"Sorry? Sis, nothing doing. Miss Atae saw you & Endless said to fetch you." Hemi nuzzled at her cheek near the bend of her foreleg while she covered her eyes, his odd way of purring coming through. "C'mon. I think Miss Atae is the shy one Daddy's spoken of. S'possed to have been shy like you!" Brown tails wagged, blue eyes smiling to show that he would love his sister shy or however else she wanted to be.
"Potion books? Sure." Smiling she stretched, pausing to lightly nudge Edward's shoulder with the top of her head as a kind of 'thanks for being my sleeping buddy' gesture before hopping off the couch. Only once down did she stretch out her wings, feathers fluttering to their full span before being pulled back to cover the black stylized markings on her sides beneath them. She smiled at both Endless and Atae. "Allergies? I'm glad you're better now. Trel's been having eye allergies pretty bad lately, is the sneezing as frustrating?" Brushing her shoulder to Endless' Liliana lightly led the way to the potions shelves and pulled down two books. Magical Drafts & Potions & a larger book that looked like a collection of information. "We'd best start withthese, Endless. Magical Drafts & Potions is what Daddy says they used at Hogwarts for First Years. It's what I started with. What we all start with for Potions. This other one..." she indicated the huge tome. "I've found to be extremely helpful because it lists properties of plants, stones, minerals. parts of animals & magical creatures as well as listing many of the ways they react with other components. It's a bit overwhelming at first, but I find it emensely useful even now."

Nahanni peeked out from under her paws and perked her ears. "Atae?" She had heard of the shy female from a friend. She was the belted one? She blinked at Hemi's purring nuzzle, and giving an honest smile, embraced him in a hug. "Thanks brother." She had told herself and others time againt that she'd try, and now was her chance. She pulled back and peeked at her sibling with a whisper. "Do you know...why they're here?"

Atae sidled over to the sofa again after Lily and Endless started walking toward some bookshelves, giving her housemate a curious look as he walked after Lily. He'd almost looked as though he started to shiver when Lily bumped his shoulder but... either he'd stopped it or she imagined it.
"Hiii Ed! How have you been? Did you find out any more about the metal? I've been out of the loop..." She was definitely going to try and keep track of him better this time. Things had just been in a whirl for so long with Diina and the kits and then Seer... and now Kitsyn had brought home an egg given to her care by "her paintball buddy"... whatever that meant. It was time to catch up with friends. Though... Ed seemed to have noticed Endless was acting a bit strangely, too. She glanced after her companion and said in an undertone, "So it's not just me that thinks he's acting funny?"
Endless followed Liliana over to the shelf and glanced over the books she pulled off the shelf, doing his best not to stare at her the entire trip over and not doing a very good job. "So... a beginner's book and a big encyclopedia of potion ingredients, then?" He could probably handle that.
The way the lighting in the room glinted on her fur and the way her eyes sparkled, and that lovely smile that graced them with its presense... this was probably the best chance he was going to get and it slipped from his mouth before he really realized he was saying it. "I love you, Lily..."
He felt his face burn again, ever again thankful for his dark pelt. He watched her, waiting for her to say something in reply, even though he knew that the reply was probably 99% certain to be made in a blithe lack of awareness of his meaning. The other two were likely to hear what she said, whether or not they heard his soft-spoken confession. He wasn't entirely sure what to expect from them... or what he was going to do after this point... but at least he'd said it.

"Hey Atae" Edward greeted her in a cheerful fasion, a big grin on his maw as she asked about the metal. "Well... not much, really." His mind had been preoccupied with other things as of late. However, when she commented on Endless' odd behavior, his grin faded and again he looked towards them. Ears turned forward to try and catch what they were talking about. He had noticed that something was up, and he figured that the migration to the other side of the room was very intentional.
He heard words coming from Endless, and his eyes widened in surprise. He would have thought he misheard, but the look on Endless face more than confirmed that what he had heard, was not a mistake. His mouth fell open in surprise, although really... inwardly he's already had his suspicions. There was an odd look in Edward's eyes, but he said nothing. The claws of his flesh paw gripping in the couch tightly.

