The pale stallion bobbed his head and gave a slight grin. A gentleman hu? Well that was a new one on him. Kind, handsome, funny and a gentleman. Him. Wow. Today was going well.
"Erm... thanks Eira," the blue-eyed stallion said after a moment to collect his thoughts. "And you're right; I don't have a mate right now. I used to but... well that was quite a long time ago now. I suppose I'm looking again, one of the reasons for leaving my territory; finding someone to share my life with again." Thinking about it, if there was some kind of afterlife and the darkly coloured Reya mare could see him, he was in an awful lot of trouble when he died. Staying alone for as long as he had would definitely warrant a good kicking in the rump by his former mate.

She was curious as to why he no longer had a mate. Had be broken a poor mare's heart? Had a mare broken his heart? had somthing horrible happened? A thousands sinarios ran through hr head but she did not ask. Not now...Perhaps when they knew eachother better. When they were better friends.
"Thats good." she said lightly, smiling. "after all being completly alone...well now that can be just boring, and it can be best if your alone, and your not a bitter old git, then you should have somone who can, understand you. and care about you and miss you when your gone and love you when you return..." She blinked. Dark had missed her...and loved her...The thought made her a bit sad but she shook it away. She had left him, she didnt love him. He seemed...ignorent...or blinded, neive, after her travels.
"I supoose i to am looking." she said after a moment. "just not openly. I want to be surprised with who i find, who i fall in love with. Tho, i'm sure on one thing. I don't want to be with another Ichsa...least i bring up a memory or two that causes me to be sad. If your sad then everyone around you will be too. Its like a sickness. The sad sickness." she laughed at the sound of it, and smiled.

Morthan couldn't help but chuckle at that; more odd turns of phrase, he liked this one. "Yes, certainly something I'd like to avoid catching," he agreed with a bob of his head. Perhaps she had a point about that thinking on it. Would being with one of his own kind be the same?... Yet taking a different breed to mate would mean crossbreed children and he knew what hell they got from a lot of folk.
"I certainly hope to find someone who can understand me," the white Reya went on with a distracted twitch of his tails as he pondered what it was he really was looking for. "Someone who can make me laugh, too. Someone who I can have fun with you know?" A relationship where everything was too serious, the albino felt, would just wear him out. Deep an meaningful needed to be interspersed by silly frivolous fun so far as he was concerned.

She nodded. "Yes, somone who is your best friend, somone you can laugh with...Somone who is stuck up and serious would just be too...tiring. Not being able to joke with them. Somthing i definatly don't want is a stuck up little stallion, or somone who thinks little of me because i am a mare or because i am a Ichsa. I've had to listen to one to many smart remarks about the common Ichsa's lack of intelligence. Just cause we arn't the wiz kids of the nequus kinds doesnt mean we are retarded fools." SHe was surprised at the ammount of anger and annoyence in her voice as she spoke. SHe didn't realize how much it annoyed her of her breed's reputation.

Morthan snorted and laid his ears back flat for a moment with a nod of agreement. "I hate it when people decide who you are because of what you look like,” he said with a stamp of one hoof. “The number of buggers that used to pick on me for sticking out when I was a colt I can't count." Arseholes all of them had been. Well, at least it had taught him not to make the same mistake himself.
"People are people," the pale stallion stated. "Different colours, different breeds; what the hells does it matter in the end? It’s the hear that counts..." Humm, he'd just gone off on a bit of a speech there, hadn't he. The albino's ears perked fully forward once more and he gave a lopsided grin. "Sorry, I'll get down off my podium now. I have a bit of a thing with people who do that, as you might have guessed from the rant." But from the sound of it Eira felt the same way and wouldn't mind him having a bit of a growl over it.

Eira shook her head. "No no, its alright." she said. "I understand. I'm glad i'm not the only one who thinks its stupid. Childish too. When i had...well been exploring, for lack of a better term, i heard alot of remarks. "Oh look at that, it and Ichsa! Beautiful things, to bad theres nothing upstairs." or "look at that, dumb as a rock yet as pretty as an angel." I was to insaulted to be flattered." she snorted.
"I think you are the second stallion i have met that is neither a Ichsa or speaks badly of my kind...and i appricate it. I mean i am not the geunis of the centry, but i understand, and i'm not deaf." she smiled a bit. "So..." she bowed her head a little. "thank you."

Morthan smiled and whiffled his nose amiably at his companion. "No need to thank me Eira; you seem bright enough to me so far in any case. I think the only reason people do it is because they're too damn lazy to find out what other people are really like, you know? It's a lot easier to make a snap judgement on appearance than to actually get to know a Nequus."
She was beautiful, too. He'd always been fond of the Ichsa slenderness and of the breed’s flowing wings. "I suppose people do it more to our kind because we’re rarer," the albino said thoughtfully. "I mean, most people are likely to have met enough Jala, Bae or Aeri to know that not all of them fir the stereotypes but with Ichsa, Reya and crosses they might only see a few in their lives. A lot easier to make judgements about things you actually know nothing about. I suppose that goes to show that the more you know, the less you know if you follow me." Hopefully she did and he wasn't just talking crap.

