R2 should not be a killer!

I think 3 was the best in terms of story, moviemaking in general, etc. It also had sweet fight scenes. I will, though, forever believe that Mr. Christensen is an irredemably bad actor. You know what I read the other day? The monotony of his voice was intentional. He wanted to sound like Vader in episode 4. I was surprised.

I love episode 1 to death, but mostly because of Darth Maul and the lightsaber fight scene. Jake Lloyd was okay, but Jar Jar was dismal and I totally agree that having old-style effects, or using special effects only for certain things like the space battles, would have made it so much more realistic looking, which was part of the appeal of the old ones. Lucas and ILM did things with the primitive effects that still look good.

Two was leaden. I very rarely rewatch that one because of the romance and the acting.

From what I understand, Hayden was a great actor in the other projects he did; he just sucked in Star Wars. From what you said, that was apparently an intentional suck. O_O Weird.

They all have their places in the metaverse of Star Wars.
That said, I much prefered Revenge for the story, but Clones for the action especially with Yoda taking on Dooku.

Sorry, but Yoda is the Man! err... what the hell is Yoda? mrgreen

G'd question! xd

I don't think they ever gave out what Yoda's race is, though some speculation suggests that he's a Whill. You know how Ep 4's novelization begins with the Journal of the Whills? Some think that those are Yoda's people.

Well supposedly, Lucas has said that Yoda is not a Whill but will not give away what his race is...

How's that for ambiguous!

Ok, here are my thoughts:
The Phantom Menace: light-hearted, fun to watch (like a new hope), and actually not that bad once u get past Jar-Jar's antics.

Attack of the Clones: this one has some of my favorite characters in it. i love that obi-wan has his moment in the spotlight here, and i also like the feel of the movie. Count Dooku and Jango fett are frickin' awesome! i would say i loved the movie if it wasn't for the corny love scenes. gonk burning_eyes but....funny thing is, when AotC was playing on tv once....THEY CUT OUT THE CHEESY FIREPLACE SCENE!!!! rofl that was awesome!

Revenge of the Sith: the best of the prequel trilogy. its so much more interesting and dark and sad. i actually cried the first time i saw it (3:00 am, Cinerama!) when all the jedi were getting killed crying i loved a lot of those jedi....plo koon, ki-adi mundi, mace windu.....my only one disappointment with the movie is the scene when anakin fights count dooku aboard the Invisible Hand. i checked out the video game once, and in the cut scene, they both ignite their lightsabers, and cross them in front of Palpatine....EXACTLY LIKE VADER AND LUKE IN RETURN OF THE JEDI!!! now, i dont know why lucas didn't put that in the movie, but it would have fit soooo perfectly! gonk stressed

but anyway.....those are my thoughts! ninja

That would have been groovy! eek

For me, RotS was the movie that folks have waited 20+ years to see. ^^

The other two weren't too shabby, and were naturally subject to much criticism, both good and bad.

Phantom Menace served as an introduction to Anakin, and the meeting of himself and Padme. It also revealed the true reason as to why Obi Wan trained Anakin.

Clones pulled back and finally showed us what the heck they were talking about when Obi Wan mentioned the Clone Wars way back when, not to mention the numerous references in the extended universe. At the end, you're left saying "WOW! So *that* is the Clone Wars!!" It also did a pretty good job of foreshadowing Anakin's eventual fate. Though yes, I could have done without the hokey Anakin/Padme scenes.

Revenge. Ah! Now, there is the film that wrapped it all up and brought it home. It showed the fall of Anakin, as well as the reason why. It paints Anakin/Vader as a much more sympathetic character, and shows us all that he was a person like any other with his own hopes, dreams and fears. It also showed what a true son of a b***h Palpatine is, and how he twisted things around to make the Jedi look the bad guys.

And, then, we have the infamous "NOOOoooo!!!" scene. It is when Vader finally realizes that he was played by Palpatine and lost all. ;_;

After that, we see the funeral of Padme, as well as Luke and Leia, in what, to me, is the most powerful ending I've ever seen. Did anyone else get misty-eyed on seeing Obi Wan bring baby Luke to Beru and Owen?

I don't think Vader ever really realized he was played by the Emporer! The problem with him realizing that would be that he should be able to get away from Palpatine pretty easily.

You're right, my bad. ^_^;;

I probably should have worded that better, as it never hits Vader that he got "played" until the near end of RotJ.
