I like the idea of doing it on a weekend too. That's the best time for me to spend a considerable amount of time participating online in such an event, and usually at night.
I like the idea of formal wear. It is a party after all. Or could we do the cosplay idea again like we did before?
As for party games, how about book trivia? Perhaps something along the line of questions, between ten and twenty, and whoever gets them all correct will receive a small prize.

if we do the book trivia idea it would have to be on books that everyone has read/knows of well otherwise it wouldn't be fair to some participants. Like... if we had a trivia questions on harry potter or Lord of the rings I am sure there are very few people who would be left out (( if you haven't read harry potter.... wow... I am dearly shocked... not that I particularly liked the book or thaught it was good, it's just one of those kind of books that has to be read or you miss too many good jokes these days )) However if we did a quiz on something less known.... say....The bartimaeus trilogy not as many people would be able to participate past the question " the author of ::insert book title:: is....."

It doesn't have to just be about what is in the books themselves. It can concern the authors and even the creation of the books!

I'd also really like to hold a few raffles for prizes. 3nodding

I don't care what date, but I like the four-day idea because I have real trouble logging into towns on the weekends...it keeps freezing me out.
I've never been in a town party before: I'm too new to Gaia.

Though most people who have posted seem to be in agreement with the Saturday, May 5th through Tuesday, May 8th, the poll shows that more people are interested in the following weekend. I am proposing that we hold it from May 4th (Friday) until May 9th (Wednesday). That should be enough time for everyone to have a chance to take part in the fun.
However, on a slightly different note, I won't be very active until May 7th (due to Final Exams), so I'd like to ask if either of our other moderators would be interested in hosting / supervising a few raffles on the 4-6th.
[Edit: Also, I think we can just be fairly relaxed when it comes to the dress code. I, for one, plan to dress up formally, but I wouldn't want to enforce it or anything like that. Come as you would like to come (but you won't be over-dressed if you dress up wink ).]

I would volunteer to supervise naturally, but I need to be more certain of my plans for that weekend. I might be going on a short trip for that weekend. Or if I don't I should be pretty flexible to oversee all weekend except for Saturday, I think.
I'll let you know when I know more for sure.

Thanks. smile
I'll be around, and I'll stop in for like five or ten minutes at a time, I just won't be able to hang around.
And Olivia, I believe we've decided on Towns.

the towns will be wonderful! On that note I would like to ask fo rthe aria number of the town we will be useing. I personaly wouldn't want to be stuck wondering around the thousands of towns they have there.

In the towns? My computer will be protesting because it is still dial-up and refuses to want to work for me in the towns. Guess I won't be participating in the anniversary event at all then...
