MetalMistres[Liss-Dexia] to ease MY pain: i eat bananas...though it might be because i crave them, but i guess it works for my friend too. bananas and oranges. lots of fruit, sleep, pain pills (XD), and tea. Herbal tea and fruity teas. (I am pagan and i have a garden where i get everything to make my tea) It's better to have organic tea than processed. my period means to me: my boyfriend getting me flowers, extra sleep, skipping school (XD), lots of hugs and back rubs, oh, getting my lower back rubbed and massaged helps ease the pain more than heat, and my period also means about 4 days in hell. xoxo `lissie My coach once told me bananas are good to prevent muscle cramps (during sports) so I could see it helping menstral cramps too.

I throw up on the first day and I bloat to horribly abnormal proportions. After that I cramp to about 3 days after the start and I'm horribly tired >>
I never go to school on the first day, if that happens to be a school day of course, simply because you aren't allowed to stay at school if you're ill. Hot showers, two bottles of painkillers, and a heating pad are my best friends.
I think I have hormonal issues. D:

2 aleeves in the morning which does wonders, if you take it when you first get up by the time im in my classes im feeling fine. also wearing heels has been known to make the bloaty feeling go away (though its probally more of a 'i feel sexy im in stilettos ' kind of thing lol)
granted i have the unknown stomach disease of doom so it could be my useless prescription thats reducing the monthly cramps rather then the aleeves...hmm
this is a pretty super fantastic topic, i had to post something xd

Mine is just HORRIBLE. And of course, the second day is always the worst. Absolutely horrible... I get cranky, I have cravings, but of course the worst thing is the cramping... Ugh. I take painkillers, but they DON'T WORK FAST ENOUGH. So far I've only managed to pass out twice because of them, which sucks even more a** because none of the doctors I've seen can agree on a reason. When they took me to the hospital the first time, the doctor there said cramps can do that, but then none of my other doctors agree... Whatever... Cramps suck.
I take whatever painkiller I have on hand. I'd like to do something to make them lighter or something, and I'm REALLY apprehensive about stuff that says "may increase risk of blood clots, ect." 'cause my families medical history SUCKS. Painkillers, lots of sitting in a fetal position *it works sometimes*, lots of insanely long hot baths and showers. The worst part is usually done the first three days.
EDIT: Overactive vagas nerve. Something like that. Feel pain, pass out.

Bananas help because of their potassium. Muscles cramp due to not having enough potassium to depolarize and return to resting position, so anything high in potassium like bananas should work. (: Periods aren't really that bad for me... I've never had menstrual cramps or heavy mood swings, and I actually have more cravings while not on my period than while on it. x3;; The crappy thing about mine is that they're so irregular that I can't predict them. I've had my period for years, and the schedule just never evened out. So I'm constantly scared for my clothes and I've ruined dozens of panties. ): Luckily, it normally doesn't get heavy until a day or two into it, so panties are usually the only clothes I soil. xP
I'm on my third period for April. x3; I was in the middle of one at the beginning, had about two weeks between the start of the first one and the start of the second, then started this one a couple days ago. It's nuts. NUTS I TELL YOU NUUUUTTTTSS... x3;; But I'm glad I don't get PMS. >P *hugs all those who do*

My period is awful. It only lasts about three days, but the pains are terrible. I never wear lolita clothes when I have my period. I would be terrified.

I hate my period too, but I prefer not to take any pills for the pain, I just try to deal with it as best I can. I also notice that about a week before and during my period I have SUPER wild mood swings. As soon as my period is over I go to all my friends and family members I pissed off and apologize to them. Also, to relieve cramps, stretching in the morning does wonders! Trust me. mrgreen

Mine aren't bad, the only change I have to make is that I am FORCED to wear pads, so I can't wear bloomers for a week or so every month. I get stuck with plain ole undies 3

Ugh!I hate my period. I get craps the first day I get mine and then I have urges to do a lot of active things like ride bikes and jump around randomly. It hurts to sit when I have cramps. Good think I usually only get them once during my period. I think I got mine..two years ago? Almost three now. So I was like..11 or 12? Hm..
I also crave chocolate. Like.. I can't eat a full hershy's bar without feeling sick, but I can when I'm on my rag...o_o
And I get really bitchy, especially in the morning. But, I usually am anyway. My moms side of the family is prone to problems with cycts and stuff, but I'm a lot like my dad with the bad lungs and heavy set figure, so I dunno if I'll have any problems with that sorta thing. [My mom had a hysterectomy and a few cysts. My best friend had a cyst on her ovary. Small, but it exploded during school..o_o]
So, to sum it all up. IT SUCKS. I refrain from wearing nice clothing that whole week, since I might ruin it. Yannoo..accidents and stuff...

I always dread coming on my period since I always get terrible stomach cramps and my mood swings are hell. Not to mention I bloat so I can only wear baggy and loose clothes so I look terrible.
