I just love music, and i had a friend that had a few guitars... and when she let me play one.... i started begging my mom for a guitar until she bought me one. Then i got a little... obsessed with playing it. A lot of people in my family play guitar, too... so i guess it kind of runs in the family...?i love learning instruments and i thought that electric guitar might be a little different than a clarinet or harmonica. xd

Me? I started playing because my entire family on my fathers side plays, and they never bothered to get me started when I was young. So I started to teach myself a few years ago.
Now, my father has problems in his hands and can no longer play. He's been playing since he was thirteen and is now nearing fifty crying So I feel that I owe it to him to do so and carry on the family tradition. I swear, my kids will play something whether they like it or not.
But the idea first hit me after watching the movie crossroads when I was real young. That was awesome.

I started to play because my pastor was giving free lessons and we were having a band at church. Friends were also starting to play and I wanted to see what it was like. Then, I really got into it and never stopped!

I started playing cause I wanted to play simple songs like Offspring etc.
I kinda gave up for about a year then I heard about Dimebag Darrell (RIP) and other great players like Steve Vai. I started playing seriously then and have been playing seriously for about 2 years and am one of the best in my school now =]

I started because my dad played and there were always guitars lying around. So I picked one up, he got me started and I from there I'm self taught. Besides the fact it's just fun, I still play 'cause it's relaxing and because I play in a band now, which is a lot of fun as well. heart

About 2 years ago I bought a ramones CD and I really liked the way that Johnny played guitar. My sister had recently gotten an electric because she had expressed interest in learning (never happened) so she agreed to let me borrow it for a while. My only intension was to learn a few ramones songs and then give it back but that didnt happen either. It eventually became the only thing that I felt like doing anymore. Guitar was just the only thing fun. Then I got the bright idea to start a band and now guitar is more or less the only thing I do anymore (I get very uncomfortable and moody if I can't play for more than a couple days). If I hear something I like i get the urge to know how to do that so i'm constantly trying to figure out how to play new stuff (being as I don't take lessons and dont want to).
