Hmm...I'm not really much into philosophy, so I would be of little help.

The boundary between humanities/science is a little blurred for me since I am majoring in both a science and a humanities degree, and the field I intend to go into is considered a mixture of the two.

@Kabol: I would sooner shoot myself than take a Feminine Studies class. I hear they are incredibly anti-male in those classes (I would either wise drop out, unwisely keep stay in and shut up, or asininely stay in and argue).

I tend to view female rights the same way I view minority rights: everybody should be equal. Not give them the chance to do what we did to them for so many millennia.

Hm, subjugating men for a couple of years sounds like it might be fun! biggrin But maybe it's because I'm not on the receiving end... confused

Just kidding. I think having worldly control over my husbie is good enough. Ball and chain and all that good stuff. whee

But that's just the thing.

It all started not because men wanted to subjugate women, it is how our culture EVOLVED. The people who rose to power were men, and wanted to keep their sons in the business because that's who conducted the business, and thus the whole system was perpetuated.

The negative connotations placed on all these instututions, and the sexism and discrimination, etc. etc. came AFTER this stuff was already in place.

I don't see certain roles that have been "fitted" to the sexes as a bad thing. I see everything as integral, and we need each other. I also see, that either sex could fit either role (as history has shown throughout the ages), but the common associations have developed most likely out of pure convenience and the anatomically equipped.

I wasn't implying (well, not intentionally anyways) that.

I saw the word DOOM....I didn't read all that because it's to much for my little brain to hold...but it sounds hard.
