The trip was short, just as expected, and now...
Here they stood, at the entrance of the tunnel, Suzaku dwarfed slightly by the bush hiding the mountain gateway.
Suzaku looked at the others, Seneca, Whisper, Helaku, Kouji, and not a single unfriendly feeling shared between them!
A swell of excitement, and in she delved, into the darkness.
She could recall the first time traveling through this path, the uncertainty, then the curiosity and realization at the sight of the light at the end of the tunnel. Suzaku's memories had only restored partially, but she too could relate to the excitement of having a place to call their own. Lands that they could enjoy as home.
Kouji looked about. They couldn't see anything, but he was curious. Would their eyes ever adjust to the darkness?
He smiled as Whisper ran alongside him. He didn't say anything, but his excitement was conveyed by the gleam in his eyes, which were amongst the only things visible in the dark.

Helaku continued on, following his siter through the darkness and completely trusting her. Why should he? Both had been here before and so they knew what lay ahead of them, waiting to become a home to so many loving wolves.
The excitement took over his body as he sped up to run side by side with Suza instead of just trailing a little bit behind. He knew they were soon to be home, and couldn't help but wag his tail as he yipped in excitement.
"Almost there!" It was mostly to himself, but was also audible to the others if they wished to hear it.
Whisper, just like Laku, had followed the phoenix into the darkness. She had also been through here before and was even more excited now that she knew that they were drawing closer and closer.
The yellow's words reached her ears and she couldn't help but smile and even howl in her merriment as she also noticed the excited gleam in Kouji's eyes. Home was just within reach..

Suza's jaw fell open in a wide wolven grin, tongue flying like a banner from the right side of her mouth.
"Almost there!"
"I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!" Came Kouji's excited bark, Whisper's howl being contagious.
Suzaku and Helaku were the first to explode from the cave entrance, Seneca close on their heels. Suzaku immediately reared her head back and gave the loudest howl of her life, feeling a surge of happiness. She even went as far as to bound in a half circle as her howl died down quickly. "Home! We're home!"
Seneca was seeing the lands for the first time, the now grown phoenix wondered how she'd like the territory that they had selected.

Helaku couldn't believe the beauty of the land as they were freed from the cave's dark grasp and revealed to their new home. He had seen it again, but for some reason it seemed even better than it did before.. maybe it was because now he was with his friends, his pack, his family.
His tail was running a mile a minute as he glanced over to Suza. She seemed so happy right now, he couldn't have asked for a better fate.
As he looked over at his sister, her howl was also contagious, making him throw back his head and join in.
Whisper, once they were exposed to their new home, couldn't help but lick at Kouji's cheeks in excitement. This was their new home.. a place the group of friends would share with each other for the rest of their lives.
A place where future pups would romp and play and be safe in. She couldn't believe she was actually joining another pack. It was enough to make her throw back her head as well and join in the celebration howl.

Two more voices joined in, Seneca's and Kouji's, just moments after Kouji returned Whisper's excitement with a few excited nips.
By the time that the howling died down, Suzaku's chest was heaving, breath coming hard and fast as she panted. Still, she pounced at Helaku with an ecstatic laugh, pawing at him and taking her own harmless and affectionate bites at his ears.
"Helaku.... we're home..."
Kouji panted also and grinned, tongue lolling. "Let's have another look around then, hm?"
Grinning, eager to find a den just as his friend beside him.

Helaku's voice faded out not long after his sister's. They were finally home.. and that joyous howl could probably be heard for miles around by all of the creatures that already inhabited these wonderful lands. Thankfully none of those creatures were wolves.
This was their place.. their home.
Then, the loving mood continued as Suza pounced him then nipped at his ears. He gave a wolfish laugh as his tongue began to loll out of the side of his mouth. "That's right Suza.. this is our home." He wagged his tail and licked her cheek affectionately, glad to be sharing this place with his first friend and family.
Whisper's howl faded almost as soon, if not before, Suzaku's did. Her tail was still wagging back and forth furiously as she looked out at their new home. She couldn't believe it.. this perfect place was theirs. She couldn't wait to pick out a den for herself.. it would be wonderful living here once everyone came and settled in.
"You have the right idea," she grinned, waiting for Suza and Laku to be done with their little game.
The fiery female had found this place, so the green wolf thought it suitable that she begin the search for her den and for the others to wander out after her in search of their own.

