DO be an idiot ant try to get power? Are you crazy?

I think everybody should strive for power, using the most dangerous means necessary. This way the weak are weeded out.

Yeah, and so are the Strong, who meet with unfortunate accidents. XD

That said though, I don't think there's such a thing as "the weak", cause folk who're weak in one respect will likely mean they make up for it in other areas. Maybe. =o

Wise words as always Mitsh =P. However I'm willing to take the gamble of an unfortunate accident.

All in all, in the end it will still be fun.

The FLCL Guy
I have many, some of me and some stories of students I had.

Ill start with my worst one.

It was summer and at the time I was obessed with getting stronger, better and so on.
It all started when my friend decided to try to make a "kao ken"((from dbz)) technique.
So being the genius I am I helped him and developed a dangerous technique with awsome results.
His version he would draw in alot of energy from his suroundings and fill his chakaras to their max and let it go and explode.
It worked and increased his abillity(strength, speed, and so on) but afterwords he would burn out for a week or so.
My version was more intense and so damaging I still havent recoverd from it fully.
I wont explain everything but basicaly I found a way to convert physical energy into lower forms of energy like Ki, Chi, and/or other energies.
Its results were amazing and unbelivible, I was able to lift a car off the ground about an inch! and was able to run at equaly amazing speeds.
But the techniques after effects were horrible and I basicaly had only enough energy to live and could only get out of bed to eat and do other neccessary things.
After a month I was able to play the computer and after a couple monthes I could function as much as someone burnt out.
And after about 6monthes I was able to feel my energy again and I had to try to mend the mess, luckly my friend helped me do it and I thank him so much for helping me during that.
In short do be an idiot and try to harm yourself to get power.

I have to say I stopped reading at DBZ.

Do you think you'd be here if this was human practice at all? The strong would die without the intelligent. The intelligent would die without the strong. We are not all quite so gifted as to be both intelligent and as strong as the turning world. neutral

Yes, exactly that. I don't see how you can expect anyone to take the creation of something from an overtly fictional anime seriously.

Off of a dumb show at that.
Do you wave sparkly wands at demons and say "Moon Therapy Honeymoon Kiss" too? Or do you throw tiaras at them? What about transformations? Do you do those? With sailor suit and all?

Yes. >8[

But no. |D

Surely to Christ one could glean /something/ from DBZ. I mean, there's this whole 'psiball' thing in psionics, where you make some sort of sphere with etheric energy, which could transliterate as a kamehameha of sorts if pushed out with enough force, or something? Obviously the results won't be a cloud of dust that part to reveal (gasp!) that the opponent is still standing, but the principle is the same.

Having seen how ki/chi really works at the hands of Shaolin and Aikijutsu masters, I can safely say that you're not going to get much, if anything, from watching a TV show.

Watching certain anime like DBZ and Naruto, as well as that Nicktoon Avatar, I can say that they draw on real life practices or concepts such as chi/ki/etc. There's even an episode of Avatar that has a fairly accurate description of the chakra system. Naturally, with it being anime, these concepts get skewed for entertainment value as it is fiction.

You could reverse engineer the things you see in the show, but I wouldn't expect a power level of over nine thousand or anything.

And you probably shouldn't try to climb trees without your hands as seen in Naruto.

It's fun to watch and you can gain some ideas or at least insights from it, but I'd be careful about saying "OMG I can do kamehameha". It's bad enough that people already see ki and chakra as inventions of anime and not as inspirations.

So yeah, that's my two cents. xd
