Daze sighed impressively (he had been practicing for just such a moment) and followed after the little filly distractedly. It was a good thing his legs were longer or he might loose sight of her.
But how could a wolf pull her out anyway? The dynamics boggled the mind, and since he wasn't fond of boggling in the least bit he figured that if it didn't work he'd be sure to help her out. Or go get someone else to do it. Kinda depended didn't it?
Barely managing to duck under a low-hanging branch, he noted that it was rather dark in the woods, and they weren't really good places. Last time he'd spent any time deeper in the cage of trees he'd ended up lost. Of course, that was really Makai's fault, but whatever. This time he thought he knew where he was. Mostly.

Akila wasn't the least bit worried about getting lost. Whenever she did, Mai usually slipped out of the shadows to show her the way to a more familiar area. So she felt free to weave around trees and leap bushes, striped tail waving happily about in the air. "Come ooooon, keep up!" She wasn't really worried about losing Daze either, but he was being kind of slow. Were all grownups this slow? She worried a little about that, because that might mean that she'd get slow too. And she liked being fast!

Daze only cared about being quick when he was racing, or trying to get out of trouble, and since at the moment he was more following and getting IN to trouble it served to reason that he was taking his sweet time.
"With all the noise you're making a blind horse would be able to follow you close enough to keep up," he shot back, highstepping a fallen log carefully. It'd do the world no good if he broke an ankle, he was much too important for that.
"I don't suppose you've got somethin' you're hoping to acheive from this? Finding something, or having some adventure? Because I fear my big, awesome adult body's gonna get stuck between these trees if we keep going this way."

"So?" Akila blinked as she turned her head to look back, puzzled by what seemed like a rather sudden change of topic. "You're making even more noise, 'cause you're bigger. And if you wanted to pick where we went, wouldn't you be in front?" She tilted her head, wondering why he didn't understand what made perfect sense to her.

Daze snorted. He wasn't making barely any noise at all, he knew it. Afterall, he was pretty slick, practiced in the ways of the silent hunter and such. Or so he thought.
"I don't care where we go, as long as we're going somewhere," he said, exhasperated.
He would never admit to being over the whole adventuring thing, it would lead to someone ending up under the false impression that he had matured, but he definitely grew bored more easily. Afterall, he was running out of new and interesting things to do.

"We are going somewhere," Akila explained with what was, to her, extraordinary patience. "We're not where we were, and we're going somewhere we haven't been. See? I just said somewhere, so we're going somewhere. Even if it's somewhere we've been, it's still a somewhere. So we're going somewhere." Tossing her head with a snort, she hared off through the trees at a full gallop.

(Argggg, I am a badbadbad person ;_;. Perhaps we should rap this up in the next couple posts so I don't delay you any further. *IS A BAD PERSON*)
"Eh?"
Daze couldn't follow that kind of logic at all, not to mention that he'd ended up tangled in a vine-type thing, and had to shake it off while trying not to lose sight of the little one ahead of him. He wasn't good at multi-tasking though, so he pretty much just stumbled around until the plant let go. It worked at least.
"Oi, wait!" he added as he freed himself, spotting the filly running off, nearly disappearing behind the trees and underbrush. With a snort of annouance he sort of skipped after her, attempting to look both ahead of him and down at the same time, jumping over branches and trying not to run head-first into a tree. He didn't need a broken ankle or a concussion, however it looked like one or the other was desitned if he kept up after her.
"Akila! You're gonna get lost!" he reiterrated again. It was more likely he was going to get lost, of course, if he wasn't able to find her. Unlike her he had no fail safe, and if he went missing it might take his dumb human a good long while to come get him.

Akila heaved a rather impressive sigh of her own, ears flicking back and forth as she circled back around to Daze at a trot. "I don't have to worry about getting lost," she explained rather patiently...right before tripping over a root and plowing onto her face with a grunt.