Grinning at the hug, Hemi shrugged at his sister non-commitally and grinned some more as he trotted quickly back to the magic door. "Can't really say, other than Endless said he had something to tell Lily." Oh his heart had its suspisions, but that did not mean it would happen, did it?
Checking to see that Nahanni was coming too he nudged open the door as the confession was made. He could not hear it, but something about the way the starry male stood...
Liliana was a little taken aback by the suddenness of her friend's soft words that had nothing to do with potions. She blinked a little, having to completely change gears in order for what Endless said to register and make any sense. Her father said he loved her. Loved all of them. So did Hemi. And Trelweny. It was comfort, warmth, safety, security, and good feelings. Things she felt when with Endless. A smile slowly spread across her face. "Thanks. Love you too."
In the doorway Hemi stood between incredubility and mirth. Wrong kind of love, Lily.

Nahanni blinked and her curiousity perked. She followed closely behind her slightly younger brother to the door, trying to keep quiet. Heh, not too hard. Brown eyes scanned the room and landed on her red sister. She was speaking with the dark male kitsu. But...what was said that made him look so tense? She peeked at Ed and Atae, hoping to get some hints from them. They both seemed to be observing the other two, with a knowing look. She nudged Hemi lightly in question.

Atae's eyes widened. She hadn't really... expected that... It explained everything, but she was still a little shocked. She almost asked Edward if he'd had any idea, but there was a look about him that made her ears go back. She wasn't really sure if she should actually say anything right now...
She thought she'd heard the door open again so she glanced back, seeking some out from the sudden tenseness. She spotted Hemi and the other one she'd seen earlier... Nahanni? She took a few tentative steps toward the sibling pair before sitting and mustering up some courage in spite of her curiously pained emotions she greeted them. "Welcome back, Hemi... is that Nahanni?"
Endless half-smiled at Lily, somehow managing to look pained and amused at the same time. He didn't know whether he should press the point now or wait until later. It was after all the first time he'd seen her in a while, and if Ginny was right about her needing time to herself to figure things out, it might be the last. He didn't want to make it too short... and yet... in a way it hurt to know she misunderstood his meaning.
"I'm not sure you understand Lily...", he whispered, looking down at the potions book. "But I'm afraid if I explain now, it will ruin our visit." He'd just try being honest. If he couldn't be honest with her, he couldn't be honest with anyone, and if that was the case then what he was feeling was pointless. And... if he was going to be honest... even in spite of the fact that he knew everyone was probably staring at him by this point, he'd just have to tell her, right?
He sighed, still looking fixedly at the potions book. "I wanted to do this in private, but it slipped out, so I guess I have to finish... I... I'm in love with you, Lily... He said it all in a voice only just audible enough for Lily to hear clearly, barely able to make himself look up with one eye to see how she reacted.

Edward wasn't too keen on sticking around. If Endless wanted his privacy... then fine. What did he care anyway? So the guy was confessing his love for Lilianna, big deal. Getting up, the alchemist hopped down from the couch, not caring to observe and public displays of affection or whatever else that might ensue as tones were hushed.
The fullmetal alchemist quietly moved across the library, as quietly as one with metal limbs could move that is, and went for the door to leave. Perhaps this would be a good time to make use of that room that Lilianna had made for him.

Hemi nuzzled his sister with a light purr, a look in his lightblue eyes saying that he would try to explain when & if he could later -if it did not become clear very, very soon. He smiled at Atae, stepping into the room to nudge the belted female's chin with the top of his head. "Uh-huh! Nahanni, this is Miss Atae. Daddy & Lily's friend." Bright eyes watched the alchemist curiously, as if wondering if there was more to Edward's actions than appeared to be the case. Their winged teen guest was very close to Liliana... Hemi pondered the notion, an ear quirking as Edward neared them at the door.
Liliana's smile faltered, her logical mind nearly undone as she leaned forward to hear her friend's quietly lowered voice. In love. In love. In love. The words echoed in her mind. This was uncharted territory. Even more, it was territory Liliana knew very little about and paid even less attention to. But ... in love... that was what Edward had said she had been with her father...
Green eyes widened and she sat down with a soft thud, white gold tails falling to the ground behind her & fanning out. Lily simply stared at Endless with an incredulous look. No, she did not understand. At the same time the honesty in her friend's voice moved her -she had no need of the truth-telling Veritaserum. When her voice found her again it was almost inaudible except for the opening squeak. "How... how do you know?"
Wondering what was going on but at that momement more worried for Edward and the girls Hemi hoped Liliana would not immediately run off for their father. Who knew for certain what their parents might be doing at that moment. Giving Edward a crooked smile as he approached the scarfed teen tried to fathom the other. "You guys wanna hang somewhere?" ie, not the library. Blue eyes sparkled invitingly, carefully not glancing to the two by the potions books.

