Isi took that as a yes, and caught up with him easily. She could sortof see it from here, if she squinted. The lioness focused on running, though. Then she remembered Simi, and slowed down, certainly not wanting to lose him.
They were almost there now, she could make out the birds. They were a lovely light blue, like the sky, but with hard black eyes and a cruel beak. There were feathers, too, small and a vibrant blue.

"H-hey!" The dark lioness soon passed the little cub, his legs not carrying him too far along, not with how short they were. He soon caught up with Isi, though, breathing a bit heavily as he slowed down. "Isi moves fast," he said quickly, catching his breath back slowly.
"Do...do ya see 'em?" He breathed, slowly keeping up with the dark lioness' pace. He hoped it wouldn't be too much longer, but he certainly wouldn't give up easily, either.

"Yeah, I do!" Isi said, between muffled chuckles. He had such short legs. "They're blue-ish," They were getting close now, only a few yards away. Then they could do something else, maybe? He probably had parents, though, she reminded herself. He might have to go home. The thought depressed her slightly.
Surely he could see the feathers now, too. They really were very pretty.

Blue?! Blue sounded really pretty! "Yay!" was all that popped out of his mouth at this time, a huge smile on his face as he couldn't wait to go see. They had to be really pretty, then! He trusted Isi on this, and strutted next to her, happy that he had someone to help him, too. This might be only the best find ever!
His little tail bobbed behind him as he saw the tree slowly get larger. Well, they must be getting closer! Because it looked (at his standpoint) to be as tall as a giraffe, and those were really really tall. "Is that the tree, Isi?" he asked, a bit nervously. It did seem tall to him. How would they get it?

"Yep. Lucky for us, we don't have to climb it." Isi gave a little nervous laugh. That would be horrible, if they had to climb it. But no, there were a few of those lovely feathers on the ground, just waiting to be picked up. "There are plenty down here for you to pick one." She said, nodding. "Aren't they pretty?" The lioness gazed at them, before picking up a small, slightly ragged one. She would keep it, there was still enough for Simi.
Relaxing after the run, she leaned against the tree trunk, nestled in the shade.

Simi gasped when he saw the feathers, and bounced up to them quickly. Oooh, these were perfect! And he wouldn't of found them without the help of Isi. He groomed over the feathers, trying to decide which one to take. There were enough to take one back to each of his parents, but which ones?
After a few moments of indecisions, he soom picked a plump one for his mother, and a long one for his father. He decided to leave the rest here, just in case someone else needed to find something pretty for someone. He stuck the feather in the fluff on top of his head, snug enough that they wouldn't fall out, but they sure did look a little silly sticking out of his head like that.
"Thank you, Isi." He said politely as he walked up to her, offering her a little bow.

The lioness giggled when she saw Simi with the feathers in his hair. "Are you sure... you want to travel like that?" He looked hilarious like that, and it was all she could do not to burst into a fit of laughter. "I'll uh.. carry them if you want." Anything to keep him from looking like that.
"Huh? Why thank me? I should be thanking you!" Isi said, playfully poking him with one of her huge paws - gently, of course. "Do you have to go home, now?" There was a bit of sadness in her voice, but she understood.

Simi strutted around defiantly at the thought of a female carrying his things. He knew better then that! "No, I'll be alright." It was painfully obvious that the cub had no idea what he looked like to others. All he knew what that it was: mission accomplished! He had got what he wanted, and was nearly ready to go home. Well, maybe. He just didn't want to lose his precious treasure.
"Weeeell," he started, thinking about it. There was still a lot of day left, even if it took him a good while to walk all the way out here. He looked back at Pride Rock behind him, thinking for a moment. "I think....I still have some time to play, Isi." He glanced back over at her, smiling that goofy kid smile. "Was there somethin' else ya wanted to look for?"

"Are you.. uh.. absolutely sure?" She muffled another giggle. If only he could see himself, heh. Oh, why not? Grinning, she tucked her blue feather behind and ear, so it was wedged between her hair tuft, and the cartilage of her left ear. "Oh, you do?" The lioness tried not to sound too excited. "Are you sure? Cus, you know, if you have to go back, I'll totally understand..." But it was too late, she was already grinning.
When the question came to mind, her first thoguht was that place with the endless water, the vague memory. It was quickly pushed back, though. "Idunno, actually. What 'bout you?"

Simi didn't really get what she was grinning about. What? Did she think of something fun? He eyed her carefully, wondering what she was thinking about. "Yeah, I'm sure I can. For a little bit, anyway." He plopped himself in a sitting position, since he was kind of tired of standing up so much. His neck craned to look up at her, but that was probably because he was sitting so close to her.
He cocked his head to the side, his head fluff flopping over to cover one of his ears. "I dunno, either. I thought you mighta had something in mine, or something..." his words drifted as he caught sight of a butterfly. His instant urge was to chase after it, but so far he was doing a good job and keeping his attentions with Isi.

"Oh, great!" Her grin turned a little wider, and her ears perked forward. Now, what to do with this precious time? They could go to the water hole, but she wasn't sure whether or not he could swim. The lioness didn't want to get too far away from the border, either. That could also be bad. Isi nibbled delicately on the inside of her lip, thinking. Nothing.
She gave another shrug, adding a slight sigh. "I don't really... I don't know my way around this place much, I just stay near the edge I guess." The lioness furrowed her browns slightly. "Is there anything you like to do?" Her silver eyes were glued to the butterfly as she talked, but she sat still as a stone. There would be other butterflies.

Simi didn't notice the butterfly, but he was curious on why she stayed near the edge of the Pridelands. Why? There wasn't anything scary in here! He huffed a bit, really really reeeeally wanting to ask her, but it might be kinda rude to ask her. He bit his tongue and followed to where she was looking, and noticed the butterfly. It didn't interest him too much, but he saw she liked it. So girls really liked pretty things, huh?
"Uhh..." soon spilled out of his mouth, and he quickly latched his paws on his mouth. Oops! How to cover that up, talk talk talk! "Uhh, well," he started, feeling embarassed and a little trapped. "We could play witha butterflies?"
He wasn't sure, though, that he should be here for too much longer. Even though he really liked Isi, and thought that she was nice, there was still the fact that he didn't want his mother to worry about him, and he really didn't want to get grounded, stuck inside the cave for days and daaays (more like a couple days, but for kids, it seemed like forever).
"I'm sorry, Isi, though, I think I should get home." He offered her a bow, left one of the really pretty blue feathers for her, and scampered off through the grasses, towards home. Towards Pride Rock.
