Her head tilted, as she tried to comprehend his words. Running... not much different from hiding? She had never thought about it in that way before; it was mind-boggling.
Kindle's focus snapped back into the present when she heard Wylie's challenge. "You don't know nothin' about outrunnin' a storm, ya silly green stallion." sShe grinned back, pawing the ground with one hoof excitedly. She was tempted to try, to see if her own speed had improved since she was a foal. Having a father who was a fast stallion, Kindle unfortunately didn't receive his genes, and was frustrated from the beginning that she couldn't keep up with her sisters and father. She, like her mother, was a naturally slow paced mare, but she had worked and worked to try to fix that problem. Could she do it? Could she outrun Wylie? She'd sure as hell try.
"I feel up to it, that is... if ya can keep up."
She gave him a teasing smirk and looked towards the horizon. "Where's the finish point, for this race of our's?"

"Would I have issued any sort o' challenge if I didn't think I could keep up?" He laughed, tossing his head back before he reared up, forelegs and flame colored hooves battling the sky itself. He was just showing off now... But wasn't that what boys did best? Tease, torment, get into trouble of some sort and show off?
"I know all sorts o' things 'bout outrunnin' a storm. Learned it from my Da who just so happens to be the fastest stallion this side o' th'mountains." Boasting! That's what he'd forgot. Boys were also good at boasting. His mother had laughed when she told him that... But it was true. Of course, that just made things interesting.
"Finish point... Hmm... Well, since I'm bettin' a mare like you's too delicate to get her hooves wet in a little bit o' rain I guess we should race t'somewhere that y'won't get wet." He nickered softly. "So that leaves th'mountains... Or somewhere in the woods where the trees are so thick that the rain can't reach ya."

She grinned as she watched him rear back. This stallion was definitely the most amusing stallion she'd been fortunate to come across, and she wasn't about to miss the chance at a fun challenge like this.
"My delicate hooves could make it to the mountain summit, if that isn't too far for you to run to, of course." she teased, pawing at the ground in anticipation. Now was the chance she'd have to show off what she'd been practicing at. She may not be the fastest, but she sure as heck had alot of stamina to back her up, and could keep up whatever pace she went at for a good distance. Kindle was tempted to boast right back at Wylie on how her Dad was the fastest stallion she'd ever met, but decided to keep it a secret, should she be unable to keep up in the end. Less boasting meant less teasing if she lost, though she was prepared and had the urge to show this green stallion up. He'd never knew what was comin' at him!
Her flames began to sizzle and spark with excitement, and her ears flattened as she prepared herself in the starting position. "Well... you wanna count it down, Wylie?"

"Ain't too far for me t'run. I could run there and back before you even realized I was missin'." He laughed. This mare had alot of spirit. While she might be just as crazy as all of the others that he'd met so far (momma not included) she was a good kind of crazy.
"If you're not gonna I guess that leaves me no choice." He nickered as he pawed at the ground. "On yer mark... Get set... Go!" He bolted, taking off across the plains towards the mountains. They were off!

Still grinning, the half Nightmare pushed off the ground with her hooves, the wind catching and dancing with her long strands of hair as she bolted after him, determined to keep up. She wasn't about to let some silly stallion beat her... no, she was her father's daughter and she'd outrun him!
Kindle laughed as the wind pushed against her, ignoring the looming clouds overheard. If it rained, that'd just be more motivation to go faster. At this point, she didn't care if she got wet or not. Granted, if her hooves managed to get wet, she'd probably make a fuss, but she wasn't about to go girly and whine about it in front of this boy. No, she was tough, and she was gonna prove it!

He laughed along with her as they raced side by side, ignoring the low rumble of thunder in the distance. There would certainly be a storm tonight; the sort that his father told stories about racing. He had every intention of racing one of his own one of these days even if today wasn't the day. Wouldn't want to get the little lady's hooves damp.

She snorted, seeing they were approaching the mountain closer and closer with each step. He was fast, very fast. She could feel her muscles growing more tired as they ached, forcing themselves forward and keeping up in pace. Kindle noticed how his attention drew itself towards the thunder, and she used the brief opportunity to jerk herself to the side, hoping to playfully push against him. It wouldn't give her that much of an advantage, if she managed to bump him, but even a little advantage was better than no advantage, right?
Laughing, she attempted to hide her heaving breathing as she flung herself sideways, aiming at the bright green target.

The nudge from the mare caught him offguard and he nearly stumbled. "Cheater!" He laughed as he regained his footing, racing up beside the mare once more. He leaned close to her, attempting to lightly n** at her shoulder. If she was going to play dirty than he was going to as well... He wasn't about to let a girl get away with something like that.
