She giggled. "You look like a big mud leopard!" She paced over to help him out, grabbing his scruff to try and drag him from the muddy hole he had landed in. Sadly she was not strong enough and had to give up.
"Boy, you're heavy!" She exclaimed, sitting down in the mud with a great 'plop'. "I've not seen yooo in my kingdom before." She continued, ever playing the game. "Are you new? You look about my age. Maybe you're a prince from a far-away kingdom? Well if you are, you're early, I don't need rescuing yet...unless it was for saving me from drowning - though I saved myself in that instance." She clipped her jaws shut, realising she had been ranting, and gave him a sheepish grin.

"Your kingdom?" Mezi cocked a brow at that remark. He came by this stream quite frequently, as it was just out of his mom's territory, and he wouldn't get yelled at for straying to far. His sister's hide out was down stream a bit, and one of his favorite flowerbeds was just beyond the brush. This red cub, however, he had never seen before. Her kingdom? He thought not. He looked at her for a moment, trying to figure out where she had gotten this royalty complex before. He knew enough about lions to know that they had some sort of king and queen, which he found completely ridiculous. Out here in the Jungle, there was no need for a leader. Every leopard for himself. For that reason, he was certain this girl was no queen.
"My mom's territory is a bit away from here... not really far-away." He spoke as if he hardly cared what he was saying, trying to keep a cool kid facade while he could. "I didn't rescue you 'cause I figured you could care for yourself. You look pretty capable." He winked, a bit overly dramatic at that. He was attempting to smooth over the fact that he hadn't 'rescued' a female when she needed it. That gene probablly came from his father, the god of pleasure, if from anywhere at all. "And apparently I was right."

Her big, round ears folded forwards, focusing upon him as he spoke. She had not noticed how he looked slightly different, though it would probably become more obvious later in life. He was still just a bundle of fur to her and a playmate at that, though he still had a lot to learn obviously if he wanted to play the game.
"No, no, no!" She giggled, reaching out to bat at him with a gentle paw. "Well....this is the area I protect. I have special powers you see." He bobbed her head as if she truly believed every word. "I'm the Queen of Hearts. So everyone I meet in this jungle I befriend. Hopefully." Her tail hovered momentarily and then moved to curl about her.
"Just as your my friend now. See?" Then she giggled and her whiskers twitched. "So King leopard, what is your title?"

His palytime deprived mind took a couple of seconds to grasp that there was still a game going on. He cocked a brow at first, but then realization hit, and his face relaxed. He almost laughed, how could he have not gotten that before? "Oh, I get it." He nodded enthusiastically. He really didn't mind having a full leopard, especially one his age, protecting an area that he frequented. That was actually pretty exciting to think about. "Okay, so everything is your friend, right? 'Cause you're the Queen of Hearts." He nodded his understanding, piecing together the game.
As to what he was the King of... that was more of an issue. King of Freaks came to mind, a bit bitterly at that. He pushed that one out of his mind as fast as he could, though. This little leopardess seemed to either not care or not notice his half-species, so he didn't want to get himself in a bad mood while they were playing. Maybe... flowers? His love for the little plants wasn't something he liked to talk about, but she seemed nice enough, and if it was only play... "King of Flowers." He nodded firmly with a grin.

"Yup, yup, yup-yup." She beamed, waving a paw at him as she tried to flick his whiskers. "Mother says I have the biiiiiggest heart of all!" She had no idea that it was probably due to her father, though she never knew him. He had been a flirty leopard of bright red fur, yet whilst his heart was directed towards flirting, Hera's was devoted to finding friends. In fact, this little leopard-half was probably her first friend she had made.
"King of Flowers!" She seemed happy with his choice. "I shoulda guessed! Yoo have the fur colour of pretty flowers." She nodded and her eyes shone. "Oh! Silly me! I'm also called Hera. Hera the Queen of Hearts...or technically Princess of Hearts since I'm still little." She rolled onto her back and continued to try and bat at his muzzle, almost lazily. "You live around here?"

