Kiefer nodded "Yes... not quite the most uplifiting subject for two soquilis to take up after just meeting after quite some time" he said, letting a smile cross his face.
"Ah, well. I think I take it to a new level. I mean... I guess I sort of hassle them about stallions and such whenever I see them, and I lose my temper a bit when I see someone say anything even remotly offencive to them. So...yea" he said, knowing that he was a bit extream with his protectivness. But really...he just couldn't help it.
"I am not sure if I really enjoy it. I mean... I start acting stupid, and I know I am, and I want to stop, but I just can't you know? I have all this stuff in my head that I just need to say, and if I don't, I feel like I wasn't right to my sisters."

She gave him a grateful smile and focused on the other subjects.
She laughed and shook her head, disagreeing with him, "Thay may not like your interference, but at least they have it." She shrugged, "You're definitely a good brother and in the long run," She looked up at him, "I'm sure everything will be okay;"
She glanced about the area as they walked for a moment before answering, "I at least think you're doing a good thing." She grinned, "But I doubt I'd enjoy it either if someone was trying to stop me from doing something or prevented me from seeing someone."
She laughed and shook her head, somewhat understanding his situation, "You feel that if you keep silent about it, something could happen and then you'd regret it for the rest of your life, right?" She asked, glancing at him, "It's not stupid, Kiefer," She looked away, "It's because you care."

((Sorry for the long reply wait, I must must have accientally skipped over thos =o ))
Kiefer grinned, at least she understood him, a little. His sisters felt sufficated, he knew. They wanted to be independent now that they were adults, wanting to break away from being sheltered just like he wanted too. But they still had big brother watching over.
"Thanks, Az" he said, meaning it. It was good to have someone accually say what he felt was so right to do was accually, well...right to do.
"yes, It is that exactly!" ah, she really did understand. "If something ever happened to them" he shook his head "I just couldn't live, you know?"
They came across the same woods taht they had gone too so long ago, he could see a the spot where they had gone there, there was a bit of a path that others might have used. "He look, remember this?" he said with a smile, curious if the ravine was still as long and as steep as he remembered it.

((Tis fine! <3 I kept putting off posting all those I had replied to. XD; ))
Azariel grinned at him, ""No problem! Wish my brothers would do that," She shook her head, "But that's too much to ask right now," She smiled gently at him, happy and a bit jealous toward his sisters who had someone who cared enough to do that to them. They probably didn't enjoy it (just look at the way Kiefer was acting) but they at least had someone looking out for them.
She nodded once, "Uh-huh," She answered, "It's what family's for, protecting those you love." She grinned at him, "Whether they want or appreciate it or not."
She blinked in surprise and glanced around, indeed recognizing the area, "Of course!" She replied, laughing, "We were on our way to go play in that ravine, weren't we? And you kept thinking that fillies weren't as good as colts and how trouble was so much fun and getting people angry was too..." She chuckled, "How's that working for you now?"

Kiefer smiled "Well, he probubly cares more then you know. Some just don't want to show it" he said, wondering if his own father was so protective when he was young of his sisters.
"Not too well!" he said with a laugh, remembering the time that he had acted up in front of his father and grandmother. Grandma found it cute....father...didn't.
"Shall we go look at it again?" he began to reminise about the day as well. Seemed so long ago that he was a juvinile, little, rambunctious colt. He wasn't as different as he thought he was.
Kiefer ducked under the trees, not waiting for a reply. They scraped against his sisters and hooves. This path was probubly only followed by foals, why would adults ever go back here, anyway?

Azariel shook her head, remaining silent, unsure of what to say. She knew her father loved her and he showed it readily, he just...was in pain. She didn't like to see anyone in pain, especially her father.
She laughed merrily at his response, "Of course not, no one really likes that sort of attitude, do they? DId you find that out the hard way, or the easy way?" A giggle followed it. Either way, Kiefer had gotten a good lesson.
Ears flicked forward, "Of course," She replied, laughing, "We can see if that place is still as fun as it used to be, and I can still beat you at going down the ravine." A playful look flashed toward him and she trotted forward, ignoring anything that tried to stop her, a few minor cuts and scraps were of little consequence.

"The hard way, of course" he called out, knowing full well that even if he had learned a lesson, nothing like that would ever stick with him.
"And there is no way you can beat me down still!" he added, suddenly feeling like a colt aging. He was doing the same thing...only he was a bit bigger, so what was the difference? He smiled. No, things would always be different.
He burst into the small clearing before the ravine. It looked so....
small.
The ravine that he once thought was so large seemed minature. It was a few good bounds down, not wholely small, but certainly a shrunken version of what he remembered it to be. It made him feel unsettled for a moment, like someone had come and smashed his good memories.
"Not exactly as I expected" he said, still in a bit of shock of how much the place had changed.

