Intro to Gaia
New home, new dreams...

Third Time's the Charm Prolouge

The angel-like man stared in awe as the new scenery the welcoming workers lovingly called “Gaia” unfolded before him. He nearly stepped on the foot of a nearly nude person with a deep-green complexion. Ghast heaved a sigh as he unleashed his wings before kicking himself off of the ground, flying away from the busy walkway to the trains that took many people back and forth. As the man looked over the new scenery, he smiled at the luscious forest that he had scarcely seen on the now barren country. He thought of the new life he could earn among the Gaians, but finding a new home was his first priority. Ghast landed on an open field, his smile broadening as he pictured a new sanctuary for people like him. The man picked up a small stick, marking the place with a large circle so he would recognize it in the skies. The man then leaned up against a tree near the lot as the sun began to set. “Two days, huh?” He mused, lowering his eyes as twilight began to cover the land. “…Just one more day to build a home…” He then closed his eyes for sleep, his wings blanketing him.

Day Two
My nerves have not eased...

Well, today was very odd to handle. First, as anyone could imagine, I had to raise money to be able to afford the construction of the new Sanctuary, which I has no clue how to do until I saw a group of Gaians offering some sort of “Bumping” service for someone’s group. I also saw that many of the Gaians with wings didn’t actually know how to fly… So I put two and two together to offer flying lessons for them and “Piggy-back” rides for children. Believe me, the ride was the most embarrassing thing I have done in a long while… It seemed to be very popular, as I had already twice as much as I needed at noon. After I decided to stop giving the lessons and rides, I was forced to keep myself grounded to rest my aching wings to buy some of the things I will need for a while. First, I visited a futuristic city known as Aekea to purchase the supplies for the Sanctuary along with a few workers to help me build. After that, I ventured back to where I’m staying- a cozy small town known as Barton- to the Barton Boutique. When I walked in, I stumbled across the biggest shocker since Dia had told me about my expected son- a talking cat named Rufus. I also met a priestess from Japan named Shinju who is kind enough to let me stay in her home for the next few days as the Sanctuary is built. Shinju also wants to see the Sanctuary built, and is offering her services for it. I’ve also told her about Kiemna, and she seems curious.

… Tonight is the night I’m supposed to receive him.
Dia had told me that I would have to find him while I dream, so Shinju is trying to make sure that I sleep as long and as easily as possible.
I just hope eight hours is enough.

It's a Deity! Aftermath

A New Home!
The deity's curiousity shows no mercy on the winged one...

Ghast heaed a sigh as he placed the large blade on the counter after a few days of leaving it in the guest room, smiling as he watched the playful Kiemna with a homemade toy the man had put together. It had only been a few days since Kiemna was born, but Ghast already felt a strong bond with the rebirthed deity.
"Ghast!" Shinju yealled, rushing into the room, a broad smile plastered on. "They finished!" She took in a breath, her wrinkled face drooping as her smile vanished to take in air- the grin instantly going back when she finished. "They finished the Sanctuary!"
"Wha-?" He managed to say before his foot slipped under a small puddle on the floor. Ghast's hand still on the sheath of the blade, he brought it down with him.
"Ah! You okay?" Shinju asked, offering the young man a hand. Before either of the two had the time to notice or act, Kiemna had already made his way to where the large blade had been laid. The baby hugged the sheath, a small word unconciously passing his lips.
"Di!"
Ghast stared at the boy in shock. Could he somewhat remember his friend from his previous life?
"Di! Di!"
Shinju, however, managed to put the sword away, which made Kiemna start to sniffle.
"Di! Di! Di! Di!" He managed to gasp out through silent sobs.
The winged man picked the child up, somehow managed to calm him down using soft 'Coos'.
"That's good that the sanctuary's finished." Ghast murmered softly to Shinju as Kiemna's eyelids fluttered. "He'll be able to see the blade, but not touch it until he's older..."

A Little Reminder
A small visit awakens and confirms one of Ghast's fears...

Ghast sat wide-eyed as he searched the newly built and furnished sanctuary, beaming at the new, happy life that fell to him.

Which would soon be interrupted.

Was that... The rotting smell of a Raeme? The winged man turned his head to someone he once knew. Long ears, two thick strands of golden hair with the rest long and brown, teal markings covering the face from the nose, eccentric covering of the body with long clothes and military boots- he recognized the young woman instantly. “S-Stelf?” He muttered, his eyes wide in astonishment. “What are you-?”
“No time for small things.” Stelfie snapped, giving Ghast a strict glare with her dark blue eyes. “I thought you took care of the Being?”

