Cail Dorian

PostPosted: Thu Dec 29, 2005 2:26 pm

Taken completely by surprise, Cail rolled against the lobby's floor and flipped himself back up, landing in a crouch with his hands infront of him to stabilize himself.

"Seyumi Kaikou, sworn charge or no, it is extremely dangerous for a person of your status and ability to leave the Temple un-escorted. You are the LAST White Mage for our Temple. Can't you exersize some self preservation?" Cail stood and held his hands out to his sides, letting his words do the fighting for him.

"Don't you understand? Stop pushing away those that would protect you."

"If there was anyone I needed to be protected from, it's you!" She shook her head vigerously and glared at him.

"You obviously don't understand who I am. I'm not that girl you remember; the one you left alone to fend for herself in the Temple." Her eyes settled on his daggers at his sides and softened slightly.

"You, who cared more about his strength as a Paladin then the actual actions of being a Paladin, have no right to lecture me. You are not a True Paladin, Cassiel Dorian." She gazed sadly into his sapphire eyes with a solemn grey gaze.

"You have no right to act like one."

"..."

He had utterly nothing to say to her words. They were true, but there were so many things that he learned during his 5 years of absence that changed his mindset from his young and reckless one, all those years ago.

"True Paladin or not, I'm still oath bound to ensure your safety as a Follower of Falis. To protect you even from yourself." Hanging his head, Cail closed his eyes and inhaled.

...

She left him no choice.

Clenching his hands into fists, Cail charged the White Mage, aiming a sweeping kick at her feet.

'Forgive me Sey.'

"Cail...?" Realizing what he was doing when he dropped towards her and slid with his leg outstretched, Sey slamned her staff onto the floor and braced her barrier, getting sent back by the Paladin's blow into the desk and gasping.

"What are you doing?!" She yelled, summoning 25 spheres of light, blinding the poor secretaries with their radiance, as they hovered around the White Mage's body.

"Stop it!" Sending 13 spheres of light after him as she ran towards the other side of the desk, Sey felt her emotions tear inside her.

This was wrong, so so wrong...

"s**t." He scoffed under his breath as he saw Sey summon the spheres of light. Cail pushed himself off the ground and ran after her, imbuing his gloved fists and feet with Falis' power and punching the spheres as the came close to him, jumping into the air and dispelling 3 of them in a crackle of white lightning.

"It won't work. We're both Falis' scions." Cail said, unshething one of his daggers with his left hand and slashing through 2 spheres.

"We're supposed to be partners. Stop being so freaking difficult!" making his way towards Sey, Cail stopped within 10 steps of her and took to a knee, his vambraced fists bursting into white flames before he slamed his right fist into the floor, the tiles buckling and bursting around him, the entire floor for 20 feet around him cracking and buckling as white flames burst out around him.

"You may have gotten stronger from when I last saw you, but so have I."

"That's it." Infuriated to no end, Sey swung her right hand heavenward and 24 spears of light crowded above Sey's head before she fell over, enveloped in the white flames.

"Oh CAIL!" Sey said as she scrambled back to her feet, jumping back near the elevators and onto solid ground.

"Look out!" Sending all 24 at him, Sey smiled brightly, collecting the remaining 12 spheres of light around her, grinning as the spears shot towards him, positioned to encase him; not spear his guts out. (Darn xp )

"I've been through so much hell you have no idea Cail. I don't need you hanging behind me, holding me back!"

"Heh." Grinning as he saw the spears materialize over her head, Cail stood up, white flames licking about him.

"It won't work Sey, I already told you- Woah." There were 24 of them intead of Yasmine's 12. He had his work cut out for him.

"You wouldn't actually..." The spears sailed for him and Cail jumped from bit of tile to bit of tile, skidding over the destroyed bits when the first 12 spears came down in a wall infront of him. Using his inertia, Cail reared back and charged his right fist with Falis' power and slamed it into the wall of spears, attempting to break his way to the White Mage.

Sey watched him shatter 4 of her 12 spears and curved the remaining 12 down infront of him, baring his way.

"Stop it Cail. Just leave me alone." The 12 remaining spheres of light shot out from behind Sey and darted into the air, shooting down near simultaneously a the trapped Paladin, aiming for his head.

"Just lie down like a good little boy."

