Kegan blushed as he felt the weight of the hand rest on his. He glanced down at her hand and was almost surprised to see how much smaller it was compared to his. He wondered if that bothered her at all, because he was so different than other waywards. the thought was quickly erased as the warmth of Ismene's hand started to sink into his, he suddenly found himself overwhelmed with one question and couldn't hold it back. "Ismene, can I ask you something?" he said as he stared into her azure eyes still blushing even more than before.

Her striped ears perked up a little bit and she looked over to him curiously, her eyes asking him innocently, curiously, what it was he wanted to ask her. There was also... a hopeful glint there and her tail wagged behind her a bit expectantly. Her hand tightened a bit to hold his gently as she waited.

Kegan's heart pound if he didnt do this fast enough he was afraid of his heart bursting through his ribcage. He leaned closer to Ismene and stared in her eyes. "Have I ever told you that you are beautiful?" he said in the smoothest voice he could to try and hide how nervous he was.

Her blue eyes widened as she stared at him in surprise, before she slowly lowered her head to hide her blush of embarrassment. No one had ever bothered to call her that before... Just as slowly, she raised her head to look at him, smiling faintly. She reached for her pen and pad of paper, bringing it closer so she could scribble something down briefly, and edging it to him when she finished.
'No. You, nor anyone else, has said I'm beautiful. Thank you.'

Kegan laughed a little because of his nervousness, "That's surprising, I'd figured that everyone had told you that, I mean your beauty surpasses most of the Waywards I've seen." He said without realising it. giving her a smile he took one of her hands into his and looked her in the eyes hoping she couldn't see him blush. Being with her Kegan was calm and didn't get fired up at anything, she was perfect in his eyes and he hoped he could stay with her for a long time.

A blush lit her own face at his words as she held his hand gently. She opened her mouth a moment to say something, forgetting for just that split second she couldn't speak, and when nothing came out, she closed her mouth and looked away sheepishly, embarrassed.

Kegan grinned, "It's ok, you dont have to say a word," he leaned in close to her ear and spoke softly. "I love you." His crimson eyes held the feeling as he spoke.

A smile broke out across her face as she gently wrapped her arms around his neck and hugged him close, not able to respond with the customary 'I love you too.' All she could do was hug him... Or kiss him, but that wold probably be a little awkward.

Kegan smiled and wrapped his arms around her, he felt like lifting her up and just flying away with her. though that might prove a little scary as he has never flown with someone else before. For now just the hug was enough to satisfy him.
"Perhaps we should head inside, it's getting dark." He whispered almost reluctant to break the moment.

She silently sighed before nodding, gently pulling back from the bat wayward to look him in the eye with a gentle smile. She looked away only long enough to gather up her reading material and her notebook before looking back to him and smiling, going to stand up and wait for him to stand as well.
