The problem is also the fact that the religion is a mankind creation. If god really exist(ed), it will be sawn before, actually, just the ignorance of some facts, or just a cheating of some stuff, is making a false proof of an existence of a God. And as usual, there are wars between religions, and as usual, there are modifications of the religion text (as of the history facts) for just manipulate some facts for getting to the way of someone's/some religions ideology. And there are also some extremist which tarabusting the souls of some lost persons with preformatted text in making believe that's the Bible or another not-so-old book.
Believe what you want, even if science could be terrific by some parts, i preffer believe in science in place of religion.
Think what you want, but when I see veiled arabic women in the street, i feel just pity to these person because it's like they are slave of a religion.
All my sentences are just regarding me, just be not offended if religion is your power, but well i preffer use another, renewable, power, the power of the facts, the power of the science. Science is more human than religion because science is knowledge and sharing, and religion is stupidity and a roll-up into himself

How would we know which is right? We don't hold all the answers to science and religion. You're not gonna find some bored person on Gaia who decides to wait until someone who "claims" they know which is right and which is wrong.

It's the many people who has a religion which makes the religion itself look stupid and strict. I don't really like Science so much because it provides so many theories that disclaim my religion.

It's not just a political control system, it's also a way to get a lot of money. Religion spends money and time from a person's life. It's why i don't agree with it. Not to mention other reasons why. That and, science is more reliable. You can't walk on water, you can't make the dead rise, and you can't heal a schizophrenic person with just prayer(no, you need a lot more then that). Science has the facts that seem more plausible; Religion, no. It's all too false.

Science and religion don't have to colide. The goal of science is to explain the physical world through hypothesis, observation, and experiment; religion explains the supernatural. Of course there are things in religion that have been disproved or for better terms (as to not offend anyone) offered another explination. The Bible was written in what 1445 B.C The creation of this world appeared supernatural and people created an explination. You can believe in science and still be religious.
"Science without religion is lame; religion without science is blind." —Albert Einstein
They don't have to cancel eachother out. Evolution and religion can coexist Evolution doesn't disprove God. Evolution could very well be a tool of God's.
Like other scientists of faith, Primack, who is Jewish and reads the Bible regularly, argues that the Bible must not be taken literally, but should be read allegorically. "One simply cannot read the Bible as a scientific text, because it's often contradictory," Primack said. "For example, in the Bible, Noah takes two animals and puts them on the Ark. But in a later section, he takes seven pairs of animals. If this is the literal word of God, was God confused when He wrote it?" -source

The problem with science and religion is where the two try to overlap each other. Science explains the how, religions try to explain the why. I think they need to stay out of each other's respective areas. It only causes anger and confusion on both sides when they stray.

The religion will a day disapear. The science will always stay. Science appeared long before the religion, a time where maybe the man wanted to know how the fire appeared, and how domesticate it. Religion appeared long after, when the humans needed to express his suffering to loose someone they lost. And religions always adapt their "books" to not be out of date. example when science prooved that earth is not the center of the universe, when Earth is a rounded planet and when we discovered planets, stars. When we could discover and explain anything, religion will have no place, or just to weak spirit which can easily be in ignorance, or in submission. Humans always had and have this little plus thing, the willing to discover, to explain what's behind each mystery, and the space conquest is just a matter of some 30-40 years, which is nothing compared to the whole human story, just a billionth part of a milli-second in the universe history

So long as it helps people in their lives, it will never disappear. Some people turn the worship of science into their religion (ie Michael Shermer). You sound like someone who hates religion and wishes it were gone. What you say about science appearing first is false. Both of them are human inventions to explain the world around them. There is no objective "Truth" that we humans can get at, as we are limited by our senses. Instead of fighting each other both should work toward the betterment of mankind.

Science is just correct and exact, until someone proove the opposite or improve the science.
Religion is just static core, with some changes to not be out of date with the progress (condoms, television, cell phones, ...)
I'm just atheic because I don't wanna give my life and my soul to something what is static and false.
For me, heaven and hell don't exist, there's just a place where souls go, and that's all. After, if they keep there or if they are reincarned, I don't care. Good and Bad are so subjective. There is no white nor black, there's a nuance of many different colors.

poetic emo goddess In my own opinion, science is the only thing that makes sense. Also, religion is just a way of controlling people (not like brainwashing, okay?). Religion was made during a time when mankind was ignorant and primitive. Also, it's a cause for many disputes in history. For example: Nothern Ireland the Spanish Inquisition 9/11 The Crusades The Divine Right of Kings Witch Trials in Europe and Asia the perpetuation of slavery The Dehumanization of other religious believers(and non-believers) The Subjugation of Women The refusal of some parents to give their children medical treatment, relying only on prayer and faith-healers the supression of science and indeed reason itself the decades of violence in the Middle East capital crimes against Women's Health care the war terror that we are currently in now See, the Bible potrays God as all-loving, all-knowing, and all-powerful. But when you look at society now, and read the bible closely, you'll notice that this is false. If God allows children to get cancer, sick men to rape women, and people attacking us, then he allows evil. So either he isn't all loving, so he doesn't care, he isn't all powerful, which means he can't do anything about it, or he isn't all knowing, meaning he doesn't know about it. You can have two outta three, but you can't have all three. There are many other ways to bust religious questions. For more info, go to youtube.com and search for An Atheist Answers Common Religious Questions. This is the source for my examples.(just wanted to say that so it isn't copyright or something sweatdrop ) I think you missed something. First of all, the Crusades was lead by lunatics that either didn't listen to what the Bible actually teaches, or they went insane. The Bible says nothing about killing those that don't believe in Christ. Over time, the Bible itself was being used for wrong reasons, and people screwed it up so that they could have an excuse for anything they do. As Emily said before, the Bible should not be taken literally, and many people do this. Otherwise, they misinterpret it, and think that going around killing all the non-believers is the right way to go.

Jad-Hoven EternalSoul_175 It seems that many people have confused science with religion. But, the Bible actually speaks of scientific facts that was already written before Christopher Columbus realized that the Earth was round. The Bible has verses pointing out that the Earth is round and all these other things. I am looking for the verses right now, so don't expect evidence just yet. Yes but the bible also states things as fact which can in fact be proven untrue. For example Human being have 24 ribs (12 sets) in both males and females. This is directly observable and testable (if you bother to look at a skeleton, people had some taboos against this in certain cultures in the past). The biblical story of the creation of woman states that men will have one less set of ribs than women... You are taking this way too literally. The Bible only stated that to Adam, as in Genesis, where God takes one of Adam's ribs and creates the woman, Eve.

Dahlia Thief Lord Miss TiramiZu Science is just correct and exact, until someone proove the opposite or improve the science. Prove science is always correct. > At least, it makes humanity more decent life. Religion is not worring about life conditions, it just worring about how to get much money, it's a business the religion.Quote: Religion is just static core, with some changes to not be out of date with the progress (condoms, television, cell phones, ...) It helped us most of the time. > It killed us most of the time! Without religion, there will be 60% less deathQuote: I'm just atheic because I don't wanna give my life and my soul to something what is static and false.