Cursing loudly, Cail watched as the other 12 came down mere feet away from him. He was caught between spears of light and a hard place.

He could feel the spheres getting closer and Cail felt the first twinge of panic course through his veins. All the better.

Doing something he had never done before outside of training, Cail grabbed the broadsword sheathed at his back and pulled it free, all 3 feet, 9 inches of blessed steel shining in the light of the attacking spheres.

Yelling, Cail slashed at the spears, growling and shoving Falis' might into the blade and watching white lightning crackle as the sword met spears. After a moment, the spears gave way to his blade and Cail jumped over the sliced spears, yelling as his back was grazed by 3 of the spheres. Raising his sword, Cail swung hard against Sey's shield and white fire licked against the barrier, Falis' might recognizing a White Mage.

Just outside the doors, Rage was heavily considering stepping inside. From what he could see (the glass doors were pretty much blinding him) and sense (a lot of holy magic), Sey and that other guy... what'shisface... Cail, yeah... were duking it out inside. He had heard of domestic disputes, but... damn.

Deciding not to bother with either of them, Rage slinked in through the door (avoiding a few light spheres that crashed into the wall behind him) and hid behind the desk where other terrified secretaries were hunched under. "So, uh... this happen often?"

The secretaries had long since went to hiding under their desks, mashing the security buttons madly. Except for the lone helpful one, she had actually bothered to read the memo. The lobby cannons were being recalibrated this week. Yes next week they would be better than ever, but this week they could do little more than shoot sparks.

She had a plan though. And all it would take was a call to one of her bosses and then to construction.

"Hello, Lester. I need you to manually take over one of the construction HEAVYs."

Lester of course agreed, he was a man of many talents after all. That and he knew he needed to buy time... And a construction robot, dispite not being a battle mod, just may do.

Sey watched as her spheres were rent assunder by the Paladin's lethal dance, her blood humming with Falis' magic with excitement that she had only experienced when watching Stryphe in action.

Cail, however, was no Stryphe. Realizing that he had sliced through her spears, Sey had about 2 seconds of boosting her barrier before his sword clashed with her magic, white flames licking the barrier.

"So you're going to kill me now Cail? Is that it?" She whispered, her barrier giving way in a shower of sparks as she held her staff up against his sword, her entire bodyweight pushing against him as she slid over the broken tiles.

"Some PROTETOR you are!" Clenching her small hand into a fist, Sey took a leaf out of Cail's book and reached for Falis' power, shoving a massive amount of it into her right hand and punching Cail in the face.

Pulling back his blade as soon as the barrier broke, Cail's sword never even touched Sey's staff. He was already very close to breaking an oath by merely drawing the blade.

"No. But I am going to teach you a lesson." Sheathing the sword with his left hand, Cail lifted his right and blocked her punch with his blessed vambrace.

"You're better at casting spells Sey. Don't play my game." The energy in her punch dissapated through the blessed steel and filled the room with another burst of light.

"Because when you have no barriers and no spells, you're defenseless." Grabbing her right wrist with his left hand, Cail spun Sey around and pinned her arm behind her back, all the while grinning like crazy.

"I think I win."

"Never." Cail would soon find it very, very hot where it really shouldn't be. Unless he was naked with a woman. Light gathered in her hand and in a split second, a beam shot out towards 'little' Cail, heating things up down there, if he didn't let her go.

"If you still want to have children, I'd release my hand Paladin. Now."

Spell
arrow Wrath of Falis - Falis' influence on Sey allows her to wield his light everlasting, causing severe burns on whatever object it shines upon. A beam of light shoots from Sey's palms towards an object heating it with the focused sunlight and causing it to combust. In order for this spell to be as successful as possible, Sey needs to concentrate for a moment then complete the spell. The reach on the beam is limited to 20 feet and she can only hold the beam for 30 seconds. The reach of the beam and length of the spell can be prolonged when in coordination with another White Mage of a deity of Light.

Thankfully, Sey had casted rather quickly - so the full effects of the spell didn't burn his balls off; though his new tunic had a hole burned in it. Quickly repositioning her hand away from his lower regions and getting behind Sey, Cail pointed her hands infront of her and held them tightly with both hands.

"Will you stop fighting me?!" He said into Sey's ear, frowning. He couldn't believe she had actually cast all of her offensive spells!
