Nita shook her head. "Yeah, that was a pretty shitty trick they pulled on us." As for Lauren's reaction... she shouldn't have asked. It wasn't her business anymore. Someone else would have to deal with her... But dammit, Nita still cared.
"Well... I hope she's okay, whatever happened." Nita paused. "Do you think having Comet would cheer her up? I'd been thinking, and I know Comet misses her..."

Miller nodded in agreement, "They puts dust every wherez in mah duplex." He ruffled his feathers, "Worst cleainingz ever there." He let the topic of Lauren's reaction drop with out another word.
"She's okay I think... justz shakenz up a bit?" He tilted his head curiously, "Your dogz? I... don't know really?" He caught the ball again rolling in his hands, "Maybe? I guess you and comet could visit sometimez see what she says..." He snapped his beak shut, bad idea suggesting the two of them in the same room.

"Mine was all dusty, too," Nita told him. She refrained from mentioning that Gaius had been tattooed while they were all knocked out.
Nita almost laughed at Miller's reaction. "Yeah, I'd been thinking of leaving her a note... And now, here you are, so I figured I'd ask." She shrugged, once again feeling awkward.

Miller shook his head with a sigh, "The lengths theyz would go to do something likez that makes me sick."
Miller shrugged sheepishly at the note idea and asking him. "Either or workz?" he gave a few weary tweets before kicking at the ground and letting the thump of the ball take over in the silence.
"Well, you asked it first so nowz I will, howz you been?"

"Me? Oh, I'm fine. Keeping busy and all that." Nita kept her voice light but couldn't bring herself to look Miller in the eye. He really didn't need to know about her issues with Gaius. Or, more accurately, how she was decidedly without Gaius. Even if Miller and Lauren weren't particularly close now... She knew that little tidbit of information would most likely get passed along.

Miller tilted his head his feathers ruffling about, before dropping his own gaze it what would pass as respect for Nita and her issues. He didn't want to upset her again right after being forgiven and getting on good terms again. Well at least terms good enough to play an akward game of catch.

"No, it's okay," Nita assured him. She glanced over at the bag, still propped up against the wall. "Um, I should probably get that stuff refrigerated. And it'll be too hot for me to be outside pretty soon..."
Now that she'd mentioned it, the sun was awfully high in the sky. It was definitely time to get herself somewhere cooler.

Miller tossed the ball to join with the bag and his own stuff leaning on the wall. "I should probably get my own food as wells." He walked over to his stuff slipping the gloves down the stick, stuffing the ball in his pocket offering Nita her bag with a smile. "Stop by sometimes?"

Tucking the bag under one arm, Nita smiled sincerely at Miller. "Thanks. And... I guess I'll see you around some time."
Nita wound her way back through the village, still taking care, as usual, to avoid Gaius' duplex.

Miller waved goodbye as Nita walked away and spent a good long minute just standing there as Nita walked away, at least things were looking a little better.
He finally went inside getting his own food before trekking home with his stick and gloves in the other hand.