Azariel simply laughed, would there have been any other way to teach the boy? Probably not.
A snort, "Ha! We'll see then!" She pounded after him and skidded to a halt next to him, first glancing at him before turning her attention to what he was looking at. "...Oh..." She stared at the ravine and how small it had become.
Had it really been that long? Had it been that long since they'd been here? Long enough that something that had seemed so huge in the past, was now not even close to that size? This was definitely a blow to the illusion that time might not have passed here.
"It isn't, is it? But then again," She sighed mournfully, "Nothing is after we grow up."

Kiefer frowned "That's true" he said mornfully, wanting to get the fleeting feeling of being a colt back. He moved over to the edve of the ravine, kicking a rock down. It didn't seem as steep, either. He wondered if he could just walk down it now. Naw, he was bigger, and the weight of his body would probubly make him fall again, anyway.
For a moment he was silent, wondering what they were to do now. He had thought they might try to go down again, for old times sake, but it seemed like that would just make him feel nostalgic.
"What shall we do now, then?" he voiced his thoughts to her. It was a stupid idea, anyway. He felt just like an overgrown colt, wanting to do things that he shouldn't be doing, things he was far to old for.

Azariel followed Kiefer slowly, taking a place beside him to pear down into the small crevice herself. "It is...rather small." She said finally, altogether dejected with the entire thought. She wanted to avoid those truths, that she had grown up and in some small way, this ravine had been a part of that. Now that it was clearly different from what she had remembered...she wasn't sure what to do.
"We...we could go down one more time?" She suggested, looking up at him with a faint smile, "You know, for that stupid saying "for old times sake"."

He grinned, same old Azariel. "Sure, of course. Maybe eve nthough it seems so much smaller, it will still be as fun" he said, looking down at it, wondering ifthe way down would last more then a few seconds. His memories told him it should take a long time, his eyes said otherwise.
The stallion walk, then ran forward with out hesitation, almost immedietly loosing his footing on the loose soil and semi-steep angle. First he just slid, then he was on his side, tumbling downwards. The rocks hurt more then he remembered, and it wasn't quite as entertaining as it had been, as if the magic had somehow been lost.
In just secounds he found himself skidding to a stop on the bottom. He opened his eyes, they had closed because of all the dust flying, and looked around for his friend.

Azariel merely smiled at her friend for a few moments. "We can hope so, can't we?" She asked softly, glancing back down at the small ravine. She missed how it had once seemed so huge and now so small. Growing older really did suck.
She blinked in surprise for a moment as he felt Keifer rush forward and immediately charged after him, more out of instinct than actual decision. She followed him down, her own body, skidding and scratching, at leat until her leg skidded against a nasty rock. Cutting into her until she bled.
"Ah...!" She hissed as she reached the bottom, her back leg instantly lifting to put the weight off of it. "Son of a--!" That hurt and it hurt a lot. Several curses pulsed in her mind in time to her pain. Dammit.

Kiefer scrambled to his feet as he saw the dark red blood dripping from his friend's white leg. He wasn't a medical expert, in fact, his poilicy was usually 'walk it off' or 'just ignore it', but he had never gotten a cut as big as that one, even if it wasn't HUGE.
"Umm...should we..." he tried to think, unsure if it was something that needed to be...treated? "Do something...or just let it go?" he asked, stopping a foot or so away from here, looking at the cut. "I heard once that we should visit a two legger, or a unicorn..." he suddenly remembered that he had gotten a cut that bad before. He looked down at the vauge scar on his shoulder from the fight he had gotten in as a colt.
"It might scar..." he said, not knowing if she cared. He never cared much about his scar, he had grown into it almost, and now it was small, and just a little indent that the hair mostly covered up. Being such a strong mare, she might not even be bothered by it...

Azariel raised an eyebrow at him and gave a half-chuckle-half-snort, "I'll be fine," She glanced at it, not wanting to reveal that it really hurt, but not wanting to be stupid and not examine it.
Bah. She'd seen worse.
Maybe not on her leg. Crap. Did this mean she'd have a limp for good?
She shrugged unconcernedly, pretending it wasn't as bad as it was. She had too much pride to let herself be looked after by anyone, especially a friend. "I'm not sure..." She looked at it again, silently squashing the nausea that seemed to come up as she looked at the wound.
"Scar?" Ahhhh, she loved that word. She liked scars, personally, though she would never go and purposefully do it. Scars meant that you had been through something and survived. Tey were badges of honor and nothing to be ashamed of.
"I'll be fine. I should head home and see my two-legger to make sure, but I don't want to miss the fun time we were going to have." She sighed softly. Damn age.

Kiefer smiled a bit. Ah, she was going to be OK. He knew she was tough, or at least good at pretending. And really that was all that mattered, right? If you could shrug it off, it probubly wasn't a problum.
"Yea...it is too bad...but who said we can't have fun on the way to your two legger?" he asked, trying to think how much fun it would be to walk to a two legger with an injured mare. Probubly not very, accually.
"I ought to go with you, though, because I wouldn't want to get hurt or anything" he said, feeling like her older brother. He remembered when she said she wished she had someone like that. He could be her older brother. Nothing more of course, but he knew her so well, he did feel a bit like she was his sister.