The Being... Was alive?

“What?” Ghast blinked at his friend.
“He attacked... Your brother.” Stelfie managed to say before looking away from the man.
The winged man finally snapped, his eyes full of horror and rage as he grabbed Stelfie by the shoulders. “Where is he?! I’ll kill him with my own-!!!”

Kiemna, tears in his eyes and a small toy in his hand, stared at the two drowsily, rubbing his eyes with his free hand. “Urrwugh?” He mumbled in gibberish. Ghast looked at the deity like he had been caught with his hands in the cookie jar. He rushed to the boy, picking him up and into his room behind a large statue of a coat of arms. Stelfie wisely followed, reaching him when he exited.
“I don’t know where he is. And I don’t recommend following him when you have that child with you.” She said, her hand on his shoulder.

“But then he might come here!” Ghast replied, the same fury in his eyes as before.

“Just fight him then.” the Raeme said, and then she had vanished.

The winged man looked horrified after Stelfie had left, a lurking feeling of being hunted following him. He walked back into his room, sat on his bed, and cried.

The Meaning of Christmas
Kiemna finds strength in his sword...

The morning was a day of holiday and celebration- at least for Shinju.
Ghast stared as the old woman gave her ceremony, the words she spoke barely slipping by him as he almost nodded off into sleep. He was awakened by a sharp elbow to the ribs.
“Wake up, son, she’s almost finished!” One of the avid church-going ladies hissed to the man as she gave him a fake grin. “It’s the Christmas season, after all!”
“Christmas?” He blinked, giving the woman an odd stare. “What’s that?”
“Oh, Lord!” She whispered into the sky, grappling Ghast’s jacket with a bony hand. “He’s got Amnesia!” The lady then began to mutter in an odd language- much like Lucy did when he fought Herrol, but the woman produced no spell.
“Uhh…” He instinctively shifted in his seat, staring at Shinju with eyes that told her to hurry up.

Shinju took Ghast’s eyes in mind. “Well… Merry Christmas, everyone! Let us pray…”

-

“Shinju…” the man spoke, walking to the woman after she had finished her sermon. “What’s a ‘Christmas’? Some sort of ritual that causes people’s spells to go void?” He remembered the other woman’s chanting, hoping that that was not the case.

“What? You don’t know what Christmas is?” She gave Ghast an odd look.

“Well… I was born before Christianity was formed…” He shrugged.

“Oh, that’s right… Well, Christmas celebrates the birth of God’s son, Jesus… It teaches he meaning of giving, since many people gathered around on his birth and gave him gifts.” The woman explained.

“Oh…” Ghast stared strangely, hoping that it would make since to him in time. Why not just give him gifts like they did back then. “Well, he probably died…” He thought, shrugging again.

“So, where’s Kiemna?”

“Sleeping, he can’t really take these speeches well” The man smiled, going to open the door that lead to the back rooms. As soon as the door was opened, Kiemna, looking grown and different, flung himself out of the room and clinging to Ghast’s leg.

“Nigh’… Nigh’marr…” He managed to gasp out between his heavy breaths. He held his play sword up like a shield, hoping to fend off anything that came to life from his dreams.

“What…?” Ghast bent over to comfort Kiemna, running his fingers through the brown parts of hair. “So he’s turning even more metal-like…” He mused over the boy’s changes, the color changes in his skin and hair striking him as odd. He had also sprouted a good few inches, and now being able to walk and talk. “It’s okay, Kiemna… You’re awake now…”

Kiemna smiled, batting the air with his sword. “Knigh’s never fear!” He repeated over and over again, running and stumbling across the Sanctuary.

So he was a walking, talking, knightly toddler.
Fun.

Look, daddy gave me a book! biggrin He said he'd spell check (whatever that means) for me and everything! Those are some drawings I put on your front page, bookie, since you can't see unless it's in you.

That first one is Dolly. She's a girl and she likes daddy's feathers like I do, so I think she's my friend.

The next one is Kahula, he's a little kid that likes to play with blocks a lot. Blocks are for babies! D<

The next one's me, bookie! I'm gonna be a knight one day!

The first one on the bottom is Dartsmoore. She has big hair and she smells a little.

The next one is Shinju. She stands in front of people and talks to them. I don't really know why yet. She's short and wrinkly.

The last one's Daddy! He's got black wings and he's awesome. Not many people have wings, so I wonder why he has them?
