ashtraygrrrl
I would like too add a few movies I believe have to do with some of these issues.
The Wedding Banquet
The Birdcage
To Wong Foo, thanks for everything Julie Numar
Party Monster
Hedwig and the Angry Inch.... there are more I just cant think of off the top of my head

As far as books go I haven't read that many abou those sort of Issues. I would like to say that Sarah, and The Heart is Decietful Above all Things, are great books addressing some big issues. Sarah is more about the transgender stuff then The Heart is Decietful, but they are both wonderful books. They are both by JT Leroy

-nods- i shall add them

I gave the list a look over and I thought you should add these movies that weren't located anywhere on it because they pertain to LGBTs.

Movies
Kissing Jessica Stein
Monster
Lost & Delirious
Nowhere
Songcatcher
Priscilla Queen Of The Desert
Rocky Horror Picture Show (I know, I know, but it's a classic!)

Empress of the World is one of the greatest books I've ever read. Every one of you that has not read it yet needs to. Now.

I've also read the Rainbow Boys books, Keeping You a Secret, Annie on my Mind, and I've seen But I'm a Cheerleader.

Hours and hours of entertainment that I recommend to people of all sexualities.

For those who like comedy,I sugest seeing Mambo Italiano if you haven't already. It's about an Italian gay guy trying to find acceptance and love in his homophobic little Italian community wich is situated in Quebec.
Comming from a Maltese background,I must say it kept bringing back old memories. The Italians, and the Maltese are very similar in their ways, just don't mistake one for the other. eek whee sweatdrop stressed gonk blaugh xd

Example:

Jake: Hey,are you Italian?I love the Italian, they are so cool.Mmmm...Italian food...

Ted: No,I am not a stinkin' Italian stare *Throws a shark at Jake* The Italians are copycats,we made everything first!

Jake: Oh,okay...*Dies since he's been attacked by a shark*

This, though it may be true, was not meant to offened anyone. If it did,I'm sorry.
