Deadly Lullaby Utakan You forgot the Phantom of the Paradise. Though that's just based off PotO and a TV movie. Oh well. Still counts in my book. ^^; Well, I have a list of the movies from a Lagniappe here when they did an article on Phantom of the Opera back in December. I'll go pull it off my wall and help you out. =P [EDIT] Damn woman. You got the list. o_o

Kitsune Ookami Did you know that there was a POTO movie made (or possibly just being made) in 1916 (before the Lon Chaney version), but it slipped into obsecurity? I find that pretty cool ^^

OK AFTER HOURS OF SEARCHING ON THE INTERNET!

I have found a surprisingly large list of 27 movies and most of them have pictures! Whee!!! 4laugh

I still can't believe how many porn versions of phantom there are... I saw like... 10 x_x and pictures to go with them... horrifying.... gonk
One of the movies I REALLY want to see is Opera!! Reading the summary I was like "WOW!!!!!" Cuz the Phantom kidnaps Christine, then makes her watch him killing her loved ones in brutal fasions ninja It seems very creepy and I want to see!!!!

Tim Burton really needs to make his own version. With Johnny Depp as Erik. I will be happy forever then.
Umm, the only versions I've seen are the Lon Chaney version, and the ALW version. Though I rented Phantom of the Paradise, Dario Argento's version, and the Robert Englund version from Netflix, so I can have a Phantom orgy. I know, I rented all the weird ones. It was completely intentional.

It was completely intentional. Well, for the ahead of time, here's my opinions on those movies, just to get a review. Phantom of the Paradise: My favorite by far next to Robert Englund's 1989 making. The only thing I hate is the ending and Phoenix, who is the Christine in this excursion. Her voice annoys me for some reason. Dario Argento's Phantom of the Opera: Only watch if you don't get ill easily. I'm a hardcore horror film fan (grew up on 'em) and I was even squirming with this stuff. Besides, there's rape and rats. Half the stuff Mr. Argento put in here made no sense and Mrs. Argento as Christine gives the character a bad rap. She played a better role in the recent Day of the Dead. Robert Englund's Phantom of the Opera: Second fave to PotP. But I think it's cuz they involved Faust (which is my favorite opera). Only thing I don't like is "Richard"s (the Raoul in this) role and attitude, the travelling back in time bull, and the changing of the storyline so it better suited a bad rip-off of Faust. But it's a good film. Knowing me, I'll end up giving in-depth descriptions about all the PotO films I've seen just because I can. Gawd, wish I still had my Phantom of Manhatten review. That took me so long.

You must've seen a lot of versions of PotO then. I plan to see all I can get my hands on. I already am pretty sure that I'll like Dario Argento's version the least of all PotO movies, but I'm not easilly grossed/freaked out so, yeah. I'm just seeing it for shits and giggles anyhow. The Robert Englund version sounds quite funny for some reason. Maybe because I find the Freddy movies strangely amusing in a dumb way. And the Phantom of the Paradise, I knew I had to see it when I heard that in that one Erik's face gets caught in a record press. It just sounds bizzare. And then I'm going to see the TV movie version. And then, everything else that I can.
And, don't even get me started on Phantom of Manhattan. It was just...way too out there for my taste.

Well, I've seen my share. I only own the Lon Chaney version, Dario Argento's mess of a movie, and the 2004 film, but I rent a lot of movies when I have the time.
Mr. Argento is a twisted man. But, I'm leaving your opinion up to you. Though I don't think I've ever met a phan who honestly enjoyed it as a PotO interpretation.
I'm not a fan of the Nightmare on Elm Street series (repetative stuff; though finding out Freddy had a daughter was fun) but Robert England does a very good performance in the 1989 film. Very convincing, in my opinion, if not highly amusing.
Well, the Phantom's name in PotP is Winslow. Many people say he can't sing, but I love the music from the movie. And yeah, he does get his head stuck in a record press, albeit you don't see the true ugliness until the end. And believe me, worst Phantom deformity I've seen so far. But I do love the plunger scene. I saw someone do an oekaki of it one time, but I doubt I could find it.

I only own the 2004 movie, and, well, I like it, but it's not my favorite. Erik seems a bit of a wuss.
I was lucky (or unlucky, as it were) enough to end up with quiz results that said I was most like the Christine in Dario Argento's movie. I still can't figure out how I ended up with that result.
I don't really like the Freddy movies, as in "Wow. That movie was so good. I'm going to think about the meaning of life now." They're just amusing, mainly because they're pretty dumb.
I actually thought the deformity in PotP would be kinda lame. I saw his teeth, which looked messed up, and his eyes were demented-looking, but I just thought he would be sort of like Claude Raines. I can't wait to see that one now. Does he look at all like Leroux!Erik, or is he really different? His deformity sounds pretty cool now. (Then again, I'm a perv who thinks deformed people are hot, so don't listen to me.)

ya know? I kinda came to the realization that the Labrynth was somewhat similar to the Phantom of the opera.
ya know? Guy goes after girl. Girl goes after another guy she really loves. big chase. Kidnapping....
maybe that's just me... xd

Avoid the 1962 Phantom like the plauge- I cant belive that was the only old phantom title they have- i cant even find the classic silent PotO for rent gonk
