Okay, the poll says the abduction. Good! Now for my other problem. Getting the alien home world to 'fit' the aliens...

Well, the aliens are vaguely humanoid. I say vaguely because they have 2 eyes, 2 legs, 2 arms, 1 head, and 1 body. That's there the similarity's end. They have tails, and slongated snouts. They don't had whites in their eyes, and their fingers is where I have the most problems. They had loooooong fingers and toes. They have thumbs (of course) so my problem is, what objects can I make that they can use easily? Doors, forks, ect? Doors I can slide, of have palm locks, but what about the other stuff?

i would suggest using their fingers for finesse things like keypads and texting, and weaving and artwork; any fine motor coordination.
they for applying strength, as in moving heavy objects, or even weilding a blunt tool like a hammer, maybe theyir tails could be prehensile and strong and they could use them?
coz since the fingers are not well braced into a support they would not be good for heavy work.

Although I'm a little late (Starly! I choose you!) my thoughts on how to start the story are:
Waking up just after being abducted, piecing the abduction together. Especially good if there's holes in her memory that she is able to intelligently fill in (displaying her smart side.)
For the environment, yeah, if you're going with a strong tail and long, flexible fingers, I'd imagine that a common way to use both would be to have many bars that the fingers could completely wrap around (for an incredible grip) in order to use the tail with minimal movement of the body.
As a rough example, let's say we're thinking about humans pulling a huge block of concrete. A rope would hang off of it and we'd hoist it over our shoulders and lean forward with bent knees. This is because we intend to use our legs to pull ; that's where most of our "strength" lies.
These aliens might have strong legs, too, but they might, instead, grab said bars and pull using their tail (if that's their strong point.) It's not a fully thought-out idea, of course, but I think that something along those lines wouldn't be a bad idea.
I guess for a more immediate example, if they're using their tails to do more of the heavy work, a really heavy security-esque door might have said bar next to it so that they could use their tail to open the door...
Well, those are the thoughts I had, anyways.

sorry, i meant to say their fingers were not well braced.
maybe they could have the strength and balance of a Wallaroo, using that tail?
"The Wallaroo The Wallaroo is a large kangaroo. It is a cross between a kangaroo and a wallaby. The Wallaroo is found in Northern Territory, Queensland, and Australia. The Wallaroo has a very strong tail it uses for balancing itself when they fight. The Wallaroo is very smart, instead of just using it's arms to punch it can use it's legs also. The Wallaroo's strength is equal to 5 times ours!!! " http://library.thinkquest.org/J002868F/kangaroo_pictures!.htm
