Ahote huffed a little, seeing that he wasn't going to have his question answered. He was indeed persistant, but he knew how to take the hint when somebody changed the subject.
"Well, I grew up here. My family all moved away, but I wanted to stay. I was on my own for a while, but then this two-legger named Nori took me in, and I live with him and a Soquili named Shikoba."
He thought about his nice little camp in the mountains with his two-legger, and the mean Shikoba. He liked it there, even if it was a long walk to get to the high spot.
"What about you? Why are you here?"

Rashkae smiled down at the Usida, "Ah, so you are on your own," She murmured softly, turning her head to look ahead of them for a moment.
"You family moved away?" She laughed softly, shaking her head, "Were they searching for something? Or merely tired of their lives here?" She paused, realizing she was being a bit nosey. "Oh! My apologies, Ahote, I did not mean to intrude." Shaking her head, she continued softly, onto his question.
"I was...rather disinterested in my former life," She admited finally, chuckling softly, "So I wanted to have a bit of softly o-in a new place." She grinned at him, "You understand, yes?"

Ahote nodded.
"I guess they just wanted something different. They never really told me. They said they were leaving one day, and they asked if I wanted to go, but I love it here, so I stayed."
He listened to Rashkae's story and was again intrigued by her vague answers. She may have apoligized for being nosy, but as Rashkae had already learned, Ahote never hesitated to ask a question.
"Well, what was your former life? What happened?"

Rashkae nodded simply, unsure of how to answer to that statement. People left for many different reasons, just the same as they remained in one place for many reasons. To predict why one would leave and would stay was rude, though it was quite a common practice.
"Eh?" Was this little Usida always so questioning? She couldn't say a single thing without him asking something about her answers. It was rather...well, cute, but only from Rashkae's perspective.
"I became bored and wanted to look around the world. It's that simple," She answered softly, chuckling.

Ahote did indeed ask quesitons this often. He was very inquisitive, and wanted to know as much as he could about others that he met. Some may find it rude, but if he wanted answers, there was only one way to get them. "Oh, so do you like it here more than you did the last place?" He wondered at her boredom with her former life. He had been here his entire life, but he had never been bored by it. He loved these lands, and always enjoyed them, and he was sure he would for the rest of his life.

Rashake shrugged indecisively, "To say that it is a better place would e insulting my homeland," She answered finally, smiling, "And I really did enjoy living it was just...." She chewed on her response a bit more before responding again, "...A bit too routine for me. I like to have sponenaity in my life."
She chuckled softly and pranced a few steps forward, tossing her head, "When life gets to boring, one must change to make it not so," She rumbled and looking down at the other, smiling, "Don't you think so?"
Her life had been much different from any other normal creature's, but she wasn't about to reveal such. She may be frivolous, but she wasn't stupid.

Ahote giggled and trotted to keep up with Rashkae as she pranced ahead.
"Yes, I agree very much! But I've never really been bored with my life. I've lived here forever, and I have fun every day!"
It was true. Ahote found enjoyment in almost everything, and could always find some fun for himself if it didn't immediately present itself to him.

Rashkae chuckled, "But when you live as long as I have, you can get bored quite easily doing anything." She shrugged helplessly and tossed her head, tossing the strands of hair in her face out of her eyes. Sometimes, long hair was a bit of a curse as well.
"Indeed?" She looked down at the little Usida, smiling, "And how do you have fun? Would you show me? I'm afraid I'm running out of ways to be entertained." She laughed softly and looked about for a moment. It was only partially true, but there really wasn't much else to do and this way, they could both have fun.

Ahote smiled. As long as she had lived? Well, she couldn't be all that old. She seemed fairly young to Ahote.
"Well, how old are you?"
When she asked him how he had fun, he thought about it a bit. He never really thought about how he had fun every day...he just...did it. And now he thought, thinking of what he could introduce to her to have fun.
"We could have a race! Ooh, or play hide-and-seek, I'm really good at that! Or chase some foxed or bunnies or something. They're really fast."
He smiled, lifting his feet in excitement of what they might do.

Rashkae laughed and would have waggled a finger at him if she had a finger to waggle, "Now, now, Ahote, one shouldn't ask a lady what their age is; that is horrible impolite." She sighed dramatically, and shook her head. She was only teasing him and she hoped he'd understand it.
"I'm quite old," She added, deciding to answer his question, "Very old, actually, but I believe my personality and general good physical health keep me rather young-looking." She grinned and winked down at him, "Don't you think?"
"A race?" Well, that sounded interesting, but it wouldn't be very fair. Rashkae was taller and obviously a bit more fast than her male counterpart. A pity, though. She laughed at the hide-and-seek thought. Well, then she would be at the disadvantage, glowing lines tended to give away things like that.
Chasing things though, that sounded interesting, though the thought of terrorizing foxes or rabbits was just a bit saddening, she wasn't going to complain though.
Laughing, she trotted a few steps more, "Ah, it is hard to choose what to play, isn't it?" She asked, shaking her head.

Ahote was surprised to hear that Rashkae was old. She definently didn't look it. He nodded in response to her quesiton.
"You do look young!"
He simled, and trotted along beside her. For his short stature, Ahote was actually fairly good at keeping up with the longer-legged Soquili. He had even beat one once, a fact that he was very proud of. When Rashkae seemed unable to pick from his suggestions, he wondered if she just wanted him to leave her alone. But she would have said so, right? So no worries there. Maybe she had some better ideas.
"Well, do you have anything you like to do for fun?"

Rashkae laughed merrily, his statement was so innocently flattering, she couldn't do anything else but that, "Thank you, Ahote, that's terribly kind of you to say." Whether or not it was true--she really didn't care at all.
"What do I do for fun?" She repeated, looking down at him for a moment, "Oh, nothing incredibly special." She smiled gently, "I like to meet people and chat with them, having good conversations are just as much fun as playing, even if they don't seem so." She giggled a bit, wondering if she was making a wink of sense.

Ahote didn't really understand how saying that Rashkae looked young was kind, but he just smiled and went along with it.
When she said that she liked meeting people, he smiled even more.
"Oh, it does sound like fun! I know what you mean. I love meeting new people. Its one of my favourite things!"
He smiled and trotted a little as they continued on their path. Rashkae was a very nice Soquili. Ahote was glad he had met her.

Rashkae laughed and smiled in delight, it felt like she had found a sort of kindred spirit in this land already, how good for them both!
Her expression turned a bit thoughtful once more. There was nothing wrong in them just chatting as they were doing at the moment; in fact, she quite liked it, but that didn't mean small-talk was all they could do.
So she cast her gaze about in search of something they could both do to pass the time.

Ahote trotted ahead a little bit. As he went along the path, a squirrel passed in front of them. The little pony stopped short, so as not to step on the little critter. As he stood there, the squirrel stopped and looked up at him. Ahote giggled, looking back down at the squirrel before it ran off into the trees.
Turning back to Rashkae, he smiled.
"So, do you know what you want to do yet? I know where there are a few streams and ponds around here. We could go find one and maybe swim, or just watch the fishes. They're fun to watch!"