Nahanni blushed as Atae adressed her and nodded. Ears swerved around, no tknowing what to take in and focus on. She blinked as Hemi nuzzled her, effectively calming her. Especially since they were the smallest two of the party. Brown eyes turned to the coated kitsu approaching, before darting back to see Lily flop back in...shock? She gasped and pressed her front paws on Hemi. "Is she okay?!" Shy didn't she understand what was going on? All the others seemed to know, but with such different reactions. She didn't know what to feel, and so tension filled her.

Atae's ears were still flicked back somewhat, but she scrounged up her courage out of concern for her friend. She was just about to follow when Hemi suggested that the four of them go somewhere else. That sounded like a good idea...
Nahanni's concern for her older sister made Atae's mouth quirk at the corners. "Lily's not hurt... I think she's a little stunned?" Atae tilted her head, looking back at Endless with her own startled look. More than I am!
"Maybe we can go somewhere else... not too crowded?" She smiled at Hemi sheepishly and saw that Ed was almost to the door and padded after him. "Ed! ...Wait up?..." She'd leave him be if he really didn't want to talk anymore but... she was floundering now. A friendly visit had suddenly turned serious and the only people who still seemed keen on having her around weren't the people she'd come to spend time with. ...She was feeling a bit on the hurt and confused side herself.
On the other side of the room Endless was having to scrounge up his courage as well, but for other reasons. He looked up at Lily with his luminous eyes and smiled softly. How did he know it was love? "I... feel miserable when you're not around, and worry about you. I think about you all the time. I see a flower or a sunset or a book and I wonder "Would Lily like this, too?" No matter how bad I feel I feel better when you're around, just because you're there. The happiest I can ever remember being is when you smile at me. You're the most important thing in the world to me, and I'd do anything for you." He looked down at the floor again, but everything about his posture had gone from tense nervousness to a boyish, giddy sort of bashfullness, though it was tempered somewhat by his insecurity about the situation. "I just... when I figured out what I was feeling, I had to tell you. I just don't feel like I'd deserve your friendship if I can't be honest with you... even if this makes things akward for a while..."
He looked up at her, a half-smile on his face that was trying to tug up the other side too. "I can understand if you need to go... think... or something... I dropped a pretty big bomb there..." He pawed the potion book a litte closer. "I'll just take a look at these. If you feel up to it maybe you can tell me about some of them?" He didn't really want her to leave yet, but if she needed to... well, he'd done his best to leave both options open. He sighed softly. "I'm sorry I'm not very good at these situations, Lily. I'd give you a better explanation or... something, if I knew how..."

Slowing down as he reached the door where the little group stood... Edward stopped and turned when he heard Atae calling out to him. Although his gaze also fell back on Endless and Liliana again. Ears went back for a moment, before one of his characteristic grins spread across his face, as if nothing was wrong. "I'm gonna go out for awhile.. take a walk..." he said... moving past the others... pausing only at seemingly an afterthought, "... by myself." The last part said in a more serious tone. Edward then went through the door and shut it behind himself, leaving the room completely without another glance behind him. He had some... thinking to do.

