I read a study that saw that the longest essays on the SAT received in general higher scores. Granted, the kids who will write more are probably the kids who write better ayways.

i can write really well sometimes. essays, anyway. i just have to get the right prompts and i can write a good, long paper. what are the prompts like?

oh my gosh... i can't even remember the prompt i got for the new SAT... (i took it in june) um.. i think it was just.. you had to write an essay on what you think was the most life changing invention of the century and why. i can't remember what i wrote about. i was so stressed out that day that i was in a daze the whole time. but, i got a 9 of 10 on the essay so whatever lol.

I'm going to be a vagabond. I like being naive enough to think that I'd live happily forever roaming from town to town without a job or a house.

...but I'll probably just be a history teacher.

I think I may be a history teacher as well but I'm not really worried about it now, I have years to decide.

a professor at m.i.t. did a study that found that the more words you write, the higher your score is. he found that it correllated almost perfectly; it was the closest correllation he'd ever seen.

to stay on topic, i have a question for y'all. what are the girls' ambitions like where you are? the people i hang out with have a definite plan for their lives, but most of the girls here don't have many plans beyond getting married, raising children, maybe being a teacher.

I dream of being a curator at the British Museum but the likelyhood that I will ever be able to achieve this goal is rare considering I'm 17 & mucked up my As exams! I think I might just join you two in the happy band of History teachers!

I'm only 13, but have been planning my future very closely since I was about 8.

I have decided recently that I will graduate high school, take a year-long break then go out of country for college in the UK. I plan on going to the University of Glasgow for either Arts, Veterinary Medicine or Medicine, if it works the same as the colleges do here (I'm not sure), I'd like to major in medicine and minor in arts, or double major. I'm looking forward to it so much...have been taking my schoolwork more seriously lately. =]

Curse you all. It must be really great to even have an idea of what you want to do. Right now I know what I don't want to do, but it hasn't taken me any closer to figuring out what I'm even going to take in college, let alone do for the rest of my natural life. Or try to do.

me too! we should start a club or something.
it's cool having another thirteen-year-old on here. i didn't know there was one.

it kind of concerns me, because i start to feel like i'm doing everything for the wrong reasons. i love learning, i really do, and i take advanced classes because i enjoy them (and they look good on a college application). i started doing community service this year. why? because it looks good on a college application. i want a leadership position in spanish club. why? because there are like five people in it, so it'll be easy, and it looks good on a college application. i do love spanish, and community service isn't that bad, but i wish i were a better person and actually wanted to help others.

I want to be a photographer for National Geographic or CNN.

Maybe a camera person for CNN or something.....

I also want to be an actress or a fantasy novel writer.

I have high dreams... and I'll reach them... because I plan to graduate college! (Unlike my brothers... e_e)

Also, any advice on convincing my parents to get me a guitar? Or fix my dad's old one? sweatdrop

I took the new SAT this month, actually; I don't know my exact score, but I know that I'm around 1800-2000. I got an 8 on the essay out of 12; both of my graders graded mine a 4. The topic was about whether history was still relevant today. (Which is an obvious DUH).

Me, I'm pretty sure about what I want; it's now a matter of colleges. Looking at the score stats I got in the mail a few days ago, I'm perfectly elligible to enter UCLA or Cal Poly or those other universities, so I'm happy about that. whee

As a kid, I was forced into thinking that when I grew up, I'd be a doctor. It's an Asian thing. A few years back, I was like, screw that, I'm majoring in art. Heartbreaking for my parents, yeah. But I'd be much happier this way. I'm not much of a money person; I'm not materialistic, I don't need the newest Coach bag. Having a fun job is more desirable to me than having a high-paying job. So, I'm considering a job in Advertising and Marketing. Advertising's always interested me, anyways. I love looking at a nice ad in a magazine. I'm weird like that.

The only problem I have is my whole second-guessing. Am I good enough? Is my portfolio going to be accepted if I enter an art school or FIDM? I've been doing anime, but I've been branching out to vectoring and painting more. Plus, looking around deviantART does tend to deflate any ego you might have. I've also got a yearning to be on stage; I'm not Oscar-worthy at all, so that keeps bringing me down. I'm trying my best, but I need some more self-worth. xd

*sorry for the long unfocused rant*
