"And I would be happy to help you out, I'd like to stay," she pressed the point urgently.
"Besides, you'll need someone around to poke at your fat belly," too soon for that Ajali..you're cruisin' for a bruisin'.

Mleli's expression changed immediately to a glare. Most knew never, ever to use the 'f-word' in reference to a pregnant female- though apparently Ajali did not. Fortunately, the distance between them and the bulge in Mleli's belly kept her from trying any sort of physical response to that. All it did, then, was put her back into a more grouchy mood.
"Oh, Kifuno will just love you," she remarked, and turned around to show the way back to her tree.

Ajali's bright smile returned and she tilted her head smiling, "Who's Kifuno? A nice young male I could meet?" She winked playfully and padded closer to her sister. Stopping just beside her she waited to see if it was alright to give her an afectionate rub, it had been an aweful long time since the two had seen each other let alone touched. There was a very warm spot in Ajali's very large heart that was just for Mleli and her grouchy ways.

Mleli almost laughed at Ajali's question, but a more genuine laugh than before. She found it funny that Ajali would ask such a question, and that she could honestly answer yes. Kifuno was a nice young male, the nicest Mleli knew of, even.
"Why yes," she answered in a somewhat calmer tone, "He lives with me."
When Ajali paused at her side, Mleli gave her an almost affectionate seeming nudge. She could dislike the way her sister acted, but the silly leopard was right. They were family, and Ajali had been her only family for awhile.

Ajali's smile could not have gotten wider if she tried, her face felt so taunt it would tare, exstatic that her sister was still a grouch but loved her all the same!
"Well then, lead the way to this nice young man! I'm not getting any younger!" she joked and nudged her sister back, "I'm so glad we found each other!"

Lead the way Mleli did, though at an easy, calm pace. Not surprisingly, she did not feel much like running when her belly would wag uncomfortably beneath her. Not to mention she got tired more easily doing those things now.
"It's not far," she said comfortingly, with a roll of her eyes. She made no comment about being glad or unhappy about having found Ajali. It didn't need to be said, she figured.

Ajali was not thoughtful, she had to state things and hear them be acknowledged, probably one of the things that had set a rift in the sister's personalities. She followed at a leasurely pace behind her sister, but really wanted to run with all of her excitment to the area that Mleli was heading.
Little Kifuno was in for a treat, the sly slithering reptile had wrapped himself in a very large ball and found a spot quite close to the tree to sun bathe in. He by no means was ready for the all too cranky Mleli to be marching back to the tree..she had gone away and he assumed that she would be gone for hours. Little did he know that, now she was marching back with ANOTHER leopard?!
He snoozed peacefully snoring slightly his jaw raising and falling with each breath, a small.."Ssssssshoooosssss..." sound escaping.

Mleli led the way in silence, not really caring for conversation at the moment. What a lovely little family they would make, herself, her sister, a snake and a little half-breed. Or more, she thought bitterly glancing down at her belly.
When they reached their residence, Mleli stopped at the bottom and listened carefully- the sound and sight of the golden snake reached her at approximately the same time.
"Here we are," she said matter-of-factly to Ajali, and stepped over to the sunny patch of ground, "Kifuno, we have company."

Ajali's eyes widdened at the odd spectacle the little snake made, a snoring creature. She giggled quietly looking at him. What was even more shocking was that this little snake seemed to be what Mleli had called Kifuno? As he stirred she raised an eyebrow looking at Mleli.
"This is the nice young man?"
"I'd ssssay I'm a nice young man," he peeked open his eyes looking at his tree-mate and what looked like another of her species, "I am Kifuno, pleasssssure to meet you..?" He looked from Mleli to Ajali they had never had company before..was the pregnant lady feeling well? He slithered up into what looked like a standing/sitting position and blinked at the two females.
"Mleli..I.." he shut his mouth with a popping sound as he was at a loss for words.

Mleli glanced over at Ajali with a genuine grin, quite pleased with the reaction to seeing Kifuno. She could enjoy a joke every once in awhile- and the expression on Kifuno was a bonus.
"Ajali," Mleli finished Kifuno's introduction, stepping to the side so he could get a better look at her, "Kifuno, Ajali is my sister. She has decided to stay with us, and I'm afraid there's no stopping her." Her tone was somewhere between friendly and bitter, though it was somewhat exaggerated.

"Ssssooo there will be two of you...?" he let out a long exasperated sigh and glared at Ajali inqusitively. Two of Mleli did not seem like it was going to be a very fun tree. Maybe, as they say, he should start packing all of his possessions now and find a more suitable tree, after all this one was not that great of a tree. The nagging feeling and want to see Mleli's children was probably the only reason he would stay, he would be Uncle Kif, and he liked that...a big old family of..well Mleli's.
"Yes! Two of us," she smiled brightly and shot a look to Mleli. No getting rid of her? Of course not! She was here to stay, but pore Kifuno had probably gotten the impression she was just like Mleli, "What my grouchy sister is saying is that I'll be around to help out around here for awhile," she said sing-songly, "So face it toots you're stuck with me."

Mleli could see in Kifuno's expression and hear in his voice exactly what Ajali thought, he expected that her sister was like her. It seemed he could put up with one leopardess like her, but not two. Not that it mattered, if he left she might miss him a little but the half-breeds she carried would keep her occupied.
"Yes, we're stuck with her," Mleli agreed with Ajali, and turned around to end her part in the conversation. She dropped to the ground below their tree to rest- at least pregnancy was a good excuse to be left alone. All she needed to do was claim to be tired.

"Are you alright dear? You're looking a litle warn out?" Ajali looked at her sister her eyes showing real concern. Never in a million years had the some what crazy liones thought she would be approaching her sister pregnant, hell she never thought she would see Mleli again. It was hard to think of their childhood and the difference between them then and the differences now.
"I'll watch the snake, you can do what ever you want?" she offered hopefully, she wanted to ask the snake questions about Mleli and her situation.
"I, ma'am, do not need watching!" He hissed indignantly glaring at the two of them. There could not be two creatures on earth that were related that were as different as one another, "Sssshe'l need watching, that belly'ssss getting big, we could take ssshiftsss making sssure sssshe'ss ssssafe?"

Mleli grinned inwardly when Ajali immediately sounded concerned about how worn out she looked, she hardly even cared that she looked it. This was the best break she was going to get, and that was not something she was going to give up. When Ajali offered to watch the snake, she smirked and glanced over at Kifuno.
She even got a small chuckle out of the pair of them. Perhaps, if nothing else, they would be entertaining.
"Do what you like, I'm going to sleep," she said, curling up and resting her head comfortably. Mleli would just ignore Ajali and Kifuno, and didn't want to take the time to figure out what to do if that became impossible.
