The people on the Extended Discussion boards are not anti-christian; rather, they are anti-hypocrite. Most of them are only exposed to hate brought about by hypocrisy in the Christian religion. They do not hate the religion; rather, they are disgusted by the followers. Saying you are persecuted when they do to you what many Christians do to them is really just stupid.

Why is it non-Christians only see hypocrites and only judge Christianity by this impression? There are plenty of non-hypocritical Christians out of there. And non-Christians aren't the only ones who are disgusted by hypocrites. I am, and I'm sure most other Christians are too.

Hypocrites are generally the loudest, most "out-there" Christians. They're the ones that appear on right-wing talk shows, lead gigantic "BattleCry"-type conventions, stand on corners preaching that everyone is going to hell, draw creepy, vaguely gory cartoons depicting "sins",...

Genuine Christians usually don't do that kind of thing. They act out of love, trying not to hurt anyone or cause distress. They do not force their beliefs on others; rather, they hold their morals and let other people ask about them. They do not cry about Hell; rather, they talk softly about Heaven.

This is obviously going to attract less media attention. Thus, the Christians most people see tend to be the first kind, and these people are what non-christians form their opinions based on.

But after all these years, wouldn't someone have figured out that the first Christians you mentioned were hypocrites? Some non-Christian must have. And if that were figured out and hypocrites were known to falsly depict Christianity, why base the opinions off of them?

Just as the smart Christians typically are kept out of the spotlight, so are the smart non-Christians. As a result, the people who base Christianity off what they see are the loudest. We're not that different from non-Christians.

That's just stupid. Somebody needs to replace the backstage crewman handling the spotlight and shine it on the right people.

Ya, I know, but there has to be some way of showing the world how true Christians act without becoming hypocrites ourselves, or causing problems. Jesus could return at any second, and I would like to see as many souls as possible in heaven, wouldn't you?

In the end this is what it comes down to. We live in a world where there is evil and sin, and where Satan is going to try to get a foothold wherever he can. It's not the forums or the people posting these hurtful things that are the problem so much as there is a much larger issue here.

People will attack the Bible, God, Jesus, and your faith. That's a tactic of Satan. It happens everywhere, and it happens because of sin and evil and the devil's lies. crying

Plus, people will use whatever ammunition they can to justify their point of view. They will neglect to mention the things which are contrary to their views. confused

Sadly we live in a world that believes what is right for you may not be right for me. There is no true standard for what is right and wrong. Then you mix in the belief that if it feels good then it is okay belief and you have a mess. So many people do not agree with Christians or even hate Christian because we don't "tolerate" enough. They disagree because we take a stand and believe in something and they are lost and don't know what or who to believe.
well why should they believe us, i mean they don't know GOD exists so why?!

Um, no. You don't decide to hate a religion over some verses in it.

and you can imagine the people that do, you see, this Martyr-syndrome that I see many people having toward the christian religion, is that in no world, could anybody do anything wrong to us, for it is justified by saying they are against hypocrites. There are those people, but anytime I face those that hate me for my beliefs, they never have anything based on ME. It's always what the bible says and so on. SO yes, some do hate for a few biblical verses, and some just the hypocrites. But how can you tell when you've never met them, you've never seen them before, what's going in their heads? this goes back to other forum post you commented on about the teacher.

Generally, people classify a religion based on the people who practice it and what they do. If you claim to be Christian, but find it fun to beat up people who bug you, or get drunk and have group sex on the weekends, that won't reflect well on Christianity. When we claim to be Christian but act completely unChristian, we make hypocrites not only of ourselves but also of the religion we belong to.

How are the titles, "Christianity is a sin", "this is why i don't think i was created by "god", "When is enough enough. Boycott abrahamic faiths", not anti-Christian and not just anti-hypocritical? Plus, I never I was persecuted, I just said that they hurt my feelings.

The first is pointing out how Christianity, according to one interpretation of the Bible, is in itself hypocritical. The second, discussing disbelief in God, not anti-christianism. The third is an obvious troll.

You claim that people misjudge Christians, saying we don't tolerate enough (Which is something we ARE supposed to do) and then you belittle other people's beliefs, and you're giving off the air that everyone should follow Christianity.

Hypocrisy.

OKay, let me just point this out to you, writing an extra long response is not going to make you look smarter. Quality over quantity, little one. But by what you said, you weren't even responding to my post, you went off on this whole people don't like how intolerant we are when I was specifically discussing my conversations with other non-christians. When one judges another and then proceeds to bash them strictly based on their beliefs system, that's persecution, it doesn't have to be a large number of people, even though I highly doubt there isn't. You, who said "the ED boards are not anti-christian, they are anti-hypocrite." so therefore, you are generalizing and basically turning into a hypocrite yourself, and since I see no reason why I should insult my intelligence on someone like you, I'm cutting this conversation short. Go debate with your own "high IQ" self.

And you're NOT bashing the ED based on what you perceive to be their "anti-christian beliefs"?

What? The ED is a debate forum. Hypocrisy is illogical. In a debate, one must be logical. Therefore, in a debate one cannot be hypocritical and therefore, in the ED one cannot be hypocritical. The ED is anti-hypocrite. Duh. It's not a generalization.

I don't hate people, i get extremely frustrated with people. Kuroi may have "won" this argument. But you have to think, it's his opinion, and opinions aren't always right except for the person. There's a lot about Kuroi I don't agree with, so be it. He can run circles around my head, hell, maybe has the bible memorized, that doesn't make him right. The devil knows the bible better than any human, does that make him right? So this argument does not mean much to me, and just because I can't put words down like he can, does not make me wrong. It comes and goes with opinions really.

the whole topic of the thread is based on oppinion. "Do you think that the ED is anti-christian?" it's a question of oppinion. adn Kuroi points out that they aren't anti-christian, they are simply anti-hipocrite, which is true. the forums have no problem with me because i don't ram the bible down their throats.

you knwo what though, I'll be honest it's post like yours that make me want to carve the cross off my arm with a potato pealer adn go join the satanists, they at least tend not to fight among themselves. You equated Kuroi to the Devil and you let a major flaw slip, you let your dislike of him interfere with your comprehension of his points, which as far as i have read are well put. I'm not attacking your method of "putting words down" poorly worded arguments still work provided that they are backed strongly.

if you don't care abou this debate then why have you been keeping it up so long?