Nahanni's baby brother nodded, for Atae had very well described what was wrong with their winged older sister. That seemed evident enough when he dared to glance at the two, seeing gold-tipped red ears flick lightly in a fallen position indicationg Liliana's 'deep in thought and absorbing her lessons' mode. Stunned to silence.
Hemi watched the smaller winged male leave, not quite sure he thought that was the best thing for Edward to do and not giding his opinion from touching his face either. For a brief moment his thoughts veered, realizing that he had at some point grown taller than their guest, though the alchemist had been a teen when he was born already. Hemi thought of things he had gleened from Liliana's speaking of him and wondered if perhaps the automail & why he bore it had some connection to Edward's slow growth. Light blue eyes were filled with sympathy sensing that the alchemist like Hemi's oldest sister must be very cut off from his own heart. But unlike Liliana, Hemi suspected it was intentional in Edward instead of inadvertant.
Her best friend leaving seemed to break Liliana's silence. Green eyes muted with too much to consider reached for the comfortable shine of Endless' eyes as if grasping for straws. "I... don't want things awkward. I will need to think on this, but..." Her crimson-furred face scrunched, deep into uncustomed thoughts and possibilities and reasons. "You and Atae came to visit... I want to visit." There was a twitch in her body, begging her to run away, to fly heedless into the snow -as she had the night she and Endless had met. Somehow she managed to stay put though every fibre of her being all but begged her to flee. What did not struggled to seek the solace of her friends or family -Ed just gone, Remus with her Mother, Endless & Hemi here...
Logical mind tried to compromise slightly with feelings barely noticed much less understood. She could not understand -did not yet want to fully understand- the full weight of all Endless had lain bare to her. "I'll need time to digest..." Why did her voice sound so far away? "but after you go home?"
There was an almost plaintive whine to those words as she said them; not quite asking for more time, not quite asking to have a last visit without thinking too much about it, not quite begging him as much as herself not to run away and yet all at once. Green eyes flicked to the others and caught the baby blues of her baby brother glancing back at her in concern. The teen seemed so wise right at that moment and she, the big sister, felt like a young kit. As she always seemed to do when feelings were brought to much to the center of her life.
"Hemi?" She questioned, not sure what to ask. The light chocolate teen nodded but remained at the door waiting for Endless' okay. He murmured softly to the two girls near him. "If Endless is up for it I think Lily could use a kitsu-reading-pile. Need for snuggles in this room is too high for much other playfulness, don't you think? And then it shouldn't be too much for you, right Nah'ni?"

Nahanni blinked as the coated kitsu left the room, clearly with something bothering him. Brown eyes glanced up at poor Atae, having been left awkardly behind. The young femme ducked her ears, giving a half-hearted nod to Hemi's suggestion. Perhaps it would have been better off if she stayed on the roof. All these different emotions and hidden answers to her questions didn't comfort her at all. She just remained quite and put the pieces together herself in her mind.

"I don't think I've ever been in a snuggle-pile..." Atae mentioned in a rather off-hand manner, watching Ed leave. She knew there was something more there than he was willing to admit, but she couldn't bring herself to go after him and try to find out what the problem was. For a moment she envied the alchemist's outgoing nature.
Then she realized what she'd said and what Hemi had. Honestly, she'd never done much snuggling at all. She'd snuggled with Soot when she was little, and Endless some, but he wasn't much of a snuggler and Soot had gone back to sleeping in Soot's own room when she'd gotten older.
She suddenly felt even more akward, and also just as suddenly needed that snuggle, but she just didn't feel comfortable seeking comfort from anyone in the room right now. "Uh, what types of books do you read, Nahanni?" Perhaps she could find relief in the simple fact of busying her mind until her heart settled down a bit.
Endless had actually just turned and noticed that Edward had left the room. He'd been too focused on Lily to notice the other goings-on, but the look on Atae's face told him what he needed to know and gave him a few suspicions that worried him slightly. But Lily was right - they'd come to visit, and he didn't think anyone really wanted to give up on that so soon. ...Excepting Edward.
"So, which potion do you think would be good to start on?" he said, turning back to Lily. He gave her a little half-grin that said he understood. He knew she'd need some time to re-adjust to his confession, but if he hadn't inadvertently started it so soon he would have made sure they'd taken time to visit first to avoid ruining it. Fortunately things seemed to have worked out all right, for the moment if nothing else.
He also pawed through a few pages of the ingredient encyclopedia, raising an eyebrow. "Ah... I'd probably need help finding some of these... when I get there..." He pointed at a couple of the more magically inclined plant ingredients, face drawn into a slightly puckered look as he tried not to laugh. He wasn't entirely sure why he was inclined to laugh at the moment either, other than how relieved he was that Lily was taking this so well. He'd been... very worried after his talk with Ginny and his own experience with Lily's lack of experience with dealing with emotions.