She nodded. "Even i haven't met more then one other Ichsa and only seen a few Reya to know one by looks. Your the first one i have ever spoken with. And of course i would never have put any steryotype on you. In fact, i thought you looked rather kind when i first saw you." she smiled at him. "and i was right."
She was really enjoying Morthan's company and, in fact, was surprised. He himself was alone, no mate, having, one way or another, lost his mate. SHe herself was alone, having left her mate. THey both had to deal with teaseing, and mocking. They both felt it unfair...Both of a rarer breed.

Morthan smiled and flicked his tails. "Kind? Really? Thank you. I thought you looked... err... Well I thought you looked gorgeous mostly to be honest. Lonely too though." Depressive thoughts to be cut off right there; no way he was going there again when things were going so well. "But now that we're part of our exclusive little club," he went on with another smile, "neither of us have to be lonely."
For how long?
Well, a while at least. It was probably one of those live for the moment things where you didn't worry about the future. "Listen," the blue-eyed stallion said after a pause. "Would you like some company looking for a place to call home? Like I say I've been travelling lately and I've seen some nice spots that aren't already claimed... I could show you a few if you like." At least that would put of the lonely thing for a while longer. Maybe she'd even like a place close to his own so that they could talk whenever they fancied.

She blushed a bit at his compliment. Then Eira smiled at the offer. "yes, company sounds...wonderful." she said. "Perhaps i could see where you live? that is..." she paused for a moment. "I mean we could talk some more. It wouldn't be well if the the only members of this little club coudl never talk..." she said lightly, findering herself tripping over her words a bit. No, that wasnt the whole reason...
"ANd i'd like to be able to talk with you more...but i'd also like to see you more..." she said softly. "and if we were near each other then, perhaps we could see each other again. And you could show me around..." she trailed off.

The pale-eyed Reya gave a wide grin as his companion finished speaking. "You know," he said, grin still in place, "I was really hoping you'd say something like that. I'd be happy to show you my home turf; stunning views and far enough away from the mountains to not be an absolute ice box. I like you Eira and it would be a damn shame if we couldn't spend more time talking together." Getting to know the appaloosa better was a highly appealing prospect. They were getting on so well already and the albino saw no reason why they shouldn't continue to do so.
"Save for the Reya lad's patch, the land around mine is unoccupied," Morthan went on thoughtfully, "so there'd be plenty of choice for you to pick out a patch of your own if find you like the area." And if she didn't... well, hopefully she would. He didn't want to have to give up this budding friendship that there might be more to given time.
"So," the pale-bodied Nequus smiled at his companion, "when would you like to leave?"

She smiled. "Well if the veiws are as stunning as you say, and i do doubt that you would lie, then i think i will easily find an area to stay myself." she smiled, laughing light at his grin. He was serious at times, as when they talked about the teasing, yet at the moment he seemed like a big goof. Not boring at all. And she liked that...
"THere must be a catch." she said, half joking, "you so kind, Morthan, so sweet and handsom, and single to boot. There must be a catch. You don't have an evil twin do you?" she gave an almost giggle like laugh, smiling softly. It was half a joke but also half a question. WHy was such a stunning, kind stallion still alone? Did he just choose to? or was there somthing else? She fetl a bit rude, but she was curious.
"and whenever you want to. I have no preference." she anwsered his question.

The pale stallion gave a whinny of amusement and shook his head. "No; no evil twin and thank you for thinking I must have to make up for all my wonderful qualities. I've got two tree-siblings but neither of them looked a thing like me and I haven't seen them since I was a colt in any case so I doubt they’ll be in the equation. Oh and I promise you'll be impressed by the views; Casa Tiner is a wonderful thing to behold... from a distance." The albino gave Eira a lopsided grin. "Not sure I'd want to get too close to it though; not a friendly place by all accounts."
When to leave? The pale-eyed stallion peered out from under the trees cautiously. A few clouds seemed to have moved in now; enough so that the sun didn’t half blind his delicate eyes. This was probably the best weather that there was going to be on a day like today.
"How about we go now?" the Reya stallion suggested. "While there's a bit of cloud cover to stop me burning to a crisp," he added with a chuckle.

Eira flushed slightly. "I didn't mean to sound rude." she said lightly, embaressed. "I just ment...its not often one comes across a stallion who is nice, and kind, with a sense of humor and is handsome. And if so usually they are already taken..." Her voice had grown hushed as she began to feel bad, not wanting to have insulted the stallion.
However when he suggested they leave now she was glad to find he would still take her to see. She nodded. "thats fine."

Morthan smiled gently and shook his head at the abashed Ichsa. "No offence taken, I assure you. I was just amused at the idea of an evil twin, you know? I've got this lovely picture of a pure black stallion with orange eyes rampaging about in my head."
With once more glance at the sky, just in case it was going to change its mind on him, the albino stepped out from under the tree and set off at an easy walk. The sun felt warm on his back but, with luck, it wouldn't be hot enough to burn him very much.
"The compliments surprised me a bit though," the Reya said after a moment's consideration. "I'm not used to them to be honest... Though I suppose I could go out on a limb and assume that's because I don't see other people all that often rather than because other people don't like me, eh?" The pale-eyed stallion shot his companion a grin, letting her know that his words weren't intended to be taken too seriously. After all; how much did he care if some idiots didn’t like him? It was the ones that did who mattered.
