I live very near the Rocky Mountains

Oooh, you are so lucky to live there. Are you in CO, because when I vacationed there, I decided that people in CO are some of the best people anywhere. People were friendly and helpful. They also seem much more rugged than flatlanders like me, but they weren't a bit stuck up about it.

I live in Alberta Canada actually. ^_^

I have never been there. sad I have seen pictures of the Canadian rockies. Someday, I will go there. It's just a little farther than CO.

Boston Park in Boston, Massachusetts. There are so many birds and squirrels and trees, it's beautiful! I went there and had peanuts and fed them to the other animals, besides myself. Squirrels sat on my knees, pigeons were on my shoulders, and a Canadian Goose sat in my lap. I felt one with Nature and I love it!

The animals, they love you heart We have squirrels that come to our deck to eat peanuts that we put out. When one gets there and there are no peanuts, it looks through the sliding glass doors into the house (like hey, where's the nuts). They watch us get the peanuts and they don't even run away when we open the door. biggrin blaugh

I'm good with animals (including humans). I was able to pet a dog that was said to bite and bark at anything at a Animal Shelter, but I was able to have the dog stop and he licked my hand and let me pet him, but when one of the helpers came by and saw me, she yelled at me and the dog started barking again. I was really mad at her.

There's also a beautiful place in New Hampshire called "The White Mountains" I hike there every year and it's beautiful. The air is so fresh and crisp, and except for the cold nights, it's truly lovely. The waterfalls and rivers make the purest tasting water and has the best purifier Nature has to offer (pebbles that catch stuff and dilute it so much where it simply does not exist or turns into smaller pebbles).
That sounds really nice!

My theory is that the animals can sense your intentions somehow. They know if you have a good heart.

Sadly, it seems that the majority of humans in America have lost that sense.

I think that Yellowstone Park, Glacier National Park and the Canadian Rockies are some of the most beautiful places I've ever been on earth. That's why I'm moving to Montana. razz

Hi. I am currently away from home, and just came back from Atlanta, Georgia. We went to Stone Mountain Park. there is a giant rock there that you can climb and its surrounded by a lake and tons of trees. When I saw the website describing the park, I thought the place was something man-made with some planted scenery to make it look naturesque, but when you get there, you know that humans could never made something that enormous and beautiful. I was just glad to get away from the smog of the city. (Ok, I know this is off the subject of beautiful places, but it goes hand in hand with my visit to Georgia, so I will mention it.) We were watching the news in the hotel and they said that the air quality outside was a code red. that means it is not healthy to breathe for anyone. code orange means people with chronic diseases such as athsma should not breathe the air, so imagine code code red! In all of our time in Georgia, I could never properly see the sky. At its brightest, it was a dull, grayish blue. crying I am glad to be back in Florida with the bright blue sky.

There's a beautiful church built into the mountains down here appropriately (though rather bluntly) named 'Pretty Place'. It overlooks the surrounding foothills, and is absolutely breathtaking. Lots of people get married there every year, and there's something like a six month wait I think.

I also went on a hike one day the summer before last to visit all the waterfalls in the moutns here that I could find and get to. It was wonderful.

A couple of years ago, my 3 kids and I hiked up Grand Teton in Wyoming to about 12,000 feet - just about the tree line. Along the way, we saw marmot, deer. a mother bear (the size of a tank) and her baby. and a field of yellow flowers stretching almost vertically as far as the eye could see. At our campsite was a glacier fed lake as clear as crystal and so cold it should have been ice. There was a huge cliff nearby. When you looked down from the cliff, there were some little lakes the color of turquoise. Although it was July, when we got to camp, it began to sleet. We freaked out and got our tent put up, complete with stakes and our gear inside all within about 6 minutes. We didn't know what to expect, but when we looked out of the tent a little later, there wasn't even a cloud in the sky. Later a ranger told us that that was the mountain's way of saying Hi to some new people.

wow that sounds really fun i wish i could do that

I live in a pretty awesome place. My sister was walking around our neighborhood and a deer bounded out in front of her. I always see wild turkeys sitting in the trees, which is hillarious. And I live in a very, VERY rural area so the sky is huge and the sunsets are awesome. My home has to be the prettiest place.
