With a sigh Lavi led Ayame away from the man. She needed to do something for Ayame...to try and get her to stop trying such reckless and potentially harmful things just because something or someone pushed her nerves...
Stopping at the counter she spoke to the clerk for a moment and had her bags handed over before placing extra coin on the counter.
"I'm sorry for the problems Ayame caused for your other customer...If...if she hasn't agitated him into leaving..please put this towards whatever he wants...if he does leave just keep it for the trouble...It's probably well enough we go home before we cause another incident." She turned away, trying to not offer the clerk a chance to respond.
As she turned from the counter she took a breath and closed her eyes to brace her nerves. As she opened them she nodded to the man and offering a last apologetic look before heading towards the door. Maybe there was a psychologist or someone she could take Ayame too...
Ayame had kept her face buried in Lavi's dress until just as they reached the door. she pulled slightly on Lavi's hand, drawing them to a stop as she looked back once more for the other little girl and...that man...even for one so young the guilt of her actions pressed heavily on her. The look on Kirkcaldy's face before she had turned away, seemingly burned into her memory, coming to mind if she had the slightest tinge of anger about the man...What had she done....