Absently mindedly, the young male batted back as Hera spoke. He nodded in agreement. Her mother was certainly right; this girl was probably the friendliest leopard he had ever met. She even rivaled his sister when it came to being sweet. "Thanks." He looked at his coat for a moment, but had to disagree with her statement. He didn't really think his coat was anything special to talk about. Especially when he had his sister, who sported possibley the most stunning coat he had ever seen in his life. "I live a little away from here, yeah. But I spend most of time around here looking at the..." He paused and looked at Hera's face for a moment, trying to decide if he should go on with that sentence. "Looking at the flowers." He shrugged, trying to make it seem like as little of a deal as possible. "Oh! I'm Mezi." He hadn't realized that no names had been exchanged until she brought it up.

She nodded as if it were the most expected thing in the world. "Well a King must get out and see what he reigns." She agreed, her tail swishing behind her. "Just like a Queen."
Her eyes brightened. "But I'm glad you live close, that means we can play more often! I don't see many leopards around here...in fact..." She trailed off, trying to think of even catching a glimpse of one in the trees. She couldn't. "You're the first." She continued with a beam. "Except my family of course." As if remembering that they weren't here she started and looked around. "I wonder where they are...anyway...probably still stuck in the maze..."
Then she snapped up onto her paws and reared up on her hind legs, reaching towards him with her forepaws. "Gonna get'cha!" It was rather random but at this young age her attention span wasn't all that great.

ooc eeep sorry for another wait. :/ vacation with limited internet access.
"Maze?" The leopon looked at her, a clearly confused look on his face. He wasn't entirely certain was a maze was, much less what her family would be doing in one. All he could think was that it sounded kind of like his name, and that made him happy for some reason. The thought train was thrown out the window when Hera reared up for play. Snapping to cub mode, the purple boy yelped and pivoted on his left hind leg and the promptly bounded across the mud, spraying it behind him at the little red leopardess as he did so. It wasn't intentional, but if it slowed her down, it certainly helped him. He giggled as he went, headingfor the nearest tree. Once at it, he jmped hitting the bark with clawsat the ready, and clung to the trunk with all his might. He knew darn well there was no way he could climb it, but for now this would do.

She gave a squeal of joy as he joined into the game, past words already forgotten. She lived for the moment this girl, happy and content to just go with the flow of life. She dashed after him, her long, puffy tail flowing behind her.
Then the mud sprayed her and she gave a small 'eep', skididng slightly as she tried to scramble after.
She recovered just in time to see the leopard throwing himself at the tree. Her eyes widened as he made contact with it and she quickened her pace, leaping for it herself. She aimed for the branch just above the part of the trunk he was clinging to, but missed. Her claws hooked around the branch and it swayed under her weight. Then she was slipping and falling, landing neatly on her feet on the ground.
Above her the sky rumbled and she knew that sometime soon the jungle would hit them with another of it's famous downpours.
"I missed!" She squeaked. "Guess I can't jump that high." She paced around the tree trunk as she called up to him, red tail swaying.

Having not entirely mastered the art of climbing yet, the leopon clung desperately to the side of the tree as Hera made a leap for him, and thankfully missed. Unfortunately, he wasn't as strong as he thought he was. As the sky rumbled, his legs shook with the effort of clinging to the vertical bark. It was only moments later that his claws lost their grip, and he felt to the dirt below, beside his new found friend. "Oof." He landed on his back and winced. After a few seconds, though, the wind that had been knocked out of him was back in his lungs, and he rolled over to stand up.
"But I can't climb... so it's okay." There was a slightly sad tone in his voice as he said it. Someday, he'd be bigger and stronger and better, and he'd be able to climb just like a full leopard, just like Hera. When he could climb, he'd have to track her down and show her. As the thunder rolled overhead, Mezi looked up instinctively at the darkening sky. The flowers would soon get a drink.
