I played the games when they first came out for the Sega CD. We eventually sold our Sega CD but I ended up getting the PS versions of the games. I'm kind of partial to the Sega CD versions though. They got rid of the random encounters, changed some of the music (I was so mad when I went into the Star Dragon Tower in the epilogue of Lunar 2 and they had changed the music, that was one of my favorite tracks), and also changed some of the boss battles. (Borgan in the original Lunar 2 was a b***h to fight, also in Bandit Butte they took out the boss fight you had at the top of the area) I've always liked Lunar 2 more than Lunar 1 though. I've probably played the game a good 30+ times lol I love the games though. Funny dialog, great characters, and a good battle system.

But i will say that I find the fact that they took out the random battles a major plus!

I played Lunar Legend on the GBA about four or five years ago, whenever it came out, and fell in love with Ghaleon. I think it was the dorky hat or something. I wish I could've played the original version and Lunar 2 though...

I played SSSC but not the second one. I heard that if you really enjoyed the first one, the second game would only serve to disappoint you. But, judging by what was written here, I may have to pick it up sometime.
I really enjoyed Lunar because it was an "old school" RPG. I always love the nostalgia.

The second one is a lot different then the first, but it still is fun. I would play it, even if I liked the first one better. I love them both equally of course. ^_^

The Lunar games were my first RPGs and got me into gaming, and its still my favorite series. (My prized item? The Lunar I + II Artbook) The sega cd and playstation games were classic, although the GBA remake was just mediocre and Lunar biggrin S just plain sucked. They're fantastic games though, I'd recommend anyone who enjoys classic RPGs to go out and try the PS1 or Sega CD versions.
The music in Lunar: The Silver Star, was fantastic by the way. <3 Definitely the best from its time.

ji-an cattlazy Was this for the PS or PS2 i have heard of it IT was for the play-station. This game had gone unseen because of the Final Fantasy Series. There's also a version of the first game on the gameboy adcanced. There is another one on the DS as well. I have the first then. I got stuck really bad and the game gliched and wouldn't let me leave this one cave so I had to restart. My brother was at the end and he started a new game! I don't know whats wrong with him. gonk