Suzaku whined happily under her brother''s attention. Still continuing with the most content and affectionate sisterly nuzzle possible.
Kouji grinned, looking to the others happily, but particularly Whisper. It wasn''t long before his own pale undersided tail beat the air furiously. They''d need to mark off the entrance, maybe even inside the cave. When the family moment between Suza and Helaku was finally allowed to end she seemed a bit confused by the stares she got.
"What are you guys waiting for? Let''s go find dens to call our own!" She smiled, tail fanning as her jaw fell open again.

Talia and Tsume had heard the howls. They were some distance away, yet, but they had heard. Talia knew what it meant, the pack was gathering, especially since she could hear her brother amongst the voices.
Her eyes gleamed, looking to Tsume calmly, but not hiding the mirth in her eyes. She hadn't seen the lands before and found herself rather curious. They'd still need to talk about what they wanted to do, stay with the pack or wander for land of their own, but for now they had a place to call home. Tatiana was freely wandering the lands at the moment, Talia reassuring Tsume that if she could make it on her own at that age then surely Tatiana was smart enough to stay out of trouble. They left her with some basic instruction just to be safe, and then they parted ways.
"That's Kouji and the others." It sounded like Suzaku's brother might be there, Kouji of course, Whisper, and Suza herself, but no Ronan. That was odd since Talia thought someone mentioned Ronan was going to help lead the pack. They probably decided to let the ranks sort themselves out after all.
The black she-wolf grinned a bit and nibbled on Tsume's ear, then chuckled a bit and brushed her side against his as she headed towards the wafting scent. They'd track the others down, is what they'd do! "Come on!"

Ikkume could feel the restlessness around him all day it seemed. Generally he kept himself a bit isolated from the other wolves in the area, loving the company when he had it but preferring to keep to himself for the most part. To be honest, he had never thought that he'd be this withdrawn, but when he was he felt most comfortable and out of everybody's way. He was still a going to be a member of the pack with Talia and Whisper and everyone else he knew, but they all seemed to be moving forward with their lives so fast and he didn't want to be a burden. They were young and still had their entire adult lives to live, and it felt like he'd already lived his...
Even as he spent his time wandering the lands and occasionally finding a friend to nap with, he always kept tabs on where everyone was. Today he noticed quite a bit of shifting through the animals, and the birds were never at peace. The wind was gusty, and every once in a while Ikku would get a strong breeze which brought nearly every scent in the woods to his nose. On one of those breezes, he caught a very clear howl by his packmates in the near distance. There were new wolves, friends, but ones Ikku had never met. He heard their voices intermingling with those he was familiar with, and their scent rode the breeze beside their howl.
Ikku jogged onto the top of a sparsely forested hill and looked out as best he could, his poor sight giving him little to work from, but at the top of the hill he had much clearer air to pinpoint the scents he was looking for. From there he could decipher in more detail the new wolves, their age and gender. His tail swung slowly out behind him, ears perked forward and tongue unfurled between his lower canines. He could almost taste the excitement! Raising his own maw to the sky, he let loose a long, low howl in a sign of greeting and a note that he was on his way. It dwindled out and he lowered his head close to the ground, looking through the tops of trees, waiting for a moment incase there was an answer to his howl before he set out at a gallop down the hill and through the trees.
((So I've been informed that the pack wasn't quite officially a pack yet >.>;; Sorry XD *editing post a bit*))

New scents.. new sounds.. new opportunities. This was everyone's chance to start new and live a wonderful life. Well, that's how it was to Whisper anyways. As a pup she had left her parents' pack because they had been slaughtered by humans. She ran away to the freelands and began a new life.. but for some reason she didn't do too well as a loner. She never fed herself and became very thin, thus resulting in her slim form that she had at the moment. And now... she had a loving pack again, far away from the horrid humans and the threat that they posed. Now she had a safe home where she could be with her friends and live out the rest of her life peacefully.
Standing there beside her group of friends that she had traveled with to the pack's lands, she took in a deep breath and closed her eyes, enjoying the moment while it lasted. In a minute or two, the omega supposed, they would set off in search of dens to call their own. And when Suza gave the okay for everyone to go pick out a spot, she was about to go when a howl broke through the air. It wasn't one of their own--those in the group--but that of a close friend of the green female. Ikku!! The sandy male that she had come to love as a sort of father was nearby and from his scent was heading their way.
Looking over at Suza and Helaku, she figured they would maybe set off together in search of dens that would maybe be close to each other. She couldn't be sure though. Then she looked at Kouji. Her former mate and now close friend. She wondered if he would search for a den by himself or maybe he wanted to search with her for some time until he found something that suited him. Whisp would have liked to go with him, but Ikkume was close by and she hadn't seen him in so long..
Turning to face the whole group now instead of just look at each individual, she spoke out, "I'm going to meet Ikku.. and I will bring him back here." Then she nodded at them, as if giving them the okay to go out in search of densites. Yet she knew they didn't need her permission.. she was probably the lowest ranking of them all what with her personality and lack of aggression.
So with that the omega shot off from the rest of the group, into the cave and out the other side in less time than she would have expected. Howling to her sandy friend as she came out, the green wolf informed him that she was on her way to greet him.

