Hehe. I am not sure what my mom would do when she found out. I was planning to tell her on my 18th birthday when she wouldn't make me go to church anymore. But now I am not so sure. My plan now is to tell her that I am interested in other religions and then I go to the library and search up stuff like Buddhism and other religions and then incorporate parts of that into my own religion. Then when I tell her, it will be easier for her to be accepting of other religions since I researched so many. I think it would probably soften the blow when she finds out I do not want to be Catholic. She is not a die hard Catholic but she is still very spiritual. Also, when I was young, we were watching a TV show and these girls at camp were making a spell to curse someone and she told me to never be a witch or do stuff like that. So she does have the stereotypical teen witch in her head.

I hate those stereotypes. What people don't realize is that magic makes life so much easier. Ex. Headaches: I just make my blood flow in my head. I always feel better. And if I've lost something, I send out an orb that is attracted to that specific thing.

I hate it how people think it's funny. They only find it funny because they don't fully understand it. One of the guys at work found out that I was Wiccan and now he makes jokes about me doing skyclad moonlit dances. Well he use to anyway unless it starting getting on my nerves and I yelled at him. He wasn't doing it to be mean though or to hurt me or anything like that... that's just his personality. He loves to make jokes.

And then another guy at work knows I'm Wiccan, but he's fine with it because his mom is Wiccan. But for whatever reason, I don't remember why, we were back in the kitchen and he yells "you're the one who said you're a witch"... that was slightly awkward. I wasn't embarassed, I just don't want everyone knowing that, especially my coworkers. Nobody really payed any attention to it though.

And then one girl says something about Satanists worshipping Satan and I told her that they don't worship Satan and then we got on the topic of Pagans and so another guy who didn't know I was Wiccan says "Pagans are all idiots". And then when I ask him why he contradicts himself by telling me that they're not really idiots if I am a Pagan.

But my best friend is Wiccan (which I was so excited by when I found out)and my boyfriend and my other best friend is perfectly fine with me being Wiccan, and those are really the only people whose opinions really matter to me.

I guess when I get into the work world that it will be different and I'll want to hide, but I'm constantly wearing my pentacles to school. I also have a free flowing school in which half of the students are something other than Christian. *goes to an art school of 168 students*

Wow. I would have been freaking out about the spell books then questioning her why she screamed in the first place.

Around work, I am very sure I would want to hide it. My mom wants me to go to college at this small town. I think I would like the classes ok because they would be small with lots of help from teachers. But I am worried that if word got out then the whole town would not like me and my mom would hear the rumors because she works part time down the street from the college. I am debating whether to go there because of the small town.

Lunaki3

How can you hide who you are? I mean, I understand your reasons behind it, but why would you want to live a lie? Why do people care so much what other people think about them?

You don't have to hide it from people, just don't make it so pain stackingly obvious and only tell those people that you trust. If people can't like you for who you are, that's their loss, not yours. Your mom will love no matter what. She might not approve of it and she might not like it, but regardless, she will still love you because you are her daughter.

Don't be afraid of who you are. Be proud and make people realize that you are not a bad person and that your religion is not what they've been taught it is. Share your religion with others so that they can become aware. Pagan religions wouldn't be here today if everyone just sat back in fear and hid who they truly were.

I would not hide it from my friends. If I told everyone at work then they would always feel uneasy around me. Even if they knew the truth they would think of me differently. I also do not want to put my job on the line. I wouldnt try to do everything to hide it, I would just try to avoid talking about it.

If someone confronted me and asked me if I was pagan I could not deny it. Even if someone asked me what I believed then I would tell them. I can not deny what I believe to anyone.

I have always liked my mom to be proud of me for what I do. I will tell her that I am interested in other religions in a couple of months when she stops making me go to church. I just dont want to tell my mom because she will not be happy with me and she will try to change my mind. She even might feel uneasy around me too. I dont want to mess up the relationship that my mom and I have. We are not extremely close, but we are kind of close.

I told my best friend a couple years ago and when I was going to tell her about my halloween she got mad and did not want to listen. I was not even going to tell her what I did religion-wise. I was going to tell her about the gaia event but since halloween is stereotypical, she did not want to know what I did. I know that she is very uneasy when we talk about religion so I do not bring it up.

I will tell anyone about Paganism if I know they can handle it. I have told a few people that I thought I could trust but it turned out I couldnt. There are bad rumors running around the school because of it. I get made fun of because people think I am crazy and because of the rumors that say I am evil.

Yeah, but they can make your life a living hell. They can give you all the bad projects to work on and stuff. When I get a job, I plan to avoid every religious question with "religion and work should not be mixed unless you're a priest"....of any kind ;p
