I'll have to do that, then. Also, perhaps if my summer is not as busy as this semester has been, I could consider attempting to craft a plot for something. One of my problem is lack of current sourcebooks. While I have a wealth of second edition (revised), I only have the PHB for the 3.5 version, which tends to make things quite difficult in terms of understanding current magic items, monsters, status ailments (fatigue in particular, seems ill-explained, as are a couple others), and just various bits of things that are good to be familiar with.

The thing about 3rd edition (and 3.5, for that matter) is that Wizards released the core rules of the d20 system as open-source. The Open Gaming License allows anyone to post and use the d20 core system, especially as it is used in Dungeons and Dragons, as long as it doesn't go into the non-OGL-released sourcebooks.

Many places, such as here, have well-formatted and easy-to-use System Reference Documents, which includes all of the rules and details listed in the d20 system, the three Dungeons and Dragons core books (Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, Monster Manual) as well as a few sourcebooks that have been OGL-approved, including Unearthed Arcana, Epic-level Handbook and Planar Handbook.

It has none of the flavor text and D&D-specific descriptions that the core books have, which is the trade-off, but it is a complete compilation of ALL the rules needed to play any d20 game, especially Dungeons and Dragons. The site I linked above also has a 3rd edition SRD and a d20 Modern SRD that I've used in putting together my current game.

Even if you have all the core books and a bunch of sourcebooks, the SRD is an invaluable tool to use when running and/or playing a game online. I have it open the entire session so I can quickly refer to rules without having to spend time flipping through books, especially since my game is currently AIM-based and people keep typing while I'm looking things up.

The d20 main page has information on the Open Gaming License and links to alternate System Reference Documents.

The people I know if that haven't posted here yet I'll PM about it, and they're names will go in the reserved post. :3 People who HAVE posted here with an interest will also go there, along with a list of campaigns they're already in.

I assume you want your name down?
Please. I'm addicted to RPing, if my second night in our D&D game didn't show you all that.

...is it really that horrible to RP three places at once? stare

I'll give you two, man, but three tends to stretch it because you're important in ours XD

Come on, at that point nobody was important, I could have changed characters and it wouldn't have affected the game at all!

It would NOW, though. Which is why I try not to do anything, though I admit that once in a while, if it's important, I'll RP on the side. Apparently others think I'm important or something, too.

Incidentally, if you'd like details on Kiji's campaign... there are three players and more are welcome. Meeting time is whenever Ally's game isn't running. whee And, by the very nature of it, it's a flexible game. If someone can only show up one night every three months, the character can drop out randomly. It's set in Whitefall around the League of Extraordinary Adventurers. The League itself can have membership that changes from one game to the next rather easily. 3nodding

You know, the more games that are set in Whitefall, the more I feel I should publicly describe my world.

Kiji's would be the third.

Can you make a quick linklist of all of the times you did describe the world in your LJ, Alli? I cannot find them now. @_@;;

I would also like to see it, if you could? I like to know the history of things.

I'd love to do another campaign in the future, could you put me under the willing list, Kyraa?

Will you have time while you're in Japan?

I'd be willing to try something out, I haven't done any good RPing in a while. That said it might be hard to play some nights as I do work nights 3 days a week.

In other news a few friends of mine are getting a campaign going...Thri-keen Monster of Legend Barbarian

yay power gaming! ninja

I'm working on building a dungeon crawler, if anybody wants to sign up for it. I need five to six players. It wont start for a while, I still need to finish all the maps and stuff, but I'll need to know who wants to play to do that.
