Yeah, I was reading DM in class once and one of my classmates started reading it over my shoulder. Kind of embarrassing seeing as I was reading one the more 'racy' parts lol I've never been caught by a teacher, though.

My teachers were always smart enough not to touch my book. I was the quiet kid that was doing the unexpected plus they couldnt get me on it becuase I always had the answer they wanted when I was reading. So they didnt have an excuse to make me stop reading.

I brought a paperback version of one of the novels to school to read once and nobody really mentioned anything to me. Though, they wouldn't've, most of them thought, and probably still do think, that I was a "goth". My high school was filled with perky, drunk people. Plus, half of my friends brought full-blown smut with the outrageous covers to school and read during lunch. Though, a few covered them up. We'd pass around the books for a steamy scene and laugh like crazy because sometimes it was just so ridiculous.
I'm happy my English teacher didn't take my book even though she'd catch me reading. She was a petite red-head who seemed to like me a lot, even though I didn't care for her. She probably would've freaked out if she read any of it. I think she asked me what I was reading while I had a book there and I told her. I still wonder if she looked it up or not and what her reaction was. xd blaugh

Lol I got strange looks from both my friends and teachers when I was reading Guilty Pleasures in class. I saw why they were looking at me, I mean the title is a little umm....racy? I dunno what word Im looking for but I got some pretty weird stares. My friend told me that he didn't know i was into dirty books like that, I told him that there werent any dirty scenes, at least not in the way he was thinking. My English teacher didn't really approve of the series, considering the titles. But she hasn't even red them so she wouldn't know. My English teacher is a small woman with an annoying voice. She even asked me out loud in front of the class to stop reading that particular book...But i never did stop reading it

My Granddad saw me reading Micah and he looked over my shoulder and read a little part of it which unfortunately was a sex scene lol. He didn't say much but he never reads of my shoulder anymore! Whoot!

Um, I used to get my books taken up all the time. None of my teachers carred enough to read them and those who read the tittles either assumed they were the "fluffy romantic" novels I usually read or dark and containing no more than Anne Rice would put in hers. Honestly I dread the day my parents start reading because I doubt they know what the hell is in any of the books I read. Plus the fact that most of the later stuff contains at least a bit of s and m, which I truly don't mind but they may find...odd. rolleyes

Ok, I have a completely different story for you all:
So one day, I was sitting in AP Calculus class, waiting for everyone else to show up, but there ended up being some engeneering thing going on, so there were only 3 ppl in class. It was me, this Spanish kid, an Asian kid, and my male calc teacher. Well, my teacher was reading Twilight, and i asked if it was any good since i'm a big fan of the vampire stuff, and so we got on the topic of vampire books. And to make what could be a long story short, he actually recomended that i read the Anita blake books!
I find it funny since all of you talk about being caught reading them in class, and every time my teacher sees me reading, he comes over just to see what page i'm on =P lol. good times.

I haven't been caught with Anita Blake because I haven't been in school for several years now, but when I was studying in Quebec awhile back I was writing and my French teacher said very clearly, "Regarde moi, Daniele." I was the first to get caught not paying attention in a room full of strangers. ^_^
I was also caught in government reading a smut book [senior year] and my teacher said, "Daniele, we don't read Those books here." Why I kept getting called out on it out loud I'll never know.
