[yay for inspiration!]

Ayame looked up at keirro as she was spoken to and gave the woman a quizzical look. What was that supposed to mean? She twitched her wings and turned her attentions to the corner where she had last seen the...was it a reverie, or was she seeing things? Maybe she was...the goat...but it's real...she cuddled it absently as if to remind herself of it's place in reality.

Slowly she crept over to where she had seen it dissapear, letting a small glow form about her as she approached the dark recesses behind the sofa, hoping it would be enough to penetrate the shadows. She set down the little goat and took hold of the sofa to peek around behind it.

Lavi held her tongue, baffled by the situation, and too disturbed to speak as it was. "Keirro, you definitely have something to explain now...this is...all too bizarre..." She thought to herself as she followed Ayame's movement after her unceremonious imiffing of Keirro. What to do....

Keirro pursed her lips. It was a very bizarre situation to say the least. The best thing to do was to remain calm. Keirro had never delt with this kind of situation before and it was very difficult for the doctor to admit when she was stumped. She spent a lot of time and mental strength keeping her patients from guessing her true emotions.
Keirro felt that she owed it to her patients to remain calm and collected. Otherwise, what would they do? They would start to panic and then no progress could be made.
"Does she often get lost in her subjects like this?" asked Keirro, out of curiousity.

The reverie charged again at Ayame, determined to get at the coat. It dashed behind the couch and full speed towards Ayame and her goat.

Lavi managed a confused look for the question, "Her subjects? Like, her drawings....? I...yes...well, she doesn't take her attention off of one if she's working on it, she just...keeps going."

Lavi felt completely alone in the room, with ayame absorbed in her creation and the thing of keirro's, and keirro's seeming understanding of the whol thing, as if she knew what would happen next but wouldn't tell. Inwardly she held herself, trying not to let her disturbed feelings of the matter show, grasping for a shadow that held itself present within her, something more pleasant then all of this...insanity...what was going on....She didn't know, not anymore, and to have come to keirro for guidance in the matter, for ayame, and to be the only one lost? She kept her head up despite the force pulling it down.

Ayame didn't see the reverie until it was nearly upon her, even the glow she was emitting was swallowed up by the darkness behind the couch, until the thing appeared in her face. She screamed and tossed the goat at it, only to see it pass through it as it had before, only to strike the floor and vanish in a cloud of colors and dusted crayon bits. She braced herself and closed her eyes, wanting nothing more then a place to hide at the moment as she huddled to the floor and against the couch to try and avoid the thing bearing down on her.

[hope going ahead and assuming the goat would do that wasn't a problem, just lemme know, just figured since it had once it would a second time.]

Keirro watched in shock as she observed the reverie's assult on the poor child. Keirro's ability to think on inpluse was more renown than her ability to calculate and plan ahead. Keirro leaped out of her chair , grabbed a spraybottle filled with water and descended onto the reverie like an angered hawk.
"No means NO! Bad!" barked Keirro as she unleased aquatic fury onto the reverie, only to get small spots on her couch and carpet damp.

However, the reverie did show signs of being startled. It didn't get wet, but it did stop charging towards Ayame and hunched its back like a feline. The Reverie scuttled away from Ayame and back into a corner. The scene was reminescent of watching a lion tamer perform with his beast. The reverie flicked it's misty tail in clear aggitation, but it showed no signs of being distracted from Keiro and attempting escape from its corner.

Lavi found herself speechless again as the counsellor leapt across the room in an apparent single bound[though she well knew it wasn't THAT fast] to begin spraying something out of sight behind the couch that Ayame had gone behind. As Keirro begin yelling Lavi leapt to her feet, misinterpretating the action entirely as being directed at Ayame. She hurried over to the couch to glare at keirro as she looked Ayame over. "Whatever did Ayame do?! Leave her be, I didn't-" but Ayame, saved from the sudden menace, squirmed free of Lavi's hands and edged her way towards the reverie, her curiousioty undampened by the event, unlike the couch and carpet.

She came as close as she dared, which surprisingly was not more then a foot away, and tried to get a better look at the reverie. It was all cloudy....this was an illusion, she could tell for sure now, but...had she looked like that before? Timidly she reached out a little hand to try to poke the thing, it seemed absorbed in it's attention on keirro, but she wasn't totally certain of that. "Hello?" she choked the word past her anxiety of what would happen next.

Keirro stood firm in her stance as she watched Ayame inch near the mist. She wanted to tell Ayame to back away, but the scientist in Keirro told her to watch. Ayame seemed magnetically attracted to this illusion, but Keirro couldn't understand why. Was there a link between the two? Keirro's Kept her spraybottle aim on the Reverie as she quietly watched Ayame. Her curiousity was quite evident. She furrowed her brow as she observed the scene unfold before her.

The Reverie arched its back at Ayame. It was obviously quite frightened, almost it was difficult to actually make out what the mist was supposed to look like. It was no longer felinelike, but something more alien and strange. The eyes looked anmalistic but glowed green. It was the size of a small feline now and looked nearly powerless to stop Ayame from trying to touch it.

As Lavi figured out what Keirro had been fussing at she quieted down and just watched, trying again to trust keirro's judgement in the matter. this was odder then back when mereneth had first appeared to her, long ago....

