ti kinda depends on the person who's watching it if it's scary or not. when i was watching it it made me jump, but not scared. but i do have to say that i won't be swimming in the deep ocean anytime soon!

Dont laugh at horror movies. I think its incredibly dumb when people do that. Anyways, I thought Jaws was kind of scary. It wasnt the scariest of all time, but it is kind of scary. Scarier than Psycho.

Narquelie You have to take into consideration when it was released. When it was released this movie was frightening to a lot of people. 30 years ago special effects weren't what they are now. Today people see violence on TV all the time so everyone becomes desensitized one way or another. I wasn't scared either but I still enjoy it every time I see it. I had a friend that had her tv brought out near her pool for a Jaws party and she had friends over and they all watched it from the pool while sitting in innertubes. That made it extra scary for them, and everyone that watched it didn't want to go back into the pool afterwards. But back to the movie, if you thought it was tame fine but to many (including me) it's a classic that will be cherished for a long time. I couldnt find a Silence of the Lambs banner. Where did you get it? sad It puts the lotion in the basket

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I have never seen this movie. redface I did read the book, though. That's something, at least.
I was actually shocked to see that Jaws was number one on that countdown Bravo did of the scariest movie moments (or something). I didn't really agree with it.

First time I saw it I was scared out of my wits. I could barely keep my eyes open when Jaws was eating the sailors in the final scenes...then again I was 4 and stupid. Now I love the movie, and taking into account when it was made, think it's amazing for what it had.
I think the thing with Jaws is it wasn't really meant to be a 'scary' horror movie, but more a suspense/thriller movie like the M. Night Shyamalan movies.

I have a pretty serious phobia of water, so that movie scared the hell out of me. But it wouldn't normally be scary to horror movie fans, now. Although my mom always tells me how scary those movies were by her generation's standards.

That movie was more of a cautionary tale. Unless he sprouts legs and stalks people on the coast, leaving biss a** bite marks in the bodies, this is just up there wil giant snakes, long alligators, and mutated mosquitoes.

I love the Jaws series. Call me weird, but I don't live by the ocean at all and I'm terrified to swim becuase I think sharks will be in the water, even in a lake! Haha 4laugh

Jaws was Great, Jaws 2 was ok, and I do not want to talk about the other movies, they were bad.

I actually enjoyed Jaws. Of course, growing up at a beach, the movie hit a little too close to home. If you know what I mean. Anyways, loved the sequel and Jaws: the Revenge, but only because Michael Caine was in it and I LOVE Michael Caine. Own the 25th Anniversary edition of the movie. Didn't really scare me, but I admit to jumping a few times, especially in the last 45 minutes. Farewell and adieu to you Spanish ladies, farewell and adieu to you ladies of Spain!!

Jaws didn't scare me, but it's still a great movie. I think they did a great job considering what they had to work with back then.
BTW, did you catch the Jaws remake on Robot Chicken? That was great! rofl