Ikku caught the response and added a bound to his step. Whisper! He hadn't seen the femme in so long it seemed! When Talia insisted on him joining the pack, she had said Whisp would be one of his packmates and that had beenone of the driving factors. He had always enjoyed the young green wolf's company, and he had never had many opportunities to be with her while they were in the freelands.
Ikkume loped through the woods, large paws pounding the dirt, his quick and knowledgable reflexes sending him over or around obstacles. His nostrils flared to pick up scents in the air that flew past him. He could smell Whisper among her friends, and smiled to himself. She was a lower rank than the rest, which didn't surprise the male. She had been so shy and timid when he'd first met her as a little pup. This was good, now she had a pack to protect her and take care of her, so many wolves she could depend on.
Before long he broke through the thick part of the wood and came to a stop infront of a large wall of rock it seemed. To his side, he felt wind coming out of what seemed to be a bush... Ikku hadn't yet seen the packlands, and so the entrance was a secret to him yet. But the male was quick to solve riddles, and the dank, musty, damp air that came to his nose from that bush told him there was a cave hiding behind it, and Whisper. He trotted towards the bush and pushed it aside to reveal the opening in the rock. Sniffing it carefully, he had to crouch down to push himself through the small mouth. But once he had, the cave opened up large enough for him to stand comfortably. It took a moment for his eyes to adjust, then he could makeout a pinpoint of a light in the distance, and echoes of pawsteps that he could only imagine were Whisper's.

"Ikkume!!" Whisper called, her eyes a little used to the darkness so she could make out his form in front of her. Her tail wagged in the limited light that they had and she was glad to see... er, more like smell.. her sandy friend. It had been so long since they had last talked to each other and just hung out and chatted. For some reason they had never caught each other in the freelands. Well, that didn't matter anymore, they were joining the same pack and would be able to visit each other whenever they wanted.
Thinking that it was useless to just stand there and wag her tail, the femme hopped forward and pawed at the air, hoping to get his shoulder or head.
"I missed you!" she said, kind of softly since she believed that he was right in front of her. Of course she couldn't completely see so the omega wasn't all that sure. Then she turned around and walked forward a little, noticing how her paws sounded really loud in the cave as the sound bounced off of the walls. "Come on, Ikku; I can take you to the others. We were just about to go out in search of dens when I heard your howl."

Ikku grinned when he heard the femme's voice. He felt a rush of air as her paws swiped gently past his face, and reared back slightly, "Careful! Trying to make me more blind than I already am in this darkness?" He said jokingly, then stepped forward and brushed against her, feeling the soft green fur brush against him and nipped at her lovingly. "Dens?" he echoed her thoughtfully, "Well then, I'll allow you to be my guide, Little One," he remembered how she enjoyed him calling her by that nickname, and licked her maw (or atleast what he thought was her maw).

Whisper's tail wagged happily as he said that he would allow her to be his guide. She was delighted that he still called her by 'Little One' even though she was no longer a pup, but a full grown adult. Yet despite her age, she was pretty small for a wolf. No matter, though, she was just glad to see him.
"Alright, this way," she replied cheerfully, finding that new energy was surging through her now that she was reunited with her close friend.
After nipping at him playfully, she smiled a toothy smile then bounded forward, yet was careful not to go too fast lest they lose each other in the darkness. Yet she really had nothing to worry about since they could always smell their way through the cave and meet up outside of it and with the others.

((Oh Lady, sorry I have been gone so long, but my work has been hell this week. We're getting a new manager and out old one is... well, a semi-tyrant right now, trying to get the store in order))
Tsume welcomed Talia's affectionat touches and hurried after her on her prompting. He hadn't told Talia, but he was not so sure how he would fare in a new pack, having found the old one he had been with by pure happen-chance. But he was willing to give it a try.
As he ran alongside his mate, he wondered what the other wolves were like. He had only met her brother, Kouji, and that very briefly.
