I mean, this is obviously a guard thread, but with the screwing around we drummers do, there is a lot of head-hitting.

I mean, this is obviously a guard thread, but with the screwing around we drummers do, there is a lot of head-hitting. Ha, like one of our idiots hit his head on the wall in concert. And somehow another managed to hit himself with his bass drum in battery practise. Then again, he was chasing his sister...

When I was in color guard, I tossed a single (Well, they called it a pop toss because the flag wasn't supposed to go too high) with my flag during a run-through of a certain section and the pole smacked me in the nose. That hurt. >.<

My friend Sam hit herself in the forehead with the flag really hard and left a huge bump. My band director called her Three Eyes for the rest of class. To cover it up, she turn her long hair into emo hair. It didn't work. But it got her a new nickname.
Samara (you know, like The Ring?) because that's what her hair looked like.

I gave myself a black eye that lasted for two weeks. It was windy and my helicopter toss spun out of control. sad

For our new show, Locomotion, we have chain flags that we are pulling out of a suitcase. And these flags are weighted with two C batteries in them. And (obviously) these flags have no pole, so we kinda just get to hold the bottom tab and swing them around. So I was trying to do the new work and I turned around and the batteries came back at me and hit me right in the face. 4laugh Ouch. Those are heavy batteries. xd

Ive hit my head..and other peoples head.
I was picking up papers that fell of a stand and the side of my head scratched me head and part on my ear. Then i bumped into the stand.
Once I was walking to get the stupid beginner pack out of a locker, and the person with the locker above me, (bariton) Sarah or Genines(sp?) pulled out the case and made me hit my forehead ._. And my percussion buddy, Abby, hit my head with her drumsticks. She also bumped into me with her bass and me and my bass almost fell ._.
Oh the memories xD

ive hit myself many times... with a saber i got a scar to prove it. and ive hit my self with a rifle and a flag. sweatdrop

I tripped and smashed my face into a snare, and I'v hit myself in the head while doing tosses many times...
a french horn in my class wasn't paying attention and when she was supposed to be playing in about a half a beat, whipped the horn up to her face so fast that she knocked out a tooth.

Snare, we were playing this routine for Ceremony of the Flags practice, it was hard, we had to play together, while doing 'Mark Time', I ended up having my stick being smacked in my face.
Flutes, we were directly beside the Bass Drum, when he was doing his twirl, and back-n-forth hits (where the right hand mallet hits the right side, then hits the left). The mallet missed, and hit me in the cheek gonk .
I've hit myself plenty of times with a Rifle, and Cutlass. Mostly from guard routines, I have a scar on my right arm to prove.
Guardsman for life.
Sea Cadet mind you all.
