Neve feigned a hurt look, holding a wing up to her face and let out what she thought was a pathetic sound. 'Oh but I am sorry..you're the one being meeean..' she elongated the last word, peering through her wing feathers to see if the little dunderhead was buying the act. Neve sighed, in an overly dramatic fashion and tucked her wing away. 'If you really want..' her words were now suddenly heavy sounding, as if what she was about to do was a great burden. 'I mean, I did try and warn you, but if you absolutely insist.' she turned on her heels and walked away a little. She didnt actually know where her mother was right now, she also knew that her mother preferred to being a b***h to other Soquili; rabbit was her preferred meat. Neve would lead him a merry dance somewhere and then flit away. She giggled to herself.

Ahote didn't buy the act at all. He scoffed at the mare, stomping his front left hoof.
"Don't pretend like that," he said irritatedly. "I've already told you, I'm not a child, so don't think I'll fall for a childish trick like that."
He was still surprised at how defensive he was becoming, and how these words came out of his mouth. He wasn't one to speak to anybody in this way, but this mare really pushed his buttons...more so than anybody else he had ever met.
At hearing her heavy words, he furrowed his brow, becoming more irritated.
"But you were the one who suggested I meet your mother! So why are you acting like its some big deal now? Make up your mind!"

'Oh it's no bother at all..' Neve said in an airy fashion, ignoring his words about not being a child. She'd certainly touched a nerve there! Deliciously amusing.. 'It's just I went and had a bath yesterday, and blood is really hard to get out of feathers..' she let the words hang behind her as she walked off, skirting the water's edge as she did so.

Ahote stood in his place for a moment as the mare walked ahead of him. What did she mean, blood is hard to get out of feathers? Why would there be blood?
He came back to his senses and trotted to catch up to the mare. Once he was alongside her, he looked up at her, almost trotting to keep up with her longer strides.
"What do you mean, about the blood? Why would you get blood on you?"
He turned his eyes forward, searching to see if there was a place nearby where he mother might live, but nothing stood out as a place to live.
