said, but the city and the castle were very close. Where did the moat go now?
She frowned at the moat and put her little hands on her hips where she sat.

Tawny watched Aoaka and smiled, he was rather good at this. Must be becuase he lived around sand. She made a few buildings and the in the middle started to make a park. "Always need a park."
Cutter watched Debi's face. "Maybe the moat can go around the city too?" Maybe the city needed protection as much as the castle did?

Aoaka smiled at the park. "Of course it does. Hmmm... I wonder if there's anything to use for decorations?" he wondered, then got up and started to walk a short distance up and down the beach, looking for pebbles and shells and little sticks to use.
Debi looked at Cutter, a big smile spreading on her face. He was so smart!
"Yah! Moat go 'round!" she said, and clapped her sandy hands before continuing on the moat.