Ayame let her hand come down slowly into contact with the reverie, holding it carefully at that point, worried she would pass into it. the eyes swirled into view and then the seeming figure of a small kitty...was it not bad? she took her hand back and knelt down, then reached out again to place it slowly against the reverie, wondering if she would find any solidity to it unlike her now vaporised goat...thing.

This was good. ayame was confronting a thing that terrorized her moments ago. That was a sign of a healthy mental state as well as an egarness to explore, and a healthy curiousity. Keirro, personally, had never touched the thing.
"What is that you found Ayame?" asked Keirro gently.

If one was adventurous enough to touch the mist, they might find that it wasn't wet or cold at all. It might feel that was was having thier hand envelope in warmth or something soft. Reverie did not seem to react harshly to being touched even though it was easy to pass an object through it. There was some faint sense of solidity though. Almost like running a hand through water.

However, no one had ever touched the reverie, so there was no way of knowing what it really felt like to run a hand through it. The more solid looking parts or the reverie were exactly that. They were not permiable like the vague pacthes were.

Ayame slowly let her hand settle into and then on the more solid portion of the reverie, smiling slightly and beginning to giggle as the weird feeling of the mist about it encompassed her wrist. After leaving her hand there for a moment she turned ger head to keirro as best she could.

"Is reverie, illusion, like me *giggle* though...it's scareded, can feelit scareded of bottle..." she ran her hand down the feline looking part of it as if petting one of the many kitties neighbors kept and lavi let her pet. This wasn't a kitty, she reminded herself, but...was little illu, newer then her. "Why you scared it?"

It was a what? Keirro blinked. She lowered the spraybottle and raised an eyebrow at Ayame.
"I thought it was going to hurt you. " replied Keirro. She had never heard the term reverie before in her life. Shecarefully kneeled next to Ayame. Perhaps this was simply a child's imagination at work.
"Would you mind telling me what a reverie is?" she asked calmly.

The mist swished it's translucent tail back and forth. It still remained hunched at ready to spring at any moment.

Ayame scrunched her brow in thought, how to explain this? Lavi certainly wasn't offering input...another thing to think about later maybe. "Reverie is....is it, was me too...do not know it's name though, maybe you do? It...it..."she struggled to think of a way to explain it further and offered keirro a shrug of her shoulders as she found no better words to answer the question. "Not hurt me, being t'self. It...it must have you, to be....to...be?" The words no longer left her lips then she felt confused again, and turned her full attention back to the reverie to avoid looking at keirro.

"It...You...ok?" She smiled softly at it and sat down while continuing to pet it gently. it seemed so...so...she found herself wondering what word she was looking for as she tried to interact with the reverie, not knowing what result it might bring about.

Keirro set the spraybottle down as she sat across from Lavi. She glanced at the guardian.
"How do YOU feel about all this?" Keirro replied. She couldn't think of anything else to say and was eagar to divert the conversation from the Reverie.

The Reverie started to settle down, but still remained crouched in the corner like a housecat. It seemed aloof, but content to let Ayame pet it. It squinted its green eyes in content, but made no purring sounds.

Lavi went back to her seat from where she had been standing beside Keirro and flopped down, one hand to her lips as she tried to think on the question. It made more sense now...if Ayame was right anyhow.... maybe...

"I think...That I have seen far more today as far as new things go in both Ayame and those around me...then i may be prepared to see. Ayame's....power...surprised me so, and now...if what you told me earlier is actually a reverie...like Ayame claims...you are it's mother in effect...but...I...I feel lost is what I feel, truly. I came in hopes of getting help but i've only managed to create more questions to ask you...and..."

Lavi bit her lip to silence herself, feeling as if she was just jabbering on...maybe keirro's job was to listen to that kind of thing but...it unnerved her to be doing it. She looked across the room at keirro, hoping perhaps for some answer or some...some clue.

Ayame continued stroking it softly as she settled herself into a sitting position as she tried to gaze into the eyes she could somewhat make out through the mist. She tilted her head slightly, unsure if words would mean much, or if she had the words to say that it would decide to react to.

"It'll be okay." said Keirro. She was trying to reassure herself as well as Lavi. She could see that the guardian was distrought and Lavi could use some encouragement.
"So far, you appear to be doing a fine job of being a guardian. Ayame's frustrations stem mostly from her inability to communicate clearly. I wouldn't worry too much about that. There are many ways to communicate with young children and develop a tighter bond with them. In fact, she is at a prime age to learn sign language and she may find it easier to communicate with sign language as well as pictures." said Keirro as she smiled at Lavi.
"Keep her motivated to suceed in life and everything will fall into place, in my opinion."

Not even Keirro knew if the reverie truly understood verbal communication. It clearly understood yelling and commands, but that could be interpreted in many ways. The reverie tolerated Ayame's petting. But it still seemed to refrain from becoming attached to the toddler.

Lavi bit her lip and pondered Keirro's statement. Sign language...she didn't even know sign language...

"How...how can I teach Ayame sign language if I don't know it myself? Won't it be...well useless if I don't...oh...OH...what if...I were to learn it with her? Make it sort of a team effort?"

She couldn't see Ayame for the couch but she watched on as if somehow she could make out the little butterfly winged girl.

As she stroked the reverie she thought on what to do, or say for that matter, as she looked into it's eyes....a beautiful green....She found herself nearly hypnotised as she stared into the depth and...that green....so pretty....

Shaking her head she snapped to and stopped stroking the reverie. What was it that was so interesting about it? she shrugged and made to stand up, ready to go back and sit with Lavi.
